Don’t bother unless you are happy with little sleep. 
After a long day and looking forward to a decent sleep, we were kept awake till almost 1am with noise from the  bar. 
Why keep the bar open so late ( despite being “closed”) when there are guests. Obviously they just want the money. 
The noise was constant from arrival at 5:30 till 1am. Only break we had was when we went elsewhere to eat.

Great pub and  B&B stayed here before visiting Alton Towers checked in late evening. Young lady behind the bar. Very friendly and polite. 
Rooms where amazing and breakfast was great and set us up for the day ahead. 
All staff amazing. Thank you will be visiting again soon

Perfect location amazing staff and breakfast

Absolutely shocked I went in with my wife and children after a day out at Alton towers everybody in the toilet was sniffing white powder the atmosphere was very un welcoming so I went over the bulls head were the staff had teeth and a smile 

Terrible 

Arrived at the hotel about 2.30pm. had to wait at reception for a while before someone came to check us in, when they did, they seemed clueless, not telling us where our room was, didn't know breakfast times etc, then asked us for £90 and didn't explain that breakfast was not included. later that evening, my wife and I were so cold I had to go and ask if someone could put the heating on. Downstairs bar and restaurant area is very modern comfortable, bedrooms not so good, shabby carpets, no bottled water or shower wash or telephone and miniscule wardrobe. The hotel's saving grace was the food, which was really good.

Not the best stay we've had

Stayed one night whilst on business in the area, very few places to stay in locality and this looked the best. King sized bed was comfortable, only complaint would be PG Tips as the in room tea - glad I carry my own.

What an amazing experience. Great food amazing atmosphere and authentic village pub experience with all Covid restrictions in place. I have to say having been to Thailand many times when recommended to visit I was skeptical, but need not have been 

Authentic Thai food 

I booked to stay at White Hart Hotel via Booking.Com on the 20th July to stay August 5th-6th due to doing a double day at Alton Towers.

This looked by far the best hotel in the area and I was instantly impressed by the restaurant and general atmosphere of the hotel.

We arrived at the hotel just before 7pm after the park closed.

The staff member who greeted us at reception asked for our reservation, and it was shortly announced after a brief search that our booking ‘didn’t exist’

Looking at the monitor my name was indeed on the list, however it was only penciled in for just August 6th and not the original booking date of August 5th-August 6th

Obviously my partner and I were shocked and proved to the staff member the booking confirmation for August 5th-August 6th on both email and Booking.com app - labelled in green as booking confirmed.

Never the less the hotel was now fully booked and there was no room available for us, despite booking a room on July 20th.

The staff at White Hart instantly pushed the blame to Booking.Com, telling us to take it up with them.

Sitting in the hotel carpark on the phone to them, Booking.com confirmed that there was no issues on their end in regards to the booking.

Myself and my partner’s plans were completely ruined by White Hart Hotel. We hope an explanation is given to us on why this error was made.

This should have been done when we were in reception, instead of telling us it was a Booking.Com error and leaving us to find somewhere else to stay that evening.

It’s fair to say I won’t be returning to this hotel.

Shambolic

We had booked The White Hart well in advance of our weekend away which was primarily to visit Alton Towers . Alton is a fantastic village full of friendly people and character . Very happy with the hotel good facilities , clean and tidy with spacious rooms . Yes it might be a little noisy over the pub but that is ended by the staff at a reasonable time . Great beer , Thai food looked fabulous and breakfast was really good . Look forward to a return visit .

Great find 

We went Alton towers and stayed in this lovely hotel only bad point was being woken by a cockerel other than that cannot fault this place restaurant was nice as well 10 minutes from Alton Towers. Lovely rooms and bathroom

Lovely hotel

I picked the White Hart primarily becase of the location and I have to say it was a pleasant surprise.  Alton village itself is really quaint and the chiming clock of the adjacent church just added to the Englishness of the place.  I stayed here with my son in a double and single room and it was clean and comfortable breakfast was also good.  My only complaint about the room was a lack of any toiletaries except hand soap however I was able to buy these.  There was no food available our first night so Bran rang up to the Alton bridge hotel which is a 10 minute walk and booked us in there.  The following night Thai food was on and I have to say it was worth staying just for that alone.  The food was delicious and the service excellent.  It does seem to be difficult to get a vacancy in the Inn as when I was back at Alton Towers for Scarefest in October there didn't seem to be any availability.  I would stay here again even it is more expensive than soe of the hotels nearby.
