I do not know about the hotel accommodation, but the bar seemed grubby and the toilets need a serious revamp. The bar and restaurant was very quiet on a Tuesday lunchtime, Food was only average - scampi and chips with processed peas. Half of the order was never delivered, and the barmaid denied that we had ordered it, no apology given. Staff training required.

Wow what a fantastic stay. First of all I booked the wrong date, two days early. Most places would charge me for not turning up, Bugle didn't,  just phoned me and rebooked me for the Monday when I realised my stuoid mistake.                                          Fantastic, clean, characterful inn that hasn't lost its charm like so many old Inns that have been over refurbished to look modern.
  Chloe was brilliant, I  was the  only person drinking in the bar on a Monday night half 8, had already had an excellent dinner there, expecting her to shut the bar like most places would. But no she insisted it was open till 11 and sure enough more people turned up later.                   
 Then regaled me with me with hers and others ghostly experiences which I loved.                                        Slept like a log then checked out at 11  regretting I'd missed breakfast.              But no, still got breccy from the lovely, friendly lady on duty.                                                   The  staff were brilliant, loved chatting to them and loved the place itself and  so good I'm back in February.

How a hotel/pub should be and more

A great little hotel with a busy bar in the heart of the old village. Friendly staff and recently refurbished rooms certainly add to the pleasure of staying in this old and historical building. My room was perfectly adequate for my 2 day stay whilst visiting family nearby. Breakfast was served with a smile, and the bar was hosted by cheery staff only too happy to pull a pint for a thirsty punter. Parking at the rear of the property was available. I also enjoyed exploring the village on foot. I would definitely stay here again whilst visiting family.

Little gem in the heart of the village

We had a meal in the bugle hotel having travelled from Wales to visit our son. The food was really tasty and you could tell it was home cooked. I had the lasagne and it was stunning. We will come back again very soon.

Excellent service yummy food.

Outstanding hotel and service. We are a couple with two young children - 6 & 11. The hotel put two extra beds in the room. Very comfortable - the bed was so comfy that we almost slept through breakfast. Shower and bathroom very nice as was the overall hotel. The breakfast included was delicious and massive. Taxis are hit and miss I was told but we used Uber and it was fine - would suggest having that downloaded if you stay in Titchfield. Would definitely recommend and I look forward to staying at the Bugle again if we are in the area.

Outstanding - especially for families

My wife and I stayed overnight here on the way back from a Xmas Market trip to Bruges. Its a nice hotel in a very nice looking village. Our room had everything we needed and was comfortable. We ate in the hotel on the evening of our stay and the following morning for breakfast before we left and suffice to say that we would eat there again. 
We stayed in this hotel as it was fairly close to Winchester where we were headed to see the Xmas Market on our way home. Plenty of parking at the rear of the hotel.

Overnight stay

Overnight stay in twin room. Warm and friendly welcome. Complimentary tea, coffee and bottled water. Room clean and nicely decorated. Clean en-suite. Great breakfast. Great period hotel. Would visit again for sure.

Welcoming, friendly, clean hotel with great breakfast

Lovely hotel old and full of Character in a wonderful village .
Lovely welcome on arrival .rooms spotless and ideal for us both .
Second time I have stopped here and it’s excellent.
Dog friendly which is great , we had evening meal steak and a fish n chips both excellent.
Breakfast is fabulous large and freshly cooked .
Highly recommended

Overnight stop

Hi all , stayed 2 nights in a room overlooking the square , the room was spotless in all aspects , the greeting from the chap behind the bar on the evening we arrived (last Thursday eg 15/9) was better than I have had any where he even took a bag up to the room for us , really nice chap. We were staying there for the goodwood revival ……didn’t take long to get there from the bugle either . Set in a nice quiet village high street , free parking either in the front in the square or at the back .

The breakfast was really good , hot and plenty of it. The manager was on the Friday morning and she was the same as the chap the previous night …helpful and friendly  …Saturday another member of staff again the same.

As the hotel is an inn you have a bar on hand and also a food menu so ideal really.

I would definitely stay there again if I am in that neck of the woods for goodwood or any other local event and would suggest to anyone to take a look at this hotel  it’s a real gem……..I would recommend it.

Booking was accepted over the phone by a female member of staff and noted my comments about a male customer or staff who was having a long, loud coughing fit.
That is basically all that happened in the conversation.
