Stunning bedroom with every need catered for. We were treated to exceptionally attentive service, outstanding food - highly recommend a visit. The grounds are wonderful for a stroll through the Dartmoor countryside. 

Fabulous dinner and overnight experience on the Laurent Perrier offer

Unfortunately we were only there for afternoon tea, the champagne variety, but I could not fault the friendly welcome we were given, the service and the warm comfortable lounge where tea was served. All very ‘laid back’!
I’ve had afternoon tea in many places, but this was the best. We had one vegetarian and one vegan to cope with, and they were suitably impressed. I never thought we could eat so much, it was well presented, delicious, attractive,  yet not heavy. Congratulations to chef and all concerned.
Service was superb. All the staff were kindly and  friendly and I wished we had been  staying there!
Another day maybe!

Beautiful setting, accommodation, staff and food!

We had a wonderful stay over the New Year weekend.
The hospitality shown by the staff was outstanding - everyone worked hard to create a festive atmosphere.
There was a good variety in the menus over the 3 night stay. 
A real treat!

Wonderful New Year's Stay

We have dined and stayed at Gidleigh many times but never stayed for the New Year break.
We were excited to see the house in all it's festive glory and were not disappointed.
Our stay was so relaxing, we felt that we were part of a big house party as many guests were returning and knew each other.
One minor disappointment regarding my wife's meal on the first night was dealt with professionally and the food to follow was exemplary.
Service throughout was a wonderful combination of professional and friendly.
Special thanks to Simon,Alex, Jarek (query spelling) and Charlie for enhancing a wonderful experience.

Fabulous New Year stay

A warm and friendly hotel which exhibits the highest standards of service from reception to dining  plus the quality of food and cooking. Our room was immaculate and the standard of cleanliness is outstanding

This hotel is exceptional

We last went to Gidleigh in December 2020 but had wanted to return as we enjoyed it so much. We definitely were not disappointed in our second trip. Gidleigh is a very unique place - accessed via some narrow Devon lanes but, as a result, then totally peaceful when you arrive. 
We had a 'Taste of Gidleigh' experience, which was excellent value for money. It included a cream tea, glass of bubbly, dinner and the room. As the hotel had some vacancies, we were upgraded to a suite, which was a lovely touch. 
The service and food were, once again, excellent. The chef is really innovative and his food is fantastic. The staff are lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Marek, one of the team, was there for our last trip and I suspect the continuity in the team is very good.
We heartily recommend Gidleigh and will certainly go back ourselves. It's a testament to the team and owner.

Fabulous return trip

We often return to Gidleigh Park.  The quality of accommodation and dining is excellent, with a great selection of wines.  We leave feeling relaxed and truly looked after.  Service is amazing.  The staff team work together to accommodate every request and as guests we feel valued.

Great Hotel in beautiful setting wih a fabulous dining experience

We loved Gidleigh Park and had a relaxing two days walking in beautiful grounds and countryside with our dogs, relaxing in our huge room and eating the most sublime food. We will be back as soon as we can.

Wonderful stay

Do not give up hope!!  We had just crossed the very narrow  stone bridge the width of one small farm wagon, recommended by our GPS… rather than coming from Chagford…….  And a few twists and turns later there it was…..  looming on the hillside ! The welcome was as warm as last time, fires burning, flowers and artwork everywhere. .. and the food as delicious as anything we have ever tasted. ( our daughter is in the restaurant business in NYC and paris.)  the frosting on the cake was a sweet tile with happy 80th birthday written on it in frosting. 

The staff could not have been more helpful.

We would love to return in the spring and see the garden  bursting in full bloom… and the wild ponies wandering over the moors.

Returned 40 years later to celebrate my 80th birthday. After a tortuous drive we saw the famous sign.. at the crossroad

Many thanks for a wonderful stay. The food, hospitality and service were second to none. Exceptional service in a beautiful environment followed by a stunning three course evening meal. A memorable experience and a real treat.
