Premier Inn offers a good standard of budget accommodation. But this hotel is best avoided.

1. There are no ground floor rooms and the only lift was out of order for 24 hours during our stay. My partner has mobility problems and found it very difficult indeed there were other people who were older with more severe walking difficulties and they were having big difficulties. It's totally unacceptable. The hotel should be advertised as not suitable for anybody with a walking difficulty.

2. If you travel by car, the car parking is inadequate for the number of rooms. We have stayed here a few times because the location suits us but if you arrive back at the car park in the late evening (we had no choice about that) there's often no parking left. We had to park in a too tight gap between two cars making it difficult for the driver to get in and out of either car, or drive over the kerb and park in the paved area near the reception. There's no other suitable parking near the hotel. We had the same problem three nights in a row. NB we have a small car, not a bloatmobile, but it was still difficult.

3. There is a vending machine for snacks but it only has dreadful sugary junk food. We just wanted a packet of ordinary biscuits to have with a cup of tea but no luck. The only thing that was half-way acceptable was a KitKat bar but they ran out of those so there was nothing we found acceptable for 24 hours.

A bad stay with Premier Inn, not their best hotel, not happy.

The room was clean and comfortable as would be expected from a Premier Inn, The meal deal was fantastic value, the evening meal was great, lots to choose from and well cooked food, the service was also very good. The breakfast could have been better there was a distinct lack of hot food, the staff were slow and not prepared for a busy service at 10am . On a busy Friday evening there should be experienced bar staff on duty not someone who has no clue what wine is in the fridge. Overall not the best experience I have had in a Premier Inn.

Staff Issues

Stayed here several times. Great location for O2 academy and Merchant City. Onsite parking is a bonus. Easy and quick to get to off .motorway. Decent selection at breakfast. Only Downside restaurant sometimes not open.

Great location

Room clean, bed comfy. Conveniently located just a short walk from Glasgow Cross, close to Merchant City and very handy if attending a gig at the Barrowlands. Breakfast nice. 

If you wanted to sightsee your just a short walk from the People's Palace. 

Premier Inn, Glasgow City Centre South

Disappointed at customer service. Asked for my nursing wife's food to be microwaved and they refused. Claimed it was for food and person safety. Asked if I can do it myself and they said no. After much hassle they finally did.

Poor customer service

Stayed here for 2 nights last week with my Cycling group for one of our annual events. The hotel was in a great location for riding out from the city and easy to find by people arriving on the motorway or by train to Glasgow Central. It was a short walk to a local supermarket for a few supplies and easy to walk into the city in the evening to visit a couple of characterful pubs. It's sometimes tricky managing group bookings like ours with unplanned changes of names and nights and meal bookings and so on but the staff at the hotel, on reception and in the bar and restaurant were all very patient and helpful and made it a very pleasant and stress free trip for me. 

Great location for a cycle group trip

Came for a concert at the ovo hydro. I wish I’d looked more into the location of this hotel as it’s a little out the way of anything and the surrounding area isn’t the best. With that being said it’s about a 20 minute walk into town and Ubers everywhere and is cheap to stay. Comfortable large room which was clean. We didn’t use any facilities as we were just crashing for the night. If you’re arriving on a weekend avoid 3-4pm check in as it is heaving and only two people to check in, the queue was out the door.

Probably one off the best Premier Inn's we have stayed at.

Staff very helpful and polite. 
Food was excellent both breakfast and evening meals. 

Veronika went above and beyond with her customer service helping us sort an extra nights stay out.

Excellent stay

Mark who works in reception/bar is absolutely brilliant.  His costumer service goes above and beyond.  Have been staying for the last few weeks and he isa real asset to premier inn! Always happy to help and is extremely polite. He makes the experience an absolute pleasure.

Customer service 

I quite liked this hotel, but I would say that while it is just to the south of Glasgow City Centre, it is NOT in the City Centre.

Otherwise, it was a largely very good hotel.  It was certainly spotlessly clean, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent.

Staff, by and large, were very friendly, and check in was very efiicient.
