Well situated hotel overlooking Fishguard Bay We had four nights at this location and were given an executive suite (bridal suite ?) as an upgrade from a twin double room. Large king sized double poster bed that overlooked the bay and very close to the  car boat terminal.. Quiet and very clean all staff were helpful and friendly .The waiting staff in the dinning room were extremely friendly and looked after us well.  The receptionist Cindy was more than helpful and friendly. Car parking was good. Meals in the evening well cooked the choice being similar on most nights but portions were large.Overall an enjoyable stay. General hotel decor is somewhat old fashioned but efforts have & are being made to brighten the place up would recommend this place for a stay.

FOUR DAY BREAK IN PEMBROKESHIRE

The hotel went into administration recently and boy can you tell. It's been stripped bare, things are broken and left unrepaired (even the front door) and it's tired, broken and old. The only saving grace are the staff trying their best to keep things going. There are rumours that it will be bought and renovated and if so, it will be lovely, but it needs a lot of money spending on it. As things stand, it's the worst place I've ever stayed in. No light in my bathroom, a toilet that butts up against the bath so there's no room for your knees, the telly doesn't work, there are holes in the walls, the gents toilets are out of action...an endless list of things to do.

Oh dear. Grim, grim, grim.

Had a lovely night away in this old grand hotel. Ladies on reception were both pleasant and helpful on checking in and out. We asked if we could have a sea view and we did. Hotel is old, out of fashion, needs a make over BUT we only paid £31.50 for the night so am not complaining at all. Yes we would stay again

Nicely surprised 

This was our second visit to this hotel and it hasnt disappointed once again, we had the same room as we had two years ago, staff were polite and friendly an went out of their way to help and assist us ,Jerome behind the bar was such a lovely helpful character a real people person ,we will definitely be returning ,sad to come from there ,a real must for value. Our queen sized bed was immense the room we had was huge, bath was exceptional an lush. 

Another fab stay

A very warm welcome awaits you at this hotel . All staff are very friendly and helpful. The very large room was a bit tired but very comfortable and spotlessly clean. You could still see the class of this hotel albeit a little past it’s best , but reflected in the price - food was cheap and cheerful and breakfast staff were very obliging to what I wanted.
Right next to Fishguard harbour lovely views. At £34 a night each for bed and breakfast - absolute bargain ! Will be visiting again

Worn but warm

Stayed overnight to catch the ferry. Fantastic location, pretty much on top of the terminal. Hotel is dated and needs some love. Bathroom had mould, I think due to the fact the extractor didn't work and no window. If you can't get the tv to work, use the chair to stand on the dressing table and you will find the on button on top of the tv, once on, you can't really hear it because of the constant drone coming from the tv. The bed was awful, hardly slept, springs shot to bits. On a plus, food was decent and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We would use again, for convenience, and it was a decent price. You get what you pay for, and really no complaint except the bed!

Needs some work

This hotel was created by the Great Western Railway company as an elegant stop over for travellers sailing on transatlantic liners from Fishguard to the USA - particularly New York. Originally it had a golf course and riparian rights along the nearby trout river for well off travellers to enjoy leisure pursuits when staying at the hotel . It's days of grandeur are past but it has recently benefited from a widescale refurbishment and its interior is now in good shape . The seaview room we had for the one night we stayed there was very good and breakfast was good too. I highly recommend this hotel for someone visiting the Pembroke coast of travelling on the Fishguard to Rosslare ferry .

Wonderful location and fine hotel

Lovely hotel, amazing location. Staff very polite and very friendly. Breakfast good choice and cooked breakfast very good, buffet style. Ample parking even for a small coach 9/10 Nov 19. Bed very comfortable and everything you need in rooms. Rooms could do with being modernised and decorated.
Overall a very lovely hotel and I certainly highly recommend.

Excellent place to stay. If you are Looking for a cost and beautiful place with lots of history and heritage then please book a room. If you Book through certain websites then if you get the chance to have the food included I recommend it highly.

Excellent Stay

Two rooms for one night. Cheap yes but not cheerful. Arrived 9:30 everything closed except a reluctant receptionist.
Probably the worst nights sleep I’ve had in a long time .. pillows were like envelopes and the bed was like trying to sleep on a trampoline .. Only good point was a good shower and plenty of Hot water.
Didn’t stay for breakfast as the place didn’t give the impression that it was clean (if the standard of the bedrooms and toilets were anything to go by).
Was tempted to leave the phone number of a skip supplier so they could get rid of those awful beds.
 But sadly no one cared enough to tell.
My advice is sleep in your car
