Stayed at Boray Lodge for a long weekend at the end of October.

Size ideal for a couple. Facilities excellent, everything you need including sticky toffee pudding :), ample space in all rooms to move around freely.

Log burner heated the whole place, you didn't need central heating on ! It was so cosy as well. Hot tub was great.

Nearby (less than a mile) Cartmel was a lovely little place with the Priory, pubs, racecourse, cheese making place ! and small brewery, array of shops etc.

All in all we loved it and would stay again, a good central place to stay too to visit the lakes or further south to the likes of Morecambe Bay.

Super Southern Lakes.

We had a weekend break and stayed in the Ryeland lodge. Upon arrival everything seemed fine, nice spacious lodge. 1 bedroom with 2 single beds the other en suite with a double bed. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom with a bath. All bath towels and shower gel and lotion included. Kitchen had all pans and utensils, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. Nice touch of milk and the famous sticky toffee pudding. Lounge had 2 reclining sofas which didn’t smell great. TV which the volume is limited. Hot tub located at the back of the cabin which is not ideal as no view on the cabin entrance. This is cleaned daily around 7:45am. On your last day of stay you have to remove all bed linen and place it in the bath and open all windows which I take it this is to try to banish the musty smell. Hot tub is also cleaned and drained at the normal time on the last day therefore, you are unable to use this before you leave. Lodge is paid for until 9:30am therefore, I feel tub should not be attended to until after this time or until the text has been sent to say we have vacated the cabin. 

Great lakes

Perfect birthday weekend away, booked the ewe lodge cabin Friday until Monday, cabin was super clean and had all the amenities you would need. It is joined to another cabin however this wasn’t an issue apart from a few foot steps. Hot tub was fantastic and gave you enough privacy with the extra fence panels. The site is beautiful and in a great location 15 min walk to the village of cartmel which I highly recommend for a bite to eat in the evening. Windermere 25 min drive in the car, we also drove to thirlmere infinity pool which was the highlight of the trip if you get the chance to go it is 1 hour drive but well worth it a quick google will give directions for the walk. Overall would return again to the cabins small issues is the internet is terrible which was slightly annoying when trying to google places to go or watch the firestick at night. Check out time 9.30 I find way to early for any accommodation specially when check in is so late. Thanks again for a fantastic trip!!! 

Perfect relaxing stay 

We stayed in Romney cottage a week ago. Pleasant and cosy lodge which is reasonably comfortable and clean and stocked all we needed for 4 nights. Main gripe would be the back is not fenced in so we were unable to relax and let our dog roam in and out the lodge and had to be kept on a lead at all times. This for a dog friendly lodge was a bit bizarre to us especially when we wanted to use the hot tub, our only option was to shut him in the lodge alone (makes all their rules for where the a dog is allowed a bit harder to maintain and as our dogs in new surroundings he stressed being locked up) also because of the big gap in the fence on the drive side  there’s no privacy in the hot tub when our lodge neighbours walk past up and down the drive to their lodge on an evening. This really needs looking at. The site is beautiful and very quite which was a bit too remote for us. Only place within walking distance is Cartmel Village which was small and pleasant but this is along narrow country roads which I would not risk on foot. Everything else is at least a half hour drive away with closest would be Windermere. This meant unfortunately one of us had to drive every day leaving one of us unable to have a drink when we ate out, which kind of spoilt it for us. The other thing is 9.30 departure (which is too early in my eyes considering the next people don’t get the key til 4 basically looses a day of your stay but anyhow) meant the hot tub was getting emptied at 8-8.30 on the Friday morning waking me up. Not cool. For these reasons we wouldn’t go back.

Romney lodge. Not the best but pleasant

Have just returned from another fantastic stay at one of these lodges. We keep returning as they’re very convenient for Cartmel and lovely and quiet and clean.
No intrusion from anyone and well appointed with everything you need. Great hot tub!
The only slight issue is check out by 09:30 on the last day which is a bit challenging, particularly having to strip bedding/ empty bins etc. It’s probably time to return to pre-COVID procedures now. However, we appreciate that the cleaners need adequate time to clean to such a high standard.
Will hopefully return soon.

We keep returning!

We’ve just returned from a 7 night stay in the Texel lodge and have had a lovely relaxing break. The lodge is surrounded by trees and normally we wouldn’t chose to stay in that setting. Whilst the trees give privacy they do make the inside of the lodge a bit dark. The picture on the Hoseasons website must have been taken a few years ago as it shows no trees to the side of the lodge which is a bit misleading.  Internally the lodge is a more traditional style but very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The beds are really comfortable and both bedrooms have a good size en-suite. The layout of the lodge is a bit odd with the access to the hot tub being via the main bedroom. That was fine for us but might be a bit problematic for a couples break. The only other way to access the tub being via the grass at the side of the lodge. A little more decking at the side of the lodge would resolve the access issue. 
The tub was very private and it was so relaxing watching the birds and a squirrel from the tub.  
We had a couple of very minor issues during our stay and the response for both was first class with the issues being resolved immediately. There is no reception on site but the contact by text/calls  works extremely well.  We certainly couldn’t fault the park and the staff we had dealings with.  I wouldn’t hesitate to go back!

Lovely park and lodge

My wife booked this for our 34th Wedding Anniversary and it was perfect. 
Nice inside and a lovely hot tub in a private setting. 
Out in the countryside, just perfect. 
We used this as a base to explore the area.

Lovely place to stay

A mix up woth hoseasons as we thought we had booked a pet friendly lodge . Based on the poor condition we were sure it was a pet one , tired decking , weeds and splinters, lodge full of cobwebs , owners sent a text message demanding £70 for a deep clean having seen we had a dog , and demanded either cash !!!! Or bank transfer by 8pm on our second day ! Semi detached cabin and could hear everything next door !!!!! Dirty rug and door mats , tired bathroom mildew and rusty bathroom cabinet, windows dirty  , lovely beds and nice kitchen , great location for races and a shame things were not aS expected

Very Tired , needs an update and a good clean and a worrying demand for money from the owners !

I recently stayed in boreray lodge. The lodge itself was lovely, however the towel rail in bathroom didn't heat up, bed was really hard and was really squeaky. Only downfall with this lodge was guests in lodge next to us was partying with loud music till gone 2am and there was no one around to notify which results in lack of sleep for 5 days out of 7 days. Main selling point gotta be hot tub that's was best ever. I would go back but I would avoid this lodge next time.

Week visit to the lakes

We booked a week at Teesdale Lodge via Hoseasons  .When we entered the lodge for the 1st time we all agreed that the lodge exceeded our expectations, well equipped ,spacious bedrooms and private at the back for decking and hot tub  .Very relaxing here and ideal for Cartmel, Grange over Sands  ,Windermere and further afield A most enjoyable and relaxing stay. Excellent
