We had a wonderful time here. The staff were all lovely. The room was very clean, comfy, spacious and very tasteful decorated. 
We had an evening meal in the pub restaurant which was great and breakfast was delicious too. 
We will definitely be back.

Great Hotel (and pub). Lovely Rooms. Great Food.

PROS: Lovely old place my friend and I visited on Halloween, and were not disappointed! I had several spooky experiences with banging in our room, and a feeling of pressure around my neck. Turned out guy who haunts it was hung!!! Staff were wonderful and dinner & breakfast were first class, with plenty of choices! Room was spacious, and bed was comfy.

CONS: Being disabled I struggled with the corner bath a little, but at least there was a tiled part to sit on. Could have done with grab rails, and soap dispenser on other side though. Wasn't keen having plug connections at side of me on the bedhead. Was restless in the night, but was to be expected! Flippin' ghost! LOL!



Spooky stay in The Castle in Castleton

Stayed in the annexe, soundproofing was very poor and the family rooms are all on the floor above. Children were jumping up and down and running around til, 11pm and then again from 5am so terrible nights sleep. Also the room @£148 per night had very little in the way of basic amenities such as no fridge, suitcase bench, water, phone to call reception, only one tiny chair no comfy chair. Restaurant had good sounding menu but quality of food was poor and service basic. We had to ask for cutlery, coffee to be filled etc etc. My steak for dinner was very dry with no sauce or salad dressing on the side salad.

Don’t stay here if you value your sleep

Fantastic location, great food, the rooms are spotless and the beds are huge and soo comfortable. Very friendly staff all made us feel very welcome. 
We honestly don't have a bad word to say and will definitely be back

After visiting a few inns searching for somewhere to have supper, we decided on The Inkeepers Inn Castleton,  OMG what a massive mistake! We ordered our food, £35, it came & was practically thrown onto the table, one word...DISGUSTING 🤢 DO NOT EAT HERE! what a waste of money

A really fantastic team at the castle, great value for money, exceptional service and a great location, tasty food with good value for money, if you’re in to your hiking this is a perfect hotel for you, so many walks of varying difficulty, lovely village and a great place to unwind. 10/10 would book again

A wonderful break from the city life

We stayed mid-week for 2 nights as a group of 10. The hotel was excellent - staff were outstanding. Food exceptional for the price. The rooms were clean & lovely but bear in mind it is an old property. Would definitely recommend & stay again 

Recommend this Inn

Thank you for a fabulous stay. Perfect location for walks and pubs, clean comfy room with amazing shower. Staff ( especially the assistant manager) are very warm and the service is excellent. Will definitely be back. Just be aware that parking is a bit of an issue but, if the pub spaces are full, you can park in a number of pay and display car parks for a few hours and by evening time there should be space on the Castle car park. This village is a walkers paradise and the pubs are fantastic too.

Great night away

We stayed at the Castle for one night only whilst we were attending amy niece's  wedding at nearby Bamford. 

Castleton is a lively place when the sun is out, full of walkers, day tourists, and holidaymakers. The scenery here is breathtaking, so no wonder. The Castle is centrally placed at the junction of the main street and Castle Street. It's a proper pub, but which also offers great food and accommodation.

On check-in, the lady who welcomed us was warm, friendly and informative - instantly put at my ease. We were allocated to a room in seperate block across the car park. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a modern bathroom, which was also a decent size. But I had asked for a twin room, and the room had a double bed. I walked across to reception to ask if there were any twins available...and without hesitation they said 'oh it can be set up as a twin, we'll do it for you now'. Good as their word it was done right away. 

The added advantage of the seperate block was that access was via an electronic key fob for the block, and a key for the room...so no matter what time we got back from the wedding we could get in without disturbing anyone.

We had a very comfortable night, and a stonkingly good breakfast from the Brunch menu. So thanks to Jack who made up the room for us as we wanted, and Tommy who looked after us at breakfast.

I'd definitiely recommend this place, and we will stay there again when we next visit our relatives in Bamford, or pay a visit to Castleton.

The Castle Inn - nice people, and a great stay

Been today 5friends Sunday dinner lovely. Service from entering confirming our booking and service from Kelly was executional . Can't wait to return. Thank you for a lovely afternoon to the team at the castle really enjoyed it .
