The staff in this hotel were Fanta from the cleaners to the managers! 
We never had a bad meal and they were so attentive! We would recommend this hotel to people because as much as it’s slightly out of the town centre everything is easy to get to.

A month to remember, we moved to jersey and spent a month in this hotel and it was fantastic

Very pleasant stay, all of the staff were so helpful,    especially to the poor families whose homes had been damaged in the recent storms. Clean, fresh and comfortable.  Evening meal was good value, food was always hot and the service was prompt and friendly.

Comfortable stay

We've travelled over from liverpool with a team of amateur boxers. To box a team from Jersey. The hotel has been absolutely fantastic.  The rooms are really big and comfortable.  The food is quality.  And we have been really looked after. I can't speak highly enough of this hotel and we will be coming back year after year 100 %

Ambassador amazing

We have just returned from the Ambassadeur. The room was spacious and very comfortable but could do with being updated. We ate in the hotel for the whole week as the experience on the first night was exceptional. The food and staff especially Noelia were first class nothing was too much trouble. Well situated as the bus stop is just over the road to go into St Hellier bus depot for you to experience the beautiful island. We purchased a bus pass for the week at a reasonable price and we visited most of the island with it. I would highly recommend this hotel and will be returning.

Excellent hotel

What an exceptional hotel. Just returned after a 7 night stay. The room was spotless. Cleaned everyday. The food was some of the best we've ever experienced! Compliments to the Chef. A special mention to Mary and Peris, they were very attentive, professional and exceptionally good at their job, nothing was too much trouble for them. The view from our room was breathtaking! You really don't need a car to navigate the VERY narrow roads in Jersey, the bus service is second to none. We would go back in a heartbeat! Thank you Ambassadeur.

Exceptional Hotel

Pretty quiet at The Ambassadeur in October with only a handful of tables taken at breakfast - and virtually all French on day two, which added to the continental atmosphere!
Disappointed in the lack of a few key essentials as part of the cooked breakfast as well (no black pudding, mushrooms or fried bread) and the croissant basket was quickly emptied by the French and not replenished.
Staff all friendly despite looking like they needed more to do in the off season.
Room was comfortable and the two beds pushed together made for a vast experience but not as good as the experience of the sea view with the October tides high and the smell of the sea air (and seaweed). Unsurprisingly the shower pressure was nothing much more than a light drizzle/dribble - why are hotel showers so poor?
Come again for the view but not for the breakfast.

Breakfast black marks

The staff are polite but I wouldn’t say friendly, the waiter at breakfast was positively rude. I asked for a second pot of marmalade and he literally threw 5 pots onto the table. There was no advertised vegetarian options for dinner and when I asked for something I got a big pile of overcooked spaghetti with just a few tiny fragments of mushroom, disgusting. The pillows were very hard, I ended up sleeping on my beach towel folded up.  The bedroom was clean and the tablecloths spotless. I wouldn’t go back and therefore cannot recommend it

Very disappointed

Would have given 3.5 stars, but there is no option to. It is a ‘Good’ hotel, and above average. 
Pros: 
1. Very friendly, helpful, and efficient staff throughout hotel - reception and restaurant. A huge thank you to those on duty on Thursday 1st September when I had to go to the Emergency Room at St Helier Hospital. Also a shout out to Christine and Paul in the Restaurant / Bar.
2. Lovely room - Superior, overlooking sea. Comfy mattresses - our room was 2 singles pushed together, so plenty of room, and further single bed. Spotlessly clean room, with daily towel change. 
3. Spacious wardrobes, with sufficient clothes hangers - makes a pleasant change!
4. 2 bus stops very close to hotel. 
5. Good public lounge area, to enjoy pre-dinner drinks etc.
Cons:
1. Sea view rooms overlook the busy main road from St Helier to Gorey Pier and St Catherines. Not much of an issue at night, but can be more than a bit intrusive when you have the window open, and are trying to enjoy a quiet drink on the Juliette balcony.
2. Rooms get very hot, and the in room fan is useless. Fortunately, one of the reception staff gave us a top tip to cool it down, which included opening the windows in the room and bathroom, and leaving the door open so the air could flow through.
3. Breakfast gets boring after about 4 days. Quite decent options on cereals coupled with croissants, grapefruit, fruit salad and juices, but nothing in the way of fresh fruit. The cooked breakfast never changes: sausage, 2 rashers of bacon, beans, half a tomato, and choice of poached, scrambled, fried, or boiled egg. There are two alternatives in a cold plate of hams and cheese, served with lettuce, tomato, and cucumber, which makes for a nice change. However, on the Friday I had kippers. Big mistake! One was burnt, which rendered it inedible, and there was no finesse as to how it was served i.e. no wedge of lemon or parsley on the side. 
4. Outdoor swimming pool is supposed to be heated between April and September, but it was far too cold to swim in at the end of August. The receptionist on duty told me this is often the way, particularly if the wind is blowing. 
5. Daily menu is 3 courses plus coffee, at a cost of £22.50, which we decided to do on the first night. It was OK, but nothing special. As we don’t often want 3 courses, it meant we mostly went elsewhere to eat in the evening. The hotel does offer a la carte, but this has to be ordered after breakfast on the day.
6. Mealtimes. Breakfast service commences at 07.30 and finishes at 9.00 am, which when you’re on holiday is too early. Extending it by half an hour would I think be appreciated by a lot of guests. Dinner service commences at 7.00 and ends at 8.00. Way to late starting, and early finishing. 

Having said all the above, it is a pleasant hotel, and out of St Helier, which is much too busy for us.

Pros and Cons

Our first time staying here, but we were really pleased with our choice, really friendly staff, great service, hotel really clean, no parking issues, breakfast was good, hash browns would have been nice. overall really good place to stay and hope to be back next year

great first stay

We visited as a family with my baby and couldn't have been more delighted with the facilities offered at the hotel. Upon arrival the owner himself brought in our luggage from the carpark which was a welcome relief with a baby and pram in tow! We were able to access our rooms hours before the official check-in time which was lovely as we'd travelled through the night and wished to freshen up before our day out. It was a surprise to be given a proper cot for the baby rather than a flimsy travel cot, and we had 2 adjoining rooms making our accommodation almost like a suite. 

The hotel is spotlessly clean and recently updated (we first stayed here almost 15 years ago!) rooms are serviced every morning and fresh towels and tea/coffee provided (just remember to put your ticket out on your door!). The staff are friendly and welcoming and did absolutely anything and everything to make sure we were looked after. Our room was warm however we were having a heatwave.......stuck on the fan and opened the windows and we were absolutely fine. 

The breakfast and evening meals were lovely and always served fresh and warm and very tasty! The bar was both well stocked and attended which was nice as we enjoy a glass of wine before our evening meal.

The hotel itself is on an island no bigger than 47 miles square, so you really aren't far from anything at The Ambassadeur. We were lucky to have a hire car however the bus stop is right outside the front of the hotel and buses run incredibly frequently, we used the service once to attend Battle of Flowers. 

If you want a lovely relaxing place to stay after a long day on the beach or sightseeing, then this is the hotel for you. All in all, we love The Ambassadeur, thank you for a wonderful holiday, we will be back!
