Me and my partner came to Brighton for the weekend and we had such an amazing time  the location  of the guest house was perfect..  the staff were super friendly and helpful they treated us like we were friends for years. It was very clean and accommodating. We both felt like we were welcomed. The breakfast was cooked fresh each morning to our liking. We will be back.

Lovely stay, friendly staff and cosy guest house

i want to be fair and factual and not emotional 
i arrived like 9:30 PM doors were closed no office no reception , i had to call a number then a lady woke up and handed me a key 
the room was third floor no elevators and i was shocked no bathroom in the room
it is shared for men and women one toilet 
it caused my wife a shock and she couldnt use the toilet 
had stomach ache coz first time to use a public toilet 
the room was tiny couldnt fit a one bag 
you could feel room old , windows dirty , insects and feel how stingy is this hostel 
there was big lie it says 4 stars it is not even worth one star it is a lousy low class hostel 
the staff were very mean and rude and they were creeps and stingy with attitude and stingy and mean behaviour 
we missed three days breakfast coz it is only 1 hour 30 minutes window and we arrived to the tiny lousy smelly 4 tables tiny toys restuarnt and they refused to serve breakfast coz we came 5 minutes late 
it is from 8 to 9:30 and weekend from 8:30 to 10 
the place is dirty needs demolish and rebuild 
i travelled around the world and never faced a lie like this 
and it was 238 Pounds per day which was 10 times of what it worth 
it should be 20 Pounds max 
i was ripped off by theives and crooks 
and if anyone reads my reviews he/she will ge the facts the truth and nothing but the truth 
wifi is a lie it doesnt work and it doesnt exist it is a myth and mirage in this lousy hostel and i bet every word i say i can prove it 
the area is for junkies , very dirty very low class and a lot of fights and drunks at the hotel doors 
i do not recommend it , and anyone stays there will regret it , beleive me you will 
i mentioned all facts and it is up to you to be cheated and betrayed

the worst nightmare

We extended our stay  and  moved to the Kelvin for one night.    Basic but a very warm  welcome.  The breakfast was freshly cooked in the clean dining room.  We left our bags and returned a few hours after check out which was  great.  Elle and Patrick  were  very  nice and   couldn't  do  too much for you.

Friendly stay

Small but cozy rooms, all clean! Great location in Brighton, right by the pier, all within walking distance! Very delicious breakfast, vegetarian or vegan on request, just to recommend! We had a great time!!

This is a great hotel.

This is the second time iv stayed at The Kelvin and we were really looked after, such a warm welcome from the team every-time. The breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day exploring the delights Brighton has to offer! The guest house is close to the beach and the town centre. If you're looking for a comfortable, clean room with a good breakfast close to the beach then The Kelvin is for you :)

The perfect guest house close to the beach

It's in an excellent location, very near the beach, next to Kemp Town, and very close to the town centre. It's run by warm, friendly and helpful people. The room was lovely, very clean, and had all the facilities we needed. The breakfast was superb. It's decent value and highly recommended!

Great Location Lovely hosts

We stayed at The Kelvin from June 27 - July 4, 2018. 

If you a looking for a 5 Star hotel, The Kelvin is not for you, but if you are looking for a cute place to enjoy a nice breakfast, come-and-go as you wish, and have a bedroom with a comfortable bed, then this may be the place for you. 
Our hosts, Elle, Theresa, Patrick and more were very friendly and accommodating. Make arrangements ahead of time with them as to when you will be arriving so they can be there to greet you.

Our room had a key (and a different front door key) for security.

We had our own small bathroom and shower and didn't have to share with other guests. A double sized bed, desk, small place to hang up clothes and two bedside tables. Not a lot of room for extra luggage in our room, not sure about the size of the other rooms.

It is only a block from Brighton Beach in this pretty seaside town. The beach is all rocks which sounds weird but it works. The sand was replaced because the tide was taking too much of it away. First time we have been in a seaside town so the seagulls too a bit of getting used to but it is normal for people who live here. (We wore earplugs to sleep.)

The location was great for us as there are a lot of cute shops, coffee shops, corner grocery stores, parks, interesting places to see all very close to The Kelvin. 

Brighton is built on hills so be prepared to strap of your walking shoes and log lots of happy miles on your activity tracker.

The Kelvin is an Airbnb that we would definitely come back to.

Close to the beach

In a perfect position only metres from the sea front and close to the Pier, this small B & B is highly recommended. My wife and I stayed for 7 nights. Our stay started disappointingly as we were given Room 3, which would be just OK as a Single but too small as a Double. The room was en-suite but a chunk of the room had been pinched to install the shower, a small sink (too low!) and WC. Shower stall roomy and shower good. Small wall mounted TV, Tea/coffee making facilities. No view from window. 

Fortunately after 3 nights we were able to move into Room 4 ("Our best Room"). This was much larger with space to move around. A huge window caught the morning sun. The room got hot but fortunately a fan was provided. Partial sea-view. Bigger TV, same ensuite arrangement.

The people were lovely: Patrick, a big Irishman with personality to match, Elle, a lovely young woman who had been in the business for six years from her teens and, at weekends, a 15-year-old Lewis (Elle's nephew) who was learning the business and very keen to do things right. Breakfasts were good - everything you could want. And the whole place was eat-off-the-floor-clean.

A few suggestions: please provide in rooms a shower cap, box of tissues, bathroom deodoriser spray. There will be substantial refurbishment taking place in the Close Season. A good thing, as the decor is looking a bit ready for some TLC.

No Visitors' Book to sign. Had there been one I would have said nice things. My W.I.S.T.A. (Would I Stay There Again) Rating: 8/10.

Great stay!

My daughter and I stayed in this guest house last week. Patrick and Theresa were very available and very welcoming to our requests. The room was always clean and breakfast was plentiful. The location is really strategic: close to the center, the bank, the post office and the supermarkets. Recommended!!!
