Stayed at Tranna Hill recently on the penultimate day of our Dales High Way walk. Was delighted to find the only bath we had found in 9 nights in other B+Bs! Very welcome after our long walk over the Howgills from Sedburgh. Brenda very kindly gave us a lift to and from a local pub for dinner. Great views, comfortable room and perfect place if you are considering the  Dale's High Way walk.

Beautiful location with in walking distance to some fanatic walks.
Beautiful rooms and a very passionate lady promoting local produce and business.


Beautiful memories 

We stayed here whilst walking the Dales High Way - a a great b and b with beautiful outside space.    A varied choice breakfast together with a excellent packed lunch set us up for the day.

20 minute walk to the local hostelry for an evening meal.

Peaceful stop

A fabulous Location with walks on the door step.
I stayed there 6 nights and there were different walks every day with some fabulous local pubs with good quality evening and lunchtime meals.
You can start the day with a scrumptious cooked breakfast and ask for a pack lunch  for a small cost.
A very comfortable stay and I hope to return.

Beautiful Cumbria

Lovely B&B for a stop over on route to Northcoast 500. Great location and not too far out our way to continue journey north. Friendly owner, very clean and an excellent pub 2 miles away for dinner. Would recommend

Lovely stop over

Stopped over for night on way up north. Lovely B and B. Bed wonderfully comfortable, host friendly and great breakfast. Perfect apart from nearby road, but shut the window and you can’t hear it. Would happily stay again

We really enjoyed our stay at Tranna Hill, a lovely B&B in an excellent location for local walking.  Our hosts Brenda and Derek went out of their way to help us after our car had an altercation with a telegraph pole and we ended up with a shattered back window.  Derek patched up the back window so we were able to return home to Dorset.  We have already recommended the B&B to friends.

Highly Recommend

Really enjoyed our stay. Clean room, comfy king size bed, beautiful garden. Breakfast was good, very tasty.  You may even see the Red Squirrel in the garden if you are lucky!  Beautiful views from our room.
Will certainly return next year for a longer stay if we are able.

Lovely, comfy B&B

Really glad I chose Tranna Hill to stay.

After booking I was given advice on where best to leave my motorbike overnight. I was warmly welcomed despite being quite wet and shown to my cavernous room, with a soft and comfy king size bed and view of the hills. 

I chose to walk to Ravenstonedale for an evening meal at the pub there, which was perfectly doable - just less than two miles each way, and you do not need to walk on the main road, there is a path between the two villages.

After a tasty breakfast in the morning I was away! A very enjoyable stay.

Comfortable and helpful stopover

I  stayed here with my girlfriend for one night in the king room.If you look at my reviews of other hotels etc Youll see i try to go into detail but try not to nit pick as some people report of some places having a cobweb or a flake of paint missing,However after reading Miguel,s review of Tranna hill dated 11th August this year,He/They state,I challenge you to find fault with this place so here i go...Friendly welcome by Brenda the owner and she showed us to our room.At first the room and big bed seemed fine.And En-suite seemed fine.A few small things we noticed in our room but i dont want to sound fussy.There were cobwebs on the main light,a discarded tissue was on the floor presumably left by previous customers,there was only one packet of biscuits with the tea/coffee tray but other rooms had two packets.Only small issues but i believe lack of attention to detail.Brenda left us a list to fill in for our Breakfast requests i cheekily said id put times 2 or 3 on some items which she said was fine.We had a lovely meal at the Kings Head down the road and came back to relax.The en suite was fine we used the shower unit which worked fine but we noticed the shower head height would not go any higher and a part used shower gel had been left.The bed although a kingsize was hard and we slept poorly.At first we kept the window shut but we got too warm and opened it but the very busy main road to the front of the house kept us awake even more.Breakfast was very good and mine was very big! The only thing id say about improvements for Breakfast would be they could serve several juices not just orange as my girlfriend cant drink it.All in all i wouldnt stay here again.Id advise patrons to sleep at the rear of the house if possible.
