The Red Lion is situated in a central location, within walking distance of all amenities. Our room was clean, comfortable, pleasant and well-equipped. 
The Proprietors were exceptional, and could not have been more helpful, with both being personable, efficient and extremely accommodating. 
The breakfast was plentiful, and of an excellent standard, with local produce being used wherever possible. 
I would highly recommend this establishment, and will certainly be returning to stay there again in the future.

Great place for starting out on the northern part of the Offa’s Dyke Walk. Extremely friendly and flexible hosts, who did everything to make us happy. We slept like logs and had a great breakfast before setting out on our walk. Very nice beds and a well equipped room.

Great stay in Knighton

After a long day walking on Offa’s Dyke we had a friendly welcome. A tasteful interior in this pub that’s not a pub. Our room was small but well equipped with local products. A good breakfast both for meat eaters and vegetarians. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful.
We loved Knighton.

What a lovely place!

What a gem! Situated in the centre of Knighton, right by the clock tower, this former public house has been stylishly converted into a B'n'B. My room still had some older elements but with the addition a very elegant and new en-suite. The owners Neil and Kath know their stuff and provide TV, tea and coffee making facilities and an espresso machine. There was more than enough storage space too and a lot of cushions.  I did find the absence of dedicated re-charging slots a little frustrating but fortunately I had brought my own charger. 
     The price of the room I thought was quite appropriate given the facilities and services provided. I came by train so cannot comment on parking.
     Neil and Kath do not live on site but are there to welcome you and they give you your own key to let yourself in and out. They also provide telephone numbers for an emergency. This was not a problem. They, and all their staff followed COVID security rules and so masks were worn.
    Breakfast, cooked by Neil, was excellent and very tasty. The full English was on offer  with toast, marmalade, cereals and yoghurts etc. Neil was also happy to get any particular  flavours too. In fact he could not have been more helpful even sourcing decaffeinated pods for the espresso machine. Fresh milk and biscuits were also provided. 
   TV channels were limited to Freeplay(?) and would be useful to foreign guests but UK channels were limited to BBC news. and Sky news.
    I really enjoyed my three days in Knighton and this was a lot to do with the comfort of my accommodation for which I must thank my hosts.

What a gem!

Arrived Friday night in howling gale. My host couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. 
You'd like early breakfast - of course. Come Saturday morning no scimpy continental breakfast but the full works freshly cooked brought to my table quickly meaning I could enjoy it and still leave in time for Ludlow.
Sunday equally good. Booked for the next fair there and then. Gems like this are hard to find.

Fantastic couldn't have been more helpful.

Travelling from Chester to take part in on LDWA challenge walk - the south Shropshire circular 26 miles from Knighton I wanted a comfortable B&B to relax in after the walk. The Red Lion exactly fitted the bill. Neil provided a warm welcome to his tastefully decorated establishment. He showed me to my room which was immaculately clean warm and cosy. My shower was excellent  and the locally sourced complementary toiletries smelled devine . Above all the bed and linen were so comfortable and of the highest quality which was particularly welcome after day out walking in the beautiful local countryside. My vegetarian breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious. Overall I felt rested relaxed and well looked after!

Excellent overnight stay in the South Shropshire town of Knighton

We had a wonderful night's stay in Neil's BnB. We received the warmest of welcomes, followed by just the right level of attentiveness throughout our stay. The room was clean, cosy and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble, including offering to leave a bottle of wine out for us when we got back from dinner out! The cooked breakfast was delicious and such a great start to the day the following morning. We can't recommend The Red Lion Inn highly enough and it's in a brilliant location for exploring Offa's Dyke, Ludlow and beyond.

A gem!

We stayed here for 2 nights after 6 days of walking the southern half of the Offa’s Dyke Path.  Neil, the owner could not have been more welcoming and friendly.  Really lovely, spacious room, excellent breakfast.  We will return to do the top half of the walk. 

Friendly host, great B and B 

My self and three friends stayed at the Red Lion for four nights as we walked Offa's Dyke. Neil and Cath made us very welcome, providing invaluable advice on taxis and the best places to eat. The rooms are excellent with all the amenities you would expect.  Breakfast was also  very good. As well as nice rooms, there are comfy sofas down stairs where you can relax after a days walking. Highly recommended. 

Excellent B & B, highly recommended. 

Good stay and Neil Taylor was very welcoming and helpful. He sugggested Watson’s Ale House for a beer (as the Red Lion is no longer a pub) and it was excellent. 
Did a nice circular 6 mile walk along Offa’s Dyke from the Red Lion.
