A lovely B&B.  In Lerwick.

Calum is an excellent host. We were very well looked after. The breakfasts were very good, and the dining room is charming and  original. We liked the location as it was so close to everything in Lerwick- literally minutes in to the town centre.
Our room was on the first floor. It was fairly compact, but really clean and comfortable.

So close to everything

We recently stayed at the Eddlewood Guest House and would definitely stay here again! Our host, Calum, was warm, friendly and accommodating. Communications prior to our stay were excellent and helpful. This B&B provides an excellent location for exploring Lerwick as the main area is only a few walking minutes away. Our room was on the top floor, but Calum was more than willing to help with suitcases. Our room was large, and we had more than enough space. Breakfasts were amazing! A full Scottish was offered, as well as light fare such as yogurts, toast, porridge and such. We had an excellent experience!

Great Location!

We stayed here for 6 nights and had a very decent sized room on the top floor which gave us terrific views. The guesthouse is perfectly placed in Lerwick, easy walk to everywhere in town and close to the main road both North and South. The bathroom was large with a bath over the shower and  room could be serviced every day if you required it. There was also a washing machine and dryer for guest use. A full Scottish breakfast was available every day if you desired it but there was also yoghurt fruit cereal etc. There is no designated parking, just what is available on the street. We never had an issue accessing parking. The owner is relatively new to the business I think and he is a very nice, friendly chap. Rooms could do with a little bit of updating and dusting but overall a very happy and comfortable week for us.

A week on Shetland

In my plans for my trip to Shetland, I hadn’t planned on staying here but after a mix-up with where I was originally booked into, it meant an emergency visit online to find somewhere to stay and hence how I ended up here.

Steve provided a great welcome to his home and explained everything to me before I trudged my way up to the top floor where my room was. I was glad my bag was on my back as the staircase was quite narrow so I wouldn't like to try and drag a [handle type] bag up as well as yourself.

Being on the top floor did have its plusses though, I had a great view over Lerwick. And if you love pine and pink, you will really love this room! The room had a double bed as well as a single one. There were a couple of chairs there too but they were really low to the ground, so I sat on the bed instead. Decent sized TV too and loved that there was a docking station to charge your phone up with. The bathroom was a fairly decent size too and I liked the fact toiletries were provided in as you'd run out/forgotten something of your own.  Given the structure of the building, even with signal boosters in the room, I couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work. Thankfully I have a large data allowance so was able to pair up my iPad with my iPhone so I could use it.

Unfortunately whoever was booked into the room next door were of the noisy variety who liked hearing the sound of their own LOUD voice regardless of how late into the night it is!  It was very late on (nearer midnight) before it finally went quiet and I could fall asleep.

Breakfast I thought was a bit on the basic side and it showed, as the day before there was a more substantial cooked breakfast provided and I didn't need to eat lunch, whereas because of the lesser options here (and equally me not liking 2/5ths of those 5 items) it meant I had to have lunch that day because I was hungry.  However, what was delivered was freshly cooked and very tasty. A big shout out though to Steve’s sister who was a great breakfast host.

I’ve seen a few comments about parking and while there isn’t any right outside the property (all double yellows) there was plenty of spaces in the street round the corner so about a 3-4 minute walk away.  If you had heavy bags (and someone with you) you could drop off/pick off just round the corner and then go sort the car out.

Good emergency accommodation!

We were exceptionally well welcomed here, from the original booking phone call, through the daily interaction, to the cheery farewell.  The breakfast was delicious.  The room was a little dated and - even acknowledging the building age/type - would benefit from a little makeover attention.  Nevertheless, we count this booking/stay a big success.

Friendly welcome; comfortable stay

So easy to walk anywhere "downtown", but....we had a rental car and it was nerve-racking each evening to try to find a space on the street - but, on the upside, we always found one. Rooms were a a bit small and odd-shaped, but clean and comfortable. Great breakfasts! Never told about the laundry service - wish we had known.

Great Location - A Bit of a Mixed Experience

We stayed for 2 nights on our short stay in Shetland. A very pleasant family run B&B near the old harbour. Large room and excellent breakfast. We were pleased to be able to drop off our bags after arriving early on the ferry, and leaving them for pick up for the evening Terry when leaving.

An excellent stay

Home to the warmest, most enthusiastic and energetic of the landlord. Very pleasant, very clean guest house. Spacious tastefully decorated room. Bright bathroom. Breakfast of choice is very cozy and served by a very attentive lady.

I'm not sure.

Great twin room with working TV, strong shower, clean and fresh sheets / towels. Cooked breakfast every day with many options for cereal and toast. Owners are friendly and helpful with lots of local knowledge on hand. Eddlewood is also in a good location for accessing many Lerwick facilities and the Sumburgh bus goes past right outside.
