The apartment was really dirty.  Stains on bedding and the sofa was filthy.  It was apparent that the shower temperature gauge had been interfered with so that the shower never got hot.  I reported to reception on Saturday and she said she would send someone up.  However it was  still cold on Sunday so i couldnt shower.  Water from taps was very hot so it was shower specific.  When we went to book out all other guests said they had same problem.  What a petty thing to do.  There was clearly no problem with hot water per se, just getting it in the shower.  Most accommodation will take card details to potentially make a charge for damage.  However BASE take £100 and then it takes up to 10 days to return it.  Imagine the interest they make on those payments.  Totally disgusted and it ruined my birthday weekend.

We are currently here now, there are a lot of people complaining. It's very difficult to get through to anyone with numbers provided. The fire alarm has just been ringing for an hour and all numbers provided are either unavailable or no one takes the call. I have had to wake three children up to evacuate our room which is fine but when you cant get in contact with someone to find out whats happening its a bit of a joke. Rooms are dirty people have had to be moved. No batteries in tv remote, no where to leave luggage, no toilet roll, broken blinds, dirty cutlery, bed sofa won't go back so no sofa to sit on.  Avoid this place at all cost

Terrible avoid

Very basic accommodation with a kitchenette, a TV and 2 bedrooms when we arrived we had to go to another street to a little office to check in then to our apartment about 100 yards away very central and very easy to get around Liverpool. 

Found the rules to be a bit OTT. You must accept these before arrival. We had a message and over 21

Stayed in Duke St apartments with friends for a weekend in July. The check in was quick and receptionist friendly. We were only alloted 2 keys even though they're were 5 of us staying. The entry to the building is around the corner from the reception on the main road and is by fob. Its part of an overall apartment block and the initial impression wasn't great. The inner courtyard is bare and grim and things aren't signposted too well. Our apartment was a few floors up and the apartment itself was great. The 2 bedrooms were clean and comfy. Double beds were a bit narrow but not the worse. One room had an entrance suite while the general bathroom was between the 2 rooms. Water pressure isn't the strongest but again not the worst. No hand towels provided and the bath towels are small and very thin. The kitchen and dining area are upstairs..couches are comfy and one is converted to a sofa bed. The balcony is narrow but is a nice viewing point. Stay in general was good but the downside was security. One morning two men entered our apartment and while they apologies and left very quickly it left us thinking how easy it was for someone to enter. While there is a latch and chain inside. If part of your group are out later than you, you will more than likely have to wake up to let them in, unless you don't mind going to sleep leaving them off. I definitely didn't. There was a lot of noise from neighbouring apartments with doors banging constantly as well. While it was in a good location and good value for money I just wouldn't recommend it for future stays. The security that a hotel brings plus having your own access key is just worth it.

Do not stay here - we were in shock - disgusting and filthy and unsafe. Lift does not work. Unsafe environment. False advertising. Arrived and left immediately - dangerous filthy rathole of a place. Reported to Airbnb immediately 

Avoid!

I have never visited a crack house but I imagine it to be something along the lines of the entrance to this property. See photo. Upon opening the door an overwhelming stench quickly floods the senses and had us gagging by the time we reached the first floor. Not so smelly inside the apartment but lingering odour never the less. The furniture in the main living room is a disgrace. See photo. Beds and bedrooms are OK but showers are from the 90s.
I paid approx £700 for two nights in a 3 bed. I presumed at this price that there would be a level of accommodation which matched the cost, it does not, in fact I feel cheated. Where is your responsibility Base?

This property is a scam, avoid booking it!

I got attracted by their competitive price, Later on, I found out about their hidden fees which cost me twice the booking price. The initial rent was £100/night, but I had to pay £200 extra on top of that for late check-in, parking fee, and a large sum for the deposit. 
They will ask for a deposit of £400- £500 and freeze the amount for 14 days in their account before you step into the property, if they find any minor sign of wear or tear then you should forget about your deposit!
It is a scam to avoid!!

Absolutely gorgeous place to stay! We stay in Liverpool regularly and have only just found these apartments and can honestly say we will be using them from now on. The kitchen is open plan with the living space and is spacious and clean and bright. The two bedrooms have comfortable double beds in. Very impressed.

A definite hidden gem

3 of us booked this the day before arrival and we were all so impressed. We had 2 rooms with 2 doubles. I took the back room and my friends took the (louder) one overlooking Duke Street. My room was dark and quiet - I slept well. A big comfy bed, but it was a winter duvet during summer months so pretty hot!

We didn't find the wifi code til checkout and the signal was limited for 4G in the flat (it was stuck in the kitchen by the sink). 

Large kitchen - even with a washing machine! You could dine in as the flat was so liveable.

The only cons:
Late check in and 10am check out, reception my friends said was difficult to find.

I would 100% recommend this place and would stay again.

Excellent apartment

We came here on 19th September for a few nights. 3 adults and 2 children. 

On arriving and looking at building I thought oh goodness what have we booked! Went to reception collected keys and were given directions to wheee to go. 

Lifts available! Thank goodness as we had a lot of luggage. On entering we were absolutely delighted. 

It had a long corridor with r cupboards for coats. Have free wi fi. We usually take extensions with us but no need here plenty of plug sockets even in bedrooms. The lounge/kitchen was blue sofas and opened up to the amazing balcony with city views. 

Also the bedroom adjoining to this had a glass ceiling which u could partially open a couple of the windows if it gets stuffy. Good double bed, wardrobe, dressing table and spacious. It had doors that opened to balcony too but door was faulty so we never used this door again on visit.

The kitchen had complementary coffee, sugar and milk. Very welcoming. Fridge freezer is the one I want for our home really amazing, big size with ice dispenser and other fancy things!! Kitchen had all you need if you wished to cook! We didn’t !! And a dishwasher. Liquid etc already there

Another room with dresser and double bed with a wardrobe.

It had a bathroom with shower in and was of good size with complimentary products 

The next bedroom again good size with an en suite, lovely shower room 

Could not fault this really. Ideal for families and kids. Liked the fact that they are strict on who comes and stays and you have to be over 25. They make it clear not to do loud parties and be courteous of others 

Parking can be done outside property so you can unload. Car park across the road or you can drive a couple of streets and you can see cheaper parking £6 all day with staff about to help and guide lost souls like us!!!! 

Everything is walking distance all you need is comfy shoes and google map. Off you go and enjoy this beautiful city!!

Plenty of places to eat. There is even a restaurant next door to where we stayed. Looked classy but didn’t get a chance to go to as we were always out and about!
