The hotel was very clumsy, very cramped mattresses on the hotel floor. The allegedly handicapped hotel had at the beginning a stairway to the lobby. The hallway was extremely narrow and there was also a high stairway to the toilet. There was absolutely no relief for the handicapped! Despite other statements from the hotel! Drunk guests quarrelled outside the hotel, even throwing objects. Besides, they completely fell down!

Absolute decrease

Hotel was dirty and old. It was cold in the room and heater was not working. The kettle still had water in it from old customer stay. There was no blanket given just the bed cover. Staff were nice....

Dirty

If I could give zero stars I would.  This hotel is disgusting and should not be open.  We were a group of 3 couples and every room smelt awful and was dirty with ground in grime.  There were unknown substances up the walls and even on the ceilings. The electrics unsafe and I've seen cleaner public toilets.  One couple in our party actually decided after a couple of hours to sleep in their car!  This hotel should be shut down

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Absolutely disgusting hotel I tell you what I can’t even believe it! The curtains were hanging off the rail, the doors were hanging off the cupboards, unidentifiable liquids everywhere, mattress was so uncomfortable the springs were sticking out then we noticed there was a wardrobe door underneath the mattress to cover a hole in the bed?? I could cry with the pain I’m in with my back this morning! Fag holes in the blanket and a scarf found with white stuff on?? Under the bed we found condom wrappers and laughing gas bottles. The room and bathroom were so dirty I actually didn’t have a shower as I would be dirtier coming out of it! There was no hand wash or any shower gels/shampoos. Also we were very cold due to no heating in our room, we told the people on reception twice but they were really not bothered. I would rather sleep in the car than here again. Don’t know how it is still open DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Would not recommend

Good location and staff were friendly.  Inexpensive for Greater London but that is all that is good about it. 
Overall cleanliness is very poor, curtains hanging off poles. No tea coffee facilities. More than half the lights in bedroom not working. 
No remote for tv. 
If you want something very cheap then it may suit but don't believe it even meets minimum standard. Shame it could be very nice but desperately needs updating and a good scrub. 

Twickenham stop over

This disgusting hotel is a literal health hazard. The rest of the reviews are totally accurate. There was ‘snot’ on the pillow cases, unidentifiable liquids on the walls. There was dirty boxers and a used condom just out the window. A used bloody plaster left in the room. The shower has not been cleaned for god knows how long. Total disgrace and the place should be shut down. Management won’t take my complaint seriously and won’t refund me, even though I threatened to inform trading standards/council. Will post photos ASAP. Will be taking further action probably through the court. This place needs shutting down, totally unfit for human habitation.

AVOID AT ALL COST!

This was a last minute booked & for £65 i wasnt expecting much, but the room was dirty , didnt look like they even put the hoover around , the windows were so dirty you could hardly seen out of them. We when to bed with our clothes on just to be on the safe side. Plus no food was offered which im surprised at seeming it was a hotel as such. you are also on the heathrow flight path so if your an light sleeper forget it.
On the plus side its only 2 miles from Twickenham,  which we when to see the England v Scotland  game & 4 miles from heathrow.  The guy at reception was very friendly but  all in all if you dont mind sleeping anywhere this is the place for you.

Basic & drity 

A wonderful hotel with a guaranteed warm welcome. 

We stopped in a group of 7 with two rooms, one 3 bed and one 4 bed. 

A wonderfully spacious room, the mattress was the most comfortable I've slept on in years. The bathroom was spotless with excellent shower and the room overall was a pleasure to stop in.

There is a very distant 'hum' of aeroplanes coming in to land at Heathrow but to the untrained ear this won't be a problem. 

Will definitely stop here again.

A delight

Stayed in the Shalimar with 3 friends as we were going to watch England at Twickenham. Upon arrival the staff were very welcoming even though it did appear it was the first time they had checked any guests in we had to double check we were at the correct place. 
When we arrived in the room it was basic but what more do you need after 16 pints of Guiness? 
After we arrived back at the hotel after watching a cracking game of rugby and eating in a fantastic curry at a local restaurant (would definitely call the day before to book to avoid disappointment) we got to our room and it felt like we were sat in the Sahara, but was certainly a ‘warm’ welcome after the cold walk home.
The facilities were minimal but the TV worked so we were able to watch Match of the Day. Kettle worked so were able to have a midnight brew and biscuit (take your own - chocolate hob nobs would be my recommendation)!
Beds were what can be expected for the price. If you are looking for a romantic retreat I would look elsewhere however if you just want a place to rest your head (and stay very warm) after the rugby then this is the place for you at a very reasonable price!!

Twickenham stay over 

A very unattended hotel. In this price range, there are certainly better ones. According to the hotel, disabled people were just, but this is not the case. The rooms made a very uncomfortable and unattended impression and could be renovated again.
