We stayed at Number 8 for six nights during our last trip to Ireland. The guesthouse is beautiful, very clean and comfortable. There is parking and it is a ten-minute walk from the Peace Bridge. Crossing the bridge you are in the most famous Derry, the one surrounded by walls to understand us. The location is very comfortable and quiet. Bob and Karen are exquisite people with whom it is pleasant to converse and they have given us many tips even for walking around. Great breakfast. We hope to return sooner or later :)

Spent house, spent Karen and Bob.

The Number 8 Guesthouse was our first B&B experience on our 4 week holiday in Ireland and Karen and Bob didn’t disappoint. They went above and beyond, Bob had fantastic travel tips to make good use of our time. The location was perfect, short stroll over the Peace Bridge into the city centre. Thank you Karen and Bob, your hospitality will be remembered forever, we hope you enjoyed the Australian Shiraz.

Beautiful room, outstanding hosts

What a wonderful stay in a fantastic and beautiful home. Karen & Bob we’re so friendly and kind. I had a great nights sleep with the electric blanket! The breakfast was delicious and Karen helped to accommodate my special diet. As I was travelling on my own I really appreciated the private parking and felt very safe. Looking forward to staying again soon with friends. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay at ‘Number 8 Guesthouse’!
Location is perfect : walking distance from the city centre and in a quiet area.
The hosts are very nice, helpful and gave us a warm welcome.
The room and the bathroom are very clean, bright and comfortable.
And the breakfast... Probably the best we had during our stay in Ireland : delicious, with fresh products.
We often find good places to stay but rarely as great as ‘Number 8 Guesthouse’!
We definitely recommend it!

Excellent B&B!

We spent two nights here as part of our tour of Northern Ireland and were very pleased we booked this B&b. Bob greeted us and took our heavy cases up to our room which was extremely clean and very comfortable. I really appreciated the pot of tea Bob made us on arrival and the mini sponge cakes were very tasty. Karen’s breakfasts were delicious, in particular the fruit salad which was a nice treat. Highly recommend this B&b for any visit to the city. 

A warm welcome

I visited Derry to do a course last weekend and stayed at Number 8 Guesthouse. I was only looking for somewhere to get my head down for the night but was in for an amazing surprise. From my arrival I was made most welcome. Having just driven for over six hours Bob sat me down and brought a welcome pot of tea and a slice of lemon drizzle cake. When Karen arrived shortly afterwards she made me equally welcome. I was asked what I wanted for breakfast (full English or Irish depending on whether you say Londonderry or Derry!) and what time I wanted it. I was not disappointed; the breakfast was fit for a king!

Bob even offered to drop me off at my course venue. One can't BS this sort of welcome; this was above and beyond what you'd expect from a guesthouse. The room was wonderful; none of the clinical hotel style but perfectly appointed. 4 star luxury at a reasonable price. Advice and a city map were given on what to see if time was available; I, unfortunately, only got to see the Peace Bridge. I'd love to return to see more of the city of Derry and I know exactly where I want to stay: Number 8 Guesthouse. Thank you Karen and Bob for being such excellent and friendly hosts. I'll be back.

It's worth visiting Derry just to experience such wonderful hospitality and comfort.

Unfortunately, we only stayed one night in this beautiful B&B and it was like feeling at home: Karen and Bob welcomed us warmly into their tastefully furnished home for the Christmas holidays, a real confectioner. Every detail was perfect: spacious and clean room and bathroom, availability of indoor parking, downtown Derry reachable both on foot and by car, typical and abundant Irish breakfast prepared on time plus cookies, yogurt, cereals, jams, fresh and dried fruit. In short, a brief experience but one that allowed us to live in full Irish lifestyle and start a delicious tour of our Ireland. If you have to go back to the area, then we definitely recommend you.

A fabulous stay in Ireland

We were greeted very warmly by Karen and Bob and provided with tea and great tips for Derry. The room was very lovingly decorated, very quiet and you could get tea or coffee at any time. The location is good, you can easily walk to the city centre. The breakfast was very diverse and incredibly delicious - coffee, tea, juice, eggs any style, cheese, sausage, jam, fresh fruit... no desire remained open. The breakfast area by the window with a view of the beautiful corridors is something very special. It was the best B&B of our Irish trip and we would love to be back. Since without the grass we were driving, we drove back to Bob Wolf's garden. Thanks again for everything, even Jutta, thanks for the love garden:-)

Our best B&B in all of Ireland

Perfect experience, Karen and Bob were the best guests we've ever met in Ireland, very nice structure, spacious and comfortable room, super comfortable bathroom, high-end breakfast, homemade soda bread, scones and jam (it's not that common anymore...) and everything very clean, refined and tasteful, will remain a great memory of Derry for us!

The best b&b in Ireland

They were very kind from the beginning. they showed us perfectly how to move around the area. the house is very nice and very well conditioned. i really liked the breakfast and the area where we have breakfast. in general perfect. thanks to the owners for their kindness.
