We booked a room in this hotel today.

It's the worst booking we've made, and we want to forewarn others, to prevent you from having a similar experience. 

Firstly we booked the room through a third party, in this instance hotels.com. 

The price was low and it included breakfast, so we were content.

I called the hotel shortly afterwards to enquire about breakfast times. The employee was rude his telephone manner was shambolic. He told me that we didn't get breakfast with our room, I politely explained that I could forward on the details, showing that it included breakfast, he continued to be short with me and dropped the line.

I contacted hotels.com, the nice gentleman from hotels.com attempted to reason with the hotel and ask if we may have a refund and book elsewhere.

Unfortunately the Baltimore wouldn't honour this request.

When we later arrived at the hotel, the employee grilled me on my dissatisfaction, he then took a £50 cash deposit, following this he told.me I'd need ID, otherwise I'd not enter the room.

Upon entering the room, the electrical box was hanging open, the walls were full of cracks and chips.

The doors and cupboards were hanging off the units, the room was dusty and the smell was unpleasant at best. 

My wife wasn't remotely interested in staying the night, and u assume they would have tried to bill us for the preexisting damage inside the room. I took both videos and pictures upon entering the room, in order to cover my back.

I handed the key straight back, the employee began to argue with me, despite me staying polite throughout. He said I'd not receive any refund and told me not to record the hotel any further.

We ended up booking alternative accommodation, we've had a lovely evening, and it's worth it, even if it means being our of pocket for booking a second hotel.

I'm.not a big one for reviews, certainly not negative ones. However I wouldn't want anyone else to have this experience.

Avoid this hotel for your overall health, well being quality of stay and your pocket, because you'll almost certainly leave, and book an alternative place to stay.

Hotel from hell. This place could honestly make the television, for one of those nightmare experiences.

If you want a hotel that's very noisy, intimidating eastern european men hanging around landings, partying. Unhelpful young staff unless you need anything illegal then this is the place for you. Otherwise dont waste your money.

Felt unsafe

We went here for a night stay before an England friendly. The room was perfectly adequate and the beds were comfy. They allowed us to take food in the bars at night. The staff were friendly and gave us twin beds as requested. The hotel was also clean and the place was good for food. Romeos pizza was excellent next to it. However when we went down for breakfast we sat and weren’t allowed to order anything. They brought out the worst food I’ve ever had. The toast was buttered bread. No bacon, no sausage, no pancakes, no buffet. The free breakfast is advertised but I’d recommend you eat somewhere else.

Great hotel. Terrible food

Get what you pay for...... breakfast was lovely ...... however juices were warm and dining room a bit small....... but garden area was beautifully done...... staff were very friendly and accomodating

Somewhere to sleep and eat after a night out

We stayed for 2 nights as we were going to Rock the North East Festival at Albert Park, which was an ideal location to walk there.

The room we were given was tiny, wasn't the best for cleanliness, no wardrobe, just a frame to hang stuff up. There was a mark on the quilt cover, and the room generally wasn't up to standard.

Breakfast was decidedly average. On our second morning, there wasn't any fried or scrambled egg, just soft boiled eggs with no egg cups. Had to ask for tea or coffee. The lady who ran it was rushed off her feet, and there were two other gentlemen, who thought clearing tables and serving toast was beneath them.

All in all, if the festival is on at Albert Park next year, we won't be staying here.

Stayed in better 

We arrived and checked in he couldn’t find our booking for like 5 minutes then finally took us upto a room, once we were in the room we realised we were in someone else’s room there was a bag and a charger plugged in and an open bottle of water, also dirty footprints on bathroom floor, we rang reception he came up n took the stuff then left n said he’d look into it to try return the stuff, there was also radiators etc hanging off the walls, he rang back 5 minutes later saying he’d move our rooms incase which was great, and just popped the bag etc bsck where it was straightened the bed up n left the room however we had drank out the cups but he just left them, then he took us to s new room thankfully, much better then the last and no one else was staying there 😂, however was still a bit dirty and no lock on the door, mould all round windows, personally I wouldn’t return, all the male members of staff we met were lovely, however the female member of staff was rude to my partner on multiple occasions

Would not revisit

Can't particularly complain on the price but during my stay rooms didn't look anything like the pictures, barely any room to move around in, the 'double bed was two single mattresses pushed together that kept separating in the night and incredibly uncomfortable. After the first night had no hot water, I understand that the was a boiler issue that they got sorted on the day but there was no communication to us on this, and finally to top it all off every evening when we returned the key card for the room never worked and had to get staff to sort it every night. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you need somewhere cheap and a bed.

Dissapointing

My sister and I decided to go visit family who lived in Middlesbrough that we hadn’t seen in years, excited we booked this hotel through booking.com, had to pay in full immediately and upon phoning our cousins we were told to cancel immediately as it had a really bad reputation in the area as being dirty! I phoned back immediately but was told we could cancel but would not get one penny back in a refund! Booking.com asked them if they would re-think their decision as a good will gesture as we were cancelling wishing 7 minutes of making the booking but the answer was no!
We decided we couldn’t afford to pay twice and as we would be out with family most of the time and only had to go there to sleep we would try to rough it.
We arrived at approximately 15.30hrs on 11th November 2022 and it didn’t look too bad from outside, after all the photo’s on the website looked great, so maybe our cousin had gotten it wrong or there were new owners? 
When we went inside there was NO reception desk or receptionist as shown in website photo’s, the floor tiles were all cracked and broken, there were tiles missing off of the walls and the view of the dining room was dire! No beautiful white linen tablecloths, again as viewed on the website but multi coloured plastic ones, the type you get in a greasy spoon cafe! Oh and the smell, of my goodness it really was something else!
A man came out of a doorway and said he was expecting us and he would show us to our rooms, as he opened the door to the stairwell the smell actually took our breath away!! The gentleman said “sorry about the smell we are having renovations done in this bedroom” (the door at the top of the stairs) and continued on to show my sister and brother in law their room and then my single room.
In fairness the actual rooms on first glance did look clean but we were gagging on the smell and could not under ANY circumstances of slept there!
We went downstairs to tell the gentleman that we were going to try to find alternative accommodation and the reason why…… he actually said “if it’s just the smell give me an hour and I will get rid of it” The smell was a combination of dirt, body odours, grease and cooking that had built up over years!
We paid £300 to book into the Holiday Inn express for two double rooms for two nights including breakfast and parking and couldn’t recommend them highly enough!! *****
As for the Baltimore and Mr I can get rid of the smells in an hour, we took the key cards back on Sunday 13th which was our check out day as we didn’t want them to earn on the rooms twice! The smells and everything was the same!!
I wouldn’t allow my dog to stay at this hotel!
Don’t say you have not been warned!

Disgustingly Dirty and smelly

Just like to say what a great hotel this is. Just stayed here and can hand on heart say it’s the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Spent the night walloping and the bed was brilliant. Also the shower was great too. Would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and family! Thank you for letting me stay here 👍🏽

The best hotel I’ve ever stayed in

Seeing all the reviews as our one has been removed last year I will write it again!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! THEY ACCOMMODATING HOMELESS DRUG USERS! 
My self my partner and two kids age 3.5 and 7 month stayed there as we visited family near Middlesbrough IT WAS MY WORST SLEEPLES NIGHT EVER! There was people partying next to our room! Drugs, smoke , loud music it was disaster at around 1am fire alarm whent on trough whole of the hotel! Nothing happened they carried on as they where aloud to do so by the owner of the hotel. We sat in room till 5 am crying. Packed bags and left. When told at reception what has been happening I received phone call from the owner and he said that if I want our money back I have to write nice review on TripAdvisor!!!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID DISGUSTING PLACE RUN BY DISGUSTING PEOPLE!!! DANGER TO LIFE AND HEALTH! THIS HOTEL SHOULD BE SHUT AND NEVER TO BE RUN BY THOSE PEOPLE!
