Gotta say after taking myself the wife and 2 children we had a blast was a nice retreat in such a wonderful place out room was spotless prepared nicely staff spot on and food was great even homemade! I would highly recommend to anyone and anyone else saying otherwise is chatting out of there you know where!

Absolutely Brilliant

.the staff are friendly,nothing is too much trouble, breakfast is excellent,beds are comfortable,the log fire in the lounge is very inviting,games to play if you want them ,books to read,its not the ritz ,its more relaxed. if you want the ritz ,go there. we will certainly go to the ty dderw  again

Just returned from a wonderful two nights stay.  I am a solo traveller and I was pleasantly surprised to be asked to join in with the Christmas dinner celebrations which the manager was hosting for the locals, some of whom would otherwise have been spending Christmas Day alone.  This place has a great community spirit. 
Fantastic location especially for walkers.
Food good. Rooms clean, comfy bed.
 Loved every minute of my stay. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else on Angelsey.

Fantastic Christmas stay

Where to begin! Our staff Christmas party was abysmal. On arrival we waited ages to get served by a surly girl and we were the only people in there! There was no festive feel at all, no Christmas deccies or music. The place was scruffy. The food was inedible, absolutely atrocious. The owner was scruffy and unprofessional and gave no apology whatsoever for the dreadful experience. No wonder the place is empty!

Terrible, this 1 star is generous

The hotel was freezing cold with no heating, it was in almost darkness no lights on, leaking lounge ceiling water damage to another area of lounge ceiling, no fires lit, no bar open ripped damaged seats, unpacked boxes in darts area.
Bedroom clean and tidy bathroom clean but again freezing cold. 
Staff not professional in their manner or dress.

Disgusting

Last minute booking for a Saturday night away. Nice clean, comfortable room. Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Bit suprised the bar was not open on a Saturday night, but not many people staying so maybe not worth it for them. Great location - 15 walk into Moelfre village. Would recommend for the price we paid.

Great value stay 

All of the reviews about this place needing renovation and cleaning are true.  Thank goodness we only booked one night.  We also had no hot water the morning we checked out.  Would hate to guess what the restaurant kitchen looks like.  Breakfast was good, staff were friendly, location is very good.  Would not stay here again.

Needs major renovation & cleaning

Such a great place, the views are spectacular and the service at Ty dderw is great, the food is amazing, and the rooms are lovely. I would recommend this place to anyone. I will be coming again! Thank you very much ty dderw. Me and the family had a great time

Amazing!

We first visited here last August, at that time the hotel was tired but there was the promise of new life, as there were new proprietors. So this year we booked again, it seemed more expensive from memory but we paid, thinking that it was probably reflective of an upgrade. How disappointed were we on arrival? There had been no noticeable upgrade, it appeared older and tireder, the welcome on arrival was non existent, we had to actively seek someone out! The carpets are soiled throughout, as are the dining room and lounge chairs, in addition to which the majority of the seating arrangements are broken (springs and webbing are no longer functioning). The main public areas are in need of a deep clean. The bedrooms fair a little better, on first inspection the bedding is clean, although the valances are less so, the extractor fan in the bathroom no longer works, hence the mould on the ceiling, the sealants around the bathroom have lifted resulting in a fabulous bacteria trap. All of the above is reflected in our hosts manner, sadly she too seemed tired and jaded, with little awareness of the customer, readily offering poor excuses for her inattentiveness. Appreciating that upgrades cost money and this might not be available, it has to be said that money is not required for cleanliness or attentative customer service, both of which are significantly lacking.  There is a need for a proactive eye for detail, attention and customer service before this venue becomes anything like worthy of its price. Having looked at the same priced local competition for next year, which has 4* & 5*, we will not be returning again.  

Very poor 

We stayed here for one night on the way to Holyhead ferry so we only really needed a bed for the night with something to eat. The kitchen was closed when we got there. The receptionist said the manager should have sent an email to let us know but she didn’t. The room didn’t have enough beds, the only member of staff around was the excellent receptionist who then had to put up an extra bed for us. The room was shabby - the tiny window didn’t close, toilet leaked. As other reviews said the manager was no where to be seen, everything left to the receptionist , who was doing a great job but clearly at the end of her tether. All a bit of a shambles, I would not book again and would have been very disappointed if we were staying here for anything more than a one night stop over.
