Found Thelma to be very rude. We’ve used this pool once or twice every month for over a year. We’ve dealt with the man over the phone before and I found him to be very rude but I let it go. Today we arrived 10minutes early so let the kids start getting ready as no one was in the pool. Thelma came in and was very rude and ended up really scaring our son from her tone. The whole place needs some serious work the only reason we’ve carried on using it is because it’s private but with owners like they are we won’t be returning. Good luck for the winter months if this is how you treat locals

Rude owners

Boswedden House was the only place that we could find that would accommodate our family of 14 and our dog for a holiday in Cornwall. Very nice house in a nice location and Thelma was very hospitable and adaptable to our requirements. The pool was an added bonus and was great when the weather didn't permit us to go to the sea. I feel like the website may need updating, though, since the house seems to have greatly changed since the introduction video was filmed. Also, we were informed that there would be a firepit that we could use and there was not. Some of the showers were either boiling hot or freezing cold and others were very weak, but, overall, we had a very enjoyable stay.

Pleasant Stay

Stayed from a Friday evening to the next Friday morning! Delayed arrival due to catching a later train than expected. Made to feel very welcome by the co-owners, Thelma & Nigel. Most of the rooms were booked, and I had reserved a double room just for myself.Loved the attention to environmental - friendliness, starting with the loos. A lovely small pool available every morning before breakfast when it was then used by local community and others from further afield. Guests did have access to it during the afternoons on request. On the grounds was a surreal labyrinth whose mystic charms were explained by Nigel. I liked the additional space near the pool for communal use such as early morning meditation, yoga, etc. Yoga mats are available, and a class is run by a yoga teacher on Friday morning during term time. Food served was exceptionally good, and my needs as a diabetic were met (helpful to let them know in advance as Agave Syrup had to be ordered for my porridge instead of the higher GL honey available.Despite heavy use, the facilities were kept very clean daily and well maintained. In a beautiful location, just minutes away from the less touristy Cape Cornwall, and a brisk walk over a few easy stiles brings you to the town of St Just. Went with another guest to the amazing Minack Theatre, reachable by one bus that changes name & direction at Lands End. Also, by 2 buses to Michael Mount, a couple of miles away from Penzance. Well worth a visit but bear in mind the tidal effects on the causeway to Castle. Walked there but spent so much time that I had to take a ferry back (cost all of £2). Overall, this was a brilliant place to stay in magical Cornwall, and I shall return soon, maybe later in the year or next Summer. Full marks for friendliness, care & warmth. Thanks for making my stay so happy and enjoyable !

A week in the most southwesterly town in Cornwall

Night before cycling Lands End to John OGroats and we were put here for the night. What a location!! lovely place, fantastic spot and very friendly people.
Coffee on arrival was served, my room was small but i did not need more
Breakfast was great and all in all i could not fault it.

Lovely place

We spent 4 nights at Boswedden House in early August, and we paid near on £100 per night and was expecting something far superior to what we had. 
First of all, the B&B is in a nice location...right on top of Cape Cornwall which is beautiful. However, the place itself was sorely lacking. We arrived just after 6.30pm on a Thursday, and we were greeted quite coldly by a lady who said she was new...very unwelcoming and left a sour taste straight away. She had no interest in holding a conversation at all, which (for a first time B&B user) I wasn't expecting. We weren't shown around and had no idea what facilities were there. We booked a double bed and just had two singles pushed together (which is not the same, especially when you nearly end up on the floor between them). We had no clean towels for 4 nights and our room wasn't cleaned at all (even after leaving the 'Please clean our room' sign on the door). The bathroom needs updating, there were floor tiles coming up when you walked on them. The breakfast was mediocre, they offer pancakes however they're store brought, cold and dry. You had to take your shoes off to go upstairs, which got a little irritating (and yes I know it's new carpet, but do guests really care about that? Why should guests have to do that?) There was never anyone around to ask questions, even when we tried knocking the private door downstairs for new towels...no one answered and were told when we checked out 'I wish you'd told me sooner'. We tried...we saw the pair who own it once each on our four night stay and the lady shook my hand but completely ignored my partner. It was a little uncomfortable to say the least, the whole stay was and we definitely will not be staying again or recommending.

Not worth the money you pay!

To get here, you must follow the Cape Cornwall road. First warning - narrow road, if there is opposite direction traffic, the fun begins...

The room we had was very small, almost no space besides the furniture in it, and having to take shoes off to go upstairs resulted in guests appearing with bare feet for breakfast... Goodness.

Speaking of breakfast, this was very standard fare, neither remarkable for the ingredients nor for the quality of the preparation. 

80 GBP was too much. I stayed in better places that charged 65 GBP.

To be fair, this may have been a nicer place some years ago, but it appears also to be in need of room refurbishment.

Not worth the money

We had a wonderful stay with lots of peace and a warm hostess. The corner room overlooking the sea is really cozy and beautiful. From here you can go for a walk to the country right across the Coast Path. Otherwise you should have a car. St. Ives is very close. Overall, we enjoyed the four nights. Breakfast is great and you have a great choice. From typical English to toast you are too hot.

A nice place to rest

By far this B&B (hotel) had made a very good impression in the English country house style. The welcome was very warm, the whole house including the rooms very clean and well maintained and nicely decorated. The breakfast was rich and on demand you even got the extras served. The whole staff was super friendly and welcoming. Very highly recommended!

Clean, very friendly and feudal

We walked sixth on the beautiful Southwest Coast Path from St. Ives to Falmouth. By a lucky accident we discovered the Boswedden House in St. Just. Since the hotel in St. Just could only accommodate us for one night, we were looking for a B&B and found this beautiful house outside the village. We were greeted kindly by Thelma, who offered to drop us off the next morning to spare us the heavy backpacks. At the hotel, my husband noticed that he had forgotten about the Boswedden House. I called Thelma, who had gotten off the bus and immediately sat down to bring us the forgotten house.

What a beautiful house

B&B is located outside the village in a quiet and picturesque place. Nearby there is a golf course where we saw various rabbits. There is also a row of palm trees next to it. When we arrived, the owner served us in the living room milk, tea and delicious cookies. The room (we had that grey one with purple accents, it looks like it was recently refurbished) with two single beds and it is very pretty and tastefully furnished. There is the kit for making coffee/tea/hot chocolate, some cookies and bars next door.
