The restaurant is very good. Food, service and staff are excellent.
Sadly  the room although it was very nice was noisy at night as it overlooked the main road. The bed was so hard it was painful to lay on. Some sort of machinery kept coming on during the night that made the room vibrate. Not sure whether this was from within the building or outside.

Visit to relatives

We always choose to eat here if we are in the area. The food is of a good standard and the staff always friendly. Yesterday we enjoyed a meal at lunchtime including the Thai red curry, the famous Bell burger, and the chicken pie. There is a seating area if you just want a drink and tables outside too. Reasonably priced. We haven't stayed here, but eaten here many times.

Great village pub

The building occupies a commanding location in this pretty village and the owners appear to be making good use of the space.  It is a pub, a restaurant, a B&B and most likely the hub of the village community.  At a time when the going in the hospitality industry is tough, this business appears to be making the most of its assets.

I stayed for one night while on route to somewhere else.  I did not know the a area but was looking for somewhere cheap to stay over.  I was really quite surprised at what I got for my £60.  There is ample off-road parking and the two bar areas are comfortable, modern and welcoming.  The staff were cheerful and polite, even though I arrived late on and well into their shift.  The room I had was fully adequate; not overly large and could benefit from redecorating but perfectly fine at the price.  Likewise the bathroom and shower.

Crowning glory was the breakfast.  Full English plus all the trimmings in an impressive dining area.  For somewhere in such a remote location, this is a top place to stay when on a budget.

Excellent value B & B

we meet here 4 to 5 times a year for a brilliant family get together for a sunday roast lunch it never disappoints from when you arrive till you leave service is 5* and the roast lunch delicious hot plates very fresh veg tasty gravy and the amount you get is not skinny great pub staff and food

We have been to the Bell several times over the summer as a family and as a couple and it's never disappointed. Menu has changed for the better recently and specials are always changing. Good beers on tap and a quiet relaxed atmosphere for lunch or dinner. Highly recommended!

Consistently good food and service

The Bell is a beautiful pub with a large restaurant. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. There were a few things from the menu that weren't in stock ( fillet steak and prawns) which was a bit disappointing but there was plenty of choice to find an alternative. The food was superb. 
It was very quiet when we went , with some more people the venue would create a wonderful atmosphere. We sat next to the open fire with was lovely. The food wasn't cheap but was reasonable considering the high quality. Would visit again . 

Good food in a nice environment 

Great Pub in a quiet location.
Rooms are a bit small but clean, comfy and well equiped. Check in was easy and there is ample car parking.
The bar is split into to areas; a sit down bar and the restaurant. It looks as if it's been recently renovated and is well laid out so you are not tripping over the other tables.
Really good food menu and good selection of specials. The crab cakes were amazing!!
The staff are all really friendly and it just feels welcoming. 
I will stay here again.
