We had such a lovely stay at The Swan and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. We were looking for a weekend getaway from London and with Pulborough 1 hour away on the train and a 5 minute drive from the pub, it was perfect. Parts of the building are 800 years old, so you feel like you’re staying in a piece of history. The rooms are cosy, clean and we slept like logs. Every meal we ate was delicious too. We did an excellent 15km walk starting and ending at the pub and it there are loads more walks to do. The team looked after us so well - you couldn’t ask for more.

Thanks for having us - can’t wait to be back again soon. 

Excellent place to stay 

My wife and I and our Birthday girl daughter had a very enjoyable lunch yesterday. Food was delicious and the ordering and service was to a high Covid standard. 

Please support this pub as with all pubs restaurants etc they have been hit by little business and in their case all Goodwood’s passing business.

Lovely Birthday lunch

no vegan options other than one “vegetarian/vegan” which has feta and yoghurt - you can remove but it’s still the same price. i understand this won’t bother many but in 2020 it’s very frustrating to see little if any attempt to cater for a fairly mainstream dietary requirement.

Family group of four and evening dinner at the Swan recently, following disappointing experiences elsewhere in the area. Had a lovely oval table that seated us with plenty of space, and service was friendly and timely throughout. Food was all enjoyed tremendously and we had a lovely time. There was quite a wait for the mains, but that was clearly as they seemed to have all been freshly cooked, which was good. One very small concern was that the menu could have been a little more extensive - perhaps a steak and/or chicken option would have been nice in the mains. 

Overall a very friendly place with great food, we recommend highly and are likely to return !

Great food, very friendly service

We were looking for a base for a few days - somewhere that could host us for a pre-wedding dinner for the bridal party, family and friends, a ’hair & make up’ area on the morning of the wedding, breakfast the following morning with extra guests, and a mix of accommodation for our wedding party. Fiona, Trewan and their team were the perfect hosts - delicious food, thoughtful touches and service throughout our stay creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere, with nothing being too much trouble - all set in a charming country inn.
A huge thank you to you all for a wonderful stay!

Christening Buffet 

Three of us called in here for a late lunch and chose three entrées from the menu along with some olives and bread. All of the dishes were beautifully presented and very tasty. It was great to sit outside on the beer garden and enjoy an excellent lunch on a pleasant early summer's day.

Thank you Swan Inn for making our stay so enjoyable. 
From the point of booking to departure we were given first class friendly service. We could not have asked for more. Easy parking, excellent food with delicious evening meal and breakfasts, comfortable rooms all made for a lovely break. Easy access to Bignor Park for a wedding. The stand out point was however the helpfulness and friendliness of the landlord and staff of the inn. Nothing was too much trouble. This made our stay. Very relaxing.

Fantastic weekend stay

I stopped on a whim with 2 sons and wet dog after we have abandoned the beach due to rain and wind. We were made to fell very welcome despite being quite scruffy after beach. we had the fish and chips and it was really good. Harvey's best was great as well.

Friendly lunch after rained off beach trip

Stayed at The Swan at end of June for a wedding in room 5 . We had an improvised "canopy" bed that was aweful, after the first night I couldn't move my neck and after the second one my back was stiff as well. Both mine and my husband's feet were standing out from the bed , pillows and mattress as old as the building I think. You can feel the spring from the mattress and the wood from the bed improve . The mattress doesn't even fit the frame, no mirrors in the room , except the bathroom one , very inconvenient considering we came down here for a wedding and had to do hair and make-up. You can't have more than 2 items plugged in cause then u have no power and nothing works. The worst stay I've ever had and it was £220. A reap off. After the first night we didn't even want to try breakfast or anything in this place . No bin in the room either .
