We stopped here for food on the way home from Bath & West Show. What a lovely find, good selection of food which was freshly cooked and delicious, very friendly and welcoming staff. Easy to park, we will visit for sure if passing anytime in the future.

Great food and welcoming place

Stopped in on our way home, owner was lovely, his dog just as lovely. Meals were massive, ower even helped our youngest learn hos to play pool. Lovely atmosphere especially with the log fire on. Would highly recommend.

Homely stop for lunch

We called into the Travellers rest earlier today after spending a couple of hours at the caravan and motorhome show and we were not disappointed. We were welcomed by the owners,locals and other diners. Food was excellent value for money,very large portions. I doubt you could manage two coueses. They make their own cider so will definately be back to park up the motorhome in the carpark overnight.

Very nice cosy pub, wish it was my local. great food in ample portions and reasonable prices, great selection of cider, beers and gin. very friendly and accommodating staff. Pool table, darts board, skittle alley Thanks Nick! Hope to see you soon.

Best pit stop ever!

Our blended gang of 5 kids (4-17), a fat bulldog, and two adults descended upon the travellers rest on our way back home to Chippenham after a few days in Lyme Regis. We were tired, hungry and a couple of our party a little fractious yet we received on of the nicest welcomes I can remember that made every one of our group, including the dog, feel welcome. To top it off the menu had both standard fayre and some “exotics” like white bait, all freshly prepared and of a quality that even had the approval of picky children. I loved this place and could have spent a few hours whiling away the my time in the company of the delightful owners. My only comment would be “tidy” up the main sign, it doesn’t do this lovely place justice. If your driving along the old fosseway south of Shelton mallet, make it your business to drop in, you won’t regret it!!!!

Do not drive past!

Looking for somewhere for lunch and came across the Travellers Rest, a traditional English pub - so glad we stopped!  Friendly welcome from Sharon who pulled us a pint of Devon Red cider and Bath Gem ale.  We ordered gammon, egg and chips, and Hunters bacon melt.  Whilst we were waiting for our food a couple of the locals came in who were also very friendly and chatty.  Our food, which was cooked by the owner, was delicious - the large gammon came with two eggs and the Hunters melt was moist and tasty, generous portions too!  If we're ever near East Pennard again we would definitely eat here.

Don't drive past!

Had a fantastic time visiting Travellers rest. 
Had some refreshing drinks served by the very lovely barmaid Sharon, who greeted us with with a smile. 
My partner and I ordered some food and we were presented with one of the best meals out we'd had in a long time. What a great meal and then some!
Definitely a great value for money especially on portion size.
The pub dog Ben was very lovely too.

Tastiest Roast Rib of Beef imaginable.
 (Locally reared From James Tuckers Farm at Marshalls Elm). 
with Roast Potatoes, Yorkshire pudding,local veg including a totally delicious Red Cabbage side dish.

The Owner,Landlord and Chef,Nick Willams can certainly cook.

And the portions were SO generous.

 Bar and Table service from former Equadorian seaside Cafe Owner(4 years ) Anna now working at The Travellers was simply superb.

Open Friday's to Sunday's.

Do not miss any opportunity to pay a visit to this Traditional, personable,old fashioned values Pub for an wonderful meal.

absolutely lovely time here having a tradition british lunch . 
the owner is a lovely guy and do is the bar maid and they are very hospitable.  
i would deffinettly recommend trying his ciders.

Stopped here yesterday for lunch on way back from Bridport and so glad we did. Barmaid was lovely and friendly on the ball with customer service and attentive and the food was delicious ! 
Would definitely be back and try one of their desserts which I just couldn’t manage with a long journey ahead but wanted too ha ! 
Hope to visit again soon :-)
