Pleasant staff and hosts, quiet and very clean accommodation, lovely pool and gardens, well situated close to the airport, free bus pass for the island, great breakfast and, if you want it, a top quality evening meal. What more needs to be said.

Wonderful place for a weekend break

We stayed for a week, and found the rooms to be clean, comfortable and well-kept. the staff were very helpful in all respects. Upstairs rooms were very quiet, with no late night disturbances like you often get in hotels. The guests mostly seemed, ahem, mature so maybe that's why! Breakfast consisted of a breakfast buffet plus a la carte cooked items , which were all very tasty. Overall, I'd describe as cheap and cheerful. Although not situated in St Peter Port, public transport was good and the island is small.

Good value, great staff

I stayed at the Blue Horizon Hotel for 7 nights.in early to mid September 2019.The Hotel is extremely comfortable.I was a single traveller,but was shown much kindness from all the staff. The hotel owners are very much hands on,with julie in the kitchen and reception,and ray maintaining the beautiful gardens,and serving in the bar...As I have been a Chef for all my working life I believe that I am more than qualified to say that the food here can't be beaten..The breakfasts were magnificent,with choices to suit everybody.The evening meals were  equally excellent..Everything about this hotel was"quality". The hotel was only Five minutes walk from the spectacular southern cliffs,with wonderful views of the other channel islands..The islands buses are great and inexpensive,with each journey costing a pound or less..I hope I get the opportunity to return to guernsey,and I will definitively stay at the blue horizon again.PS Great room,great shower,! First time visit to guernsey

We stayed here for 6 days/nights as we were attending a relatives wedding. We looked at other hotels as well, but the Blue Horizon prices were easily the most competitive. The room was a good size and simply furnished and clean. Facilities - shower, kettle etc worked fine. Location was excellent, with a sea view and right next to some excellent cliff walks. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of choice. The best thing was the staff who were extremely helpful and very friendly. I would definitely stay again and recommend it. The hotel has a pool, but this wasn't in use when we went (September).

Excellent location, simple and clean, great staff

Great hotel in a beautiful part of the island. The owners and staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The food is good - there are a number of options available for breakfast and a bar is open until around 11. Very easy access to St Peter Port by taxi, bus or on foot.

Highly recommended

Due to fog and other delays we were left stranded at the end of our 10 day wonderful holiday on Guernsey.
Julie, the owner of Blue Horizon Hotel, came to our rescue and at such short notice was able to accommodate us for 2 nights.
Such a wonderful, helpful attitude in a delightful setting close to the sea. Personal attention to detail. Excellent breakfasts and kindly staff. We were able to relax after a very traumatic time. A small hotel at its best.

The hotel that saved us when in desperate straights

Good stuff: lovely staff Inc the owner, breakfast excellent, nice well kept gardens, comfy beds, clean pool (I used), great views of coast, easy access to coastal path.
Not good: bad musty smell in entrance and corridors, cramped bedroom, very dated bathroom, shower mixer tap unusable due to almost zero water pressure with scalding water coming from cold tap. Had to buy/use bottled water only, advised not to drink tap water (but to be fair we didn't receive a bill for that in the end). 
Overall, an ok stay but not worth the price tag. Better hotels on the island for same money. Older clients, early evening meal times did not suit us. Difficult to find even with satnav.


Great hospitality but......

It was with great pleasure again that we returned to this establishment, near St Peter Port. The warm welcome of Julie and her staff was always so warm. We were surprised to find there a rich, tasty, varied meal, and a real English breakfast. A comfortable, clear room. For us it is a must-have for our stay in Guernsey. Congratulations to the whole team.

We stayed at the Blue Horizon Hotel whilst in Guernsey to run the Ultra Marathon GU36. We were perhaps not their normal hotel guests and Blue Horizon not our normal choice of hotel. Most of Guernsey is seemingly a little bit behind the mainland (and understandably so), but they make up for it with beauty and hospitality. 

The Blue Horizon is perfectly situated for walking (or running) around Guernsey and you can see the sea from breakfast/dinner/the bar/some of the rooms. It very close to Sausmarez Manor which has a cute little market on a Saturday morning. 

Ray and Julie the proprietors of Blue Horizon, made our stay easy and carefree. providing everything we could possibly need and more. Some early starts meant we missed the normal breakfast, but they made us a special breakfast tray which was delivered the night before, with lots of bananas - perfect when we were running around the whole island.

We ate dinner in the hotel the night before the race, a big bowl of hearty pasta was exactly what we needed and ridiculously good value. We chatted to the other visitors staying in the hotel (we bought the average age down quite a bit, but it didn't matter one bit) and they were all interested in our activities and gave us tips after walking much of the route already. 

After the race, we got back, tired but happy, and Julie found us, up to our thighs using the pool as a sort of ice bath for our tired legs. Unconventional use of her pool I'm sure, but it did us the world of good. 

Finally, on Monday morning after the race, we got to experience Blue Horizon's fabulous (award-winning) breakfast. Full English for him, Smoked Salmon and Scrambled eggs for me, oodles of toast, the best Guernsey butter and a fruit and yoghurt breakfast dessert. For two hungry ultra runners, it was a dream!

Our room was simple and cosy with lots of coffee, hot chocolate and a travel kettle which was perfect for us on race morning, the shower was hot and there was plenty of room. What really made our stay special was not the room, but the kindness of the owners, the wholesome and hearty food and our overall experience.

5 Stars for incredible hospitality

This hotel is in the most fantastic spot for walking along the many cliff paths which are literally on the doorstep.Julie and her staff are very welcoming and make your stay worthwhile.Great selection for breakfast,limited evening meals but very enjoyable
