Denise and Alan were probably the most hospitable hosts that we had as we walked the Cotswold Way. They sat with us and some of the other guests in the comfortable  courtyard out back, telling us about the time they rode motorcycle on Route 66 in the U.S. The rooms featured a small refrigerator with a couple of beers in it, in addition to the customary coffee and tea. The breakfast also turned out to be a wonderful gathering place for all the guests. All in all, we felt comfortable, and had fun during the evening and morning we spent with them.

Comfortable, friendly accommodations!

We stayed in the Cottage Loft at Troy House and we were so happy with the size of the room. Extremely clean and the en-suite bathroom was larger than most. The bedroom’s windows opened to a quiet private courtyard. Denise provided tissues, the rare and often absent washcloth plus ample outlets for electronic devices. The bathroom was very well stocked (nice towels,  shampoos, conditioners, body washes). After five days hiking, it was awesome that Denise provided laundry service to us (and for a good price). We had our clothes back in several hours. The bedroom even has a small refrigerator in it with for a fee beverages. A nice touch and not one we’ve seen so far in our B&B’s. The bed has a separate sheet from the duvet which allows for temperature control during the night. There was ample seating area in the bedroom which also hadn’t been the norm so far on our Cotswolds hike. Well done Denise!

Ending our weeks walk on The Cotswold Way at Troy House was a real high point. (no pun intended!)

Daphne and the crew really went out of their way to make sure eveything was perfect.
Any walker knows what a difference a warm welcome makes at the end of a long day and this welcome was amongst the best we found.

Hospitality ...plus some!!

We came for the week to visit family and I’m so glad we chose Troy house. Not only is it in stunning location but the B&B is something else, it has such a lovely homely atmosphere. The owners Denise and Alan are so friendly and will give you the time of day to have a chat and cater to any of your needs. The attention to detail is out of the world, can’t recommend this place enough, we had the best time and will definitely be back. Also, if your a walker would definitely recommend staying here at Troy house, you will have the best night sleep of your life. 

Oh and you will have the best pancakes with syrup and bacon, 1000000000/10. 

Phenomenal.

Stayed visiting family and cannot recommend this place enough, Denise and the team made us feel welcome as soon as we parked up, from the cleanliness of the room to the variety and deliciousness of the breakfast, we had the best time! We have stayed in quite a few b&b’s and this one feels much different to any other, there’s a very homely feel and nothing is a hassle, we stayed for a full week and by the time it ended we didn’t want to leave! There was a few days we opted for the packed lunch rather than the breakfast and the value for money is immense. (Although I was gutted we missed out on the breakfast them days). Fresh fruit and cereals to start then a choice of an amazing full English, pancakes, salmon and eggs or an omelette, I tried them all and I cannot fault it! If only this place was chained around the country then I wouldn’t complain about any travels, will definitely be back! Thank you so much for the amazing week!

The best we’ve been!

Phenomenal. From the warm welcome, the great room with lots of thoughtful touches, the way the host will go the extra mile to make your stay the best.  And the breakfast? The best!

A fantastic find.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Troy House this weekend! Beautiful room, amazing bed, delicious breakfast, we literally couldn’t fault anything about it. Denise and Alan are the most wonderful hosts anyone could ask for - super warm and friendly and we felt like friends rather than guests. 10/10 stay all round and we will be back! 🇮🇪

Fabulous stay at Troy House!

Denise went the extra mile when we stayed, during what turned out to be a hugely stressful time, in fact, she went the extra ten miles!, I cannot get over how well we were treated, and how lovely both Alan and Denise were. The accommodation was first class, and the breakfast excellent. could not fault in any way.

My wife and I had a lovely warm welcome from the owner Denise, we stayed upstairs in the annexe at the rear of the property. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, the home cooked breakfast was delicious, we will return next time we are in the area.

Wedding

Troy House is a cosy haven in the pretty village of Painswick.  It is on the Cotswold Way and the host is very obliging and keeps a spotless and welcoming home.  Pancakes and fresh fruit for breakfast is a very welcome change from the traditional full English.  Thanks for hosting us.
