Appalled at customer service and retention of over £8000 on cancellation of a wedding.  Beware brides/grooms - make sure you get comprehensive insurance,.... just in case. No one ever thinks they will have to cancel a wedding, but when this happened 3 months before the wedding, Oldwalls have retained over £8000 and never return phone calls.  The only monies returned were for the room bookings made by guests and this was only after numerous phone calls.   While they may be a lovely venue, I cannot see that any attempt was made to resell the venue nor that it would have cost them over £8000 to have it empty in July. Disgusted.

Get Comprehensive Insurance for weddings

Came here for a wedding,and was very impressed with the whole experience.Rooms were really nice and were very clean.The ceremony was lovely and the reception was excellent.The meal and Service could not be faulted.Breakfast the following morning catered for all tastes.Cockles and lava bread available as well as the usual Fayre.

Wedding

Went to a wedding and then stayed overnight in a glamping pod. The venue itself is lovely, but the glamping pod had no toilet roll, the water wouldn't drain out of the shower, and there were used tampons in the bin. Not what you expect for £140 a night. 

Disappointing 

What can I stay about this place.
My son and daughter in law wedding was at the oldwalls venue last week.
I must say that this place is stunning I didn't stop smiling until the end it was amazing the staff could not do enough for you the food was outstanding and the breakfast the next morning was amazing.
The only problem was that we had to rush out the next morning as another wedding was arriving. Which we could of stayed here longer.
We stayed the night before the wedding in mulberry house which was outstanding what a place to house all the groom's family.  There wasn't anything they hadn't thought of.
Would highly recommend this place.

Wedding 

Where to start - perfect from start to finish!! 

We had looked at many wedding venues but Oldwalls stood out from the initial meeting. The venue is stunning, picture perfect! The option of getting married inside or out, the huge marquee all stunning. The guest accommodation is lovely, comfortable and clean. The staff were personable and made us feel special (even though they see hundreds of couples every year). 

Special thank you to Nicola our wedding coordinator, in the lead up to our day she was always on hand with no hesitation, knew what we envisioned, helped with organising and answering questions etc. On the day I felt so relaxed seeing her when she arrived at our rustic retreat I knew she had everything under control and reassured me it was going to be the perfect day - it was! 

On the day everything ran so smoothly, the ceremony outside was set up beautifully, the marquee set up was exactly what I had in mind, the drinks were flowing and the food was all delicious! All the guests commented on how well organised the service was and how beautiful the venue looked. In the evening the buffet food was so tasty, DJ was brilliant and able to adapt to the different genres guests were asking for, the fireworks were so special, it really was the best day! 

If you are planning a wedding please pay a visit to Oldwalls you won’t regret it! Thank you all for the best day!

We recently stayed here for a wedding in one of the glamping huts. It was ready earlier than expected which was great, and staff were friendly at check-in. The hut itself was cute and nicely decorated. The glamping area is ideal for wedding guests. The small bathroom in the hut was freezing, but thankfully the main room was warm. We did have a few flies in the room but I suppose this could be due to the area of the venue. I do feel that £140 a night is overpriced, however a wedding venue can charge what they like for the convenience of staying on-site. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice. It was a lovely day and it was nice to see that the venue has had some nice updates over the last few years, with some improvements made to the outdoor areas and the bar area. It's a lovely wedding venue!

Cute glamping hut

Evening reception for a friend’s wedding. Expected to be ripped off for bar prices but pleasantly surprised. Fantastic venue as well with a brilliant DJ and a great buffet. Alpacas and donkeys on way in as well. Running out of things to write now.

Great venue

Stayed here yesterday for my cousin’s wedding. From the time we arrived we were treated with the highest of professionalism. The staff were so lovely and the venue is just beautiful. The room was spotlessly clean with a huge comfy bed. The wedding was brilliant and the food was delicious. An absolute brilliant day. 

A delicious breakfast and again the loveliest staff to serve you. A nice little touch upon check out with a bottle of water and some fudge.

Wedding Stay

Have friends who have been married here and enjoyed, Oldwalls styles itself on being expensive and going that extra mile. This is true, however it was rumoured that during the pandemic they charged people to change dates. That's a little harsh. if true if not just greedy.  

Very nice but on the expensive side

What a beautiful place and setting for a wedding. Grounds are well designed and presented with a few lovely ponds. I thought that the combination of well maintained lawn and planted areas combined with sections of wild grass and flowers to help with the habitat was well thought of.
The venue for weddings is very well managed and the staff were attentive and courteous all the time. Food was absolutely amazing.
If your staying in a glamping pod they are about 100 yards from the reception office and there is also an additional shower cubicle alongside the wedding arrangers office block just before you enter the pod areas. We stayed in no3 and I must say its designed to a high standard.
