Our experience was generally favourable. The staff were friendly and efficient. 
The problem we experienced was entirely of our own making as we didn’t explain our needs when making our reservation. 
I didn’t expect to have a room on the upper floor (301) with such low beams. The receptionist did ask if we were OK with stairs and I said I was but didn’t realise it was over 40 steps to the room. 
The room itself was attractive but the beams were low and presented a potential hazard when using the bathroom in the night. As I said, entirely my fault for not asking the right questions when booking. 

Lesson learned.

Excellent location for visiting Tewkesbury

Cannot speak for a busy time, but on a quiet afternoon the Hop Pole delivered good service, good standard pub food (the grill excellent) and all at simply astonishing prices and value; the ground interior has a bit of a beer hall feeling which does not really do justice to the historical significance of the fascinating building

Sanda was looking after us and I have to admit she is a pure gem, polite, hard working and pleasant. She made out evening really special and we will be coming back definitely, food was tasty drinks fabulous, see you next time !!

Went for breakfast it was served lukewarm and when I made my comment about it I was told basically it's not really our problem we try to get it out as fast as possible wow.... I work in the hotel industry and that is a shocking response. Very nice location but service is very poor I will not eat there again I will have to find somewhere new to eat in Tewkesbury for my Sunday breakfast....

Rubbish service poor customer service

Nice 2 night break, top room on second floor, lovely view, nice spacious room with en-suite bathroom/shower, bed really soft, large wardrobe, fixed shower which was very hard to regulate, bathroom could do with more shelves, phone not working in room. Stairs a bit of a nightmare, book a low floor room if you have any mobility problems! Clean & tidy.
Very good restaurant, food always hot and amazing staff, congratulations for keeping the tables cleared and clean with always a smile and a thank you. 
Considering how busy it was the staff do a amazing job, overall a very good stay and would highly recommend, and free parking too which is always a bonus.

Yes, you heard me. The toilets are on the ground level.

Anyway, it's a massive pub, beautifully done out and the service was great. Had a couple of cheap pints and watched the world go by, just what I needed after a long drive.

It was busy enough with plenty food going out so the locals must like it too.

I don't think I've ever been into a Wetherspoon's before, let alone one of their hotels, so I was very nicely enlightened in Tewkesbury. My room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed, everything on hand, great shower. I never sleep properly the first night in ANY hotel but there is a very peaceful vibe here and I slept like a log. Dinner was about as good as any decent Indian restaurant (curry night) but at 1/3 of the price. I would stay here again. It has so much character in the best possible way, and has sort of got me interested in trying other Wetherspoon's too. 

English comfort, history and charm!

Couldn't fault service and our stay for 1 night here.  Everything was great. Very clean and comfortable bed. Loved the medieval Hall.  excellent location as well  The breakfast was good and excellent value.

lovely overnight stay for Birthday

Very reasonably priced hotel in the main street with parking.  Lovely room which was accessed through the medieval banqueting Hall which was a plus.  It had tea, coffee, biscuits etc which you don't get everywhere. We loved the pictures done by local school children.  They were amazing and also the historic pictures and information on the walls.  The meals and drinks are reasonably priced too. We have been here twice now and will definitely come again.
