Had a bar lunch. Staff certainly friendly and explained seating areas and the menus. Drinks arrived quickly and friendly waitress. Coffee was hot and nice cup.  Food arrived was delicious, big helpings. Grand daughter had kids fish snd chips.  Huge . We all gad different meals and no complaints. Would highly recommend eating here. Well done weigh Inn

Great food. Great stsff

We were staying 2 nights in Thurso & ate at the Weigh Inn on both nights as it was the closest to where we stayed. I have to say the food we had was pretty good. we had something different both nights. The only thing was the Inn itself everything looked a bit jaded could do with a re-furb, not really a nice ambience to eat a meal.

Could look better

Stopped here for dinner.  We wish we hadn’t.  Food was cheap and poor quality. They have some very strange ideas.  We ordered the chicken stir fry and a burger.  What arrived was a pile of violet purple noodles with chicken nuggets on top!!  We sent it back and took the offer of the soup but this was super salty so in the end we paid for the soup and burger and left. The burger was supposed to be gluten free but afterwards I felt a bit ill.  Could be gluten or just the cheap quality. The staff were lovely and clearly trying to make the most of the limitations of the owners penny pinching.  We won’t be back.

Very poor, avoid it.

The service received from the staff last night (06 Oct 23), was exceptional, and the breakfast, although basic, was fantastic value for money. I have driven past this hotel many times, but due catching an early ferry, and the forecasted weather warnings, we decided to stay. I certainly regret not staying here before. Many thanks to all the staff

Really wish I’d stayed here before

Although our cabin was one of the older ones it was clean and our stay was very comfortable.
Friendly staff and excellent food.
Located just out of town on the main road so easy to find and a good coast walk to exercise our dog.

Cabin stay

We stopped here for dinner before taking the ferry to Orkney and we luckily arrived before a busload of wedding guests arrived. Service was a tad slow but friendly. We chose seating in an area with a lot of natural light, which was nice. They allow well-behaved dogs in the restaurant. Food was mediocre at best but you aren't paying dearly for it. I had a mushroom risotto and the rice was still crunchy. Snooker/pool tables by the washrooms. Great location  and reasonable prices for food but nothing to write home about. Plenty of free parking outside. Can't recommend.

Had a lovely night here. Although the rooms are pretty dated they were spotless, towels soft and fluffy, really nice soaps and shower gel and good selection of teas and coffee. Staff were super nice and friendly as were the locals. Would stay again.

We stayed for 1 night in the motel room. Rooms are very old & basic however it was very clean. Everything worked well & shower was piping hot. They are very dog friendly could even take her to breakfast with us. Breakfast was cooked to order & was enjoyable. It certainly isn’t 5star but your not paying 5star prices, enjoy

Excellent  food and  service

So disappointed after an 11 hour journey. Noone on reception   had to search for someone to check in.
Sent a filthy alley  in the corner, basic room with dirty walls. I didn't hang around long enough to notice anything else. Asked for a room change and got a slightly better 1 with twin beds instead of the double.
Very poor decoration quality with half painted bathroom door and peeling lining paper.
Dated bathroom suite. Shower temperature was impossible to control!
Customer service was minimal. 
We didn't feel welcomed at all.  Over 18s on the pool table so we went else where. :(
Breakfast .No staff around, Bowls and cutlery needed a clean prior to use. The tables have been painted badly. The paint is peeling and scratches off. Just makes the place look scruffy.
Pros. The heater in the room worked and the Seaview was lovely. 
This place seriously needs work. It's not a 3* at all!!!
