My friends and I visited Manor Farm as part of a walking weekend of the Ridgeway.We were given a fabulous warm welcome by Sarah and treated to her amazing cooking on Saturday night.
I would thoroughly recommend Manor Farm to anyone visiting the area.

Wonderful B& B

Booked a two might stay to attend a family wedding. The hostess was very relaxed and very welcoming. We arrived early, but no problem. You need a taxi - no problem. Nothing was too much trouble. Enjoyed an absolutely delicious breakfast, again nothing too much trouble. Bed was very comfortable and a huge en suite. Certainly recommend.

Wedding weekend

Arrived late evening, poor outdoor lighting and uneven ground. 
Friendly but very brief welcome. Shown to our rooms immediately.
No information offered re shower/bathroom facilities.
1st room initially looked very plush, however only a rickety chair available to sit in. Bed was perfect and spotlessly clean.
That was all that was clean unfortunately. 

2nd room was initially very poor and shabby. Once again the bed was spotless.
Downhill rapidly from there, ceiling falling down, dirty carpet and dirty bathroom.

A good sleep by all however.

Breakfast! 2/5 but 5/5 for the fruit salad👍

Set in the wonderful Oxfordshire countryside, just off the Ridgeway, this snmashing B&B is in a traditional farmhouse. Plenty of exposed beams and fireplaces. Breakfast is in a lovely dining room with huge dresser and big dining table. Proper full English cooked and served by your host - Sarah. The room was small, if it was French it would be called bijou. The bathroom was sizeable with a free standing deep bath. And nothing was too much trouble for Sarah

Wonderful rural B&B

It's a 400 year  old Manor House on a working farm so obviously not designed as a B&B but everywhere was clean and comfortable. Probably not suitable as a business stopover but otherwise difficult to fault.

Quirky old farm/Manor House

We stayed at Manor Farm eight years ago and were pleased with the experience. The house is a beautiful eighteenth century farm house with classic features, albeit that it is rather run-down and in need of some TLC. The lady we saw then was friendly and efficient, so we were very happy to book again for another trip to the area.
On arrival this time, we were met by a younger woman who directed us to an unsuitable room. We had specifically asked for a room with a king-size bed because our two-year-old likes to sleep between us in our bed. The lady corrected her mistake and showed us into a room with a king-sized bed. My wife then took the our son to have a bath but, on pulling out the plug to empty the bath, was horrified to see the water flooding up through the toilet, and all over the floor. The toilet had a macerator so the water flooding the room was full of faecal matter. My wife quickly replaced the plug to stop further flooding, and I went downstairs to tell the lady what was happening. The water was already flooding through the ceiling into the dining room, and she was putting down towels. She shrieked at me, asking what we had put down the toilet, and I explained that the problem was that the bath water was exiting via the toilet. At this point I hadn’t had a bath or shower and asked if I could use one of the other bathrooms. The woman shrieked again, saying I couldn’t use any of the bathrooms.
A little later she came to our room and said she’d discovered the source of the problem, apologised, and said we could use the bathroom of another room. I went in there, but found the water was cold. I let it run for twenty minutes, but it remained cold and, as it was getting late, I decided to have a cold shower. The next morning, I tried the shower again, and found it was warm, so had no need to report it. We were told that the problem in our own bathroom would be fixed that day, but when we returned at 4.00pm, we were told it had not been fixed and would we continue to use the other bathroom. We then found there was no hot water in that bathroom again. We let the taps run for a long time, but the water remained cold. I then went to find the lady but she was off site, so I saw a man who said he would turn on the water-heating, and that it would take twenty minutes to heat up. We waited an hour, but it was still cold, so I went downstairs to find someone again. This time I saw the woman, and said that we were not happy. Before I had chance to explain the problem, she started shouting at me, not allowing me to finish what I was saying. This continued for several minutes, with her shouting and walking away, and me pursuing her and asking if she would stop shouting and listen to me. Eventually, I told her to shut up and listen, whereupon she told me to leave the house with my family. I refused. She then called another man into the room, and she left. I explained the problem to the man, and said we would forgo our bath and go out to eat, but would he pleased make sure there was got water on our return. He agreed. When we returned later that evening, there was hot water. The next morning, however, the water started off hot, but then went cold again. 
We packed our bags and then went down for breakfast but there was no one around, so we gathered that we were not going to be served breakfast. We therefore left the house without paying the balance that was due. Having paid an £80 deposit and then received appalling service, we feel we should have that deposit returned to us, and we certainly do not intend to pay the second payment of which was due on departure, given the continuing plumbing problems and the abuse meted out to us.
When providing a service to the public, the person in charge needs to know how to handle and respond to complaints. We felt that the woman in question was temperamentally unsuited to the task and has anger management issues. Our two-year old, who was present when the woman was being abusive, summed up the situation perfectly. He said: ‘That lady needs to go on the naughty step.’

Very rude and abusive owner

Stayed here very recently the room was comfortable and very spacious! The bed was massive and ensuite was great! 

Not sure what should be included but I didn’t have a towel or cups to use the coffee facilities, please don’t let this put you off as it’s a little haven in the middle of scenic countryside 

Lovely place

As most of the other reviews show ,you really must book here if you require acomodation in the area.We had a warm welcome on arrival , the owner is very friendly and chatted with all the guests we met, nothing seemed too much trouble .The location is lovely and tranquil with views of the countryside.The house itself is quaint too say the least ,we enjoyed spotting little quirks ,and you got used to the sloping floors and crooked staircase.Our room The Marlborough was better than what we were expecting ,and we had 2 comfortable sleeps .Breakfast was tasty and made to order too.
We would highly recommend staying ,and would book again .

This is such a stunning historical building and we feel really lucky to have stayed here. The bedroom we stayed in was so comfortable and clean, really tastefully decorated and we felt at home instantly. 

The grounds are kept immaculately and the dining room was very elegant. The hosts were so approachable and the dogs they had were adorable!!! The breakfast was really well cooked and presented beautifully. 

It's a lovely base to explore from....we needed a much needed break for the weekend and that is exactly what we got. Thank You to the wonderful hosts xx

Blissful Stay....

The family could not have done more to help us. We were walking the Ridgeway and they kindly gave us a lift from a nearby village when we phoned to ask for a taxi firm number. This has been the family's home since the 1930s  but its history goes back centuries. We stayed at the top of the house. Some care is needed in the bathroom - I put the bath mat next to the shower cubicle as the floor is, unsurprisingly given the age of the building, not flat and one could slip. Also mind the hot water in there, it can be very hot.  

This was the best, most interesting place we stayed on our recent travels on the Ridgeway. The family are so kind, friendly and generous. We were even given a lift back to the Ridgeway. The breakfast was delicious, the best we had on our trip. The sausage, which so often lets down a Full English, was excellent, sourced from a local butcher. Eggs were perfectly cooked and fresh. Very highly recommended!
