Had Christmas lunch there today with a group and the food and service was dreadful , food was only warm and seems it was all frozen veg and roast potatoes . The meals didn't all come together and service was really bad . Such a shame as we went with the same group last year and it was fabulous.

Very disappointed 

We were a table of 12 for Christmas afternoon.  The room was lovely and so was the table decorations and the waitress. We were kept informed that our food would be late and the gifted us a bottle of prosecco. Which was lovely. However the food was not good. The salmon sandwiches had no salmon in them, when we let them know they simply said they had run out of salmon, we were then given more cheese and ham but it was to lste Some of the pots of clotted cream were of! Again we were simply given more and the scones were so stale or over baked they crumbled when we tried to cut into them.
It's a real shame as like I said everything else was lovely..
But we did go for the food

No Salmon

I had booked a meal in the restaurant for us and some friends to catch up. Sadly when seated we were shown to a table in the bar. The bar wasn’t full but very noisy, so not the nicest of atmospheres. The menu was very limited and they’d run out of several dishes also. The food was nice enough though.

Disappointed

stayed here for 2 nights in september for the Santa Pod FIA Finals. We stayed during one of the hottest weekends of the year.
The rooms took some finding as there were a lot of doors and steps to navigate but the part of the hotel we stayed in was nice and quiet. The room was lovely and clean and we even had a fan and bottled water put in our room extra due to the hot weather.
I would definitely stay again but my only gripe was the car park, its tiny and difficult to find with a sat nav and most of the time its full

weekend stay

Absolutely awful.  Place is ridiculously run down whilst trying to sleep  can hear every floorboard and step creak throughout the building and even in moderate wind the windows rattling in their frames for some strange reason bathroom in room was excellent and brand new but rest was terrible little single bed . Staff have given up and breakfast is soul destroying.  Nighttime bar staff rude and disinterested. Oliver Cromwell apparently stayed there .if so I would wager he was more comfortable when he had his head on a spike at Tower of London

Awful experience

DIRTY, SMELLY ROOMS, VERY NOISY, TIRED DATED , LOTS OF DAMP AND FLIES IN  THE ROOM. 
AVOID THIS HOTEL LIKE THE PLAGUE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A LONE FEMALE AS IT IS NOT WELL LIT AND THE CORRIDORS AND CAR PARK ARE VERY DARK.
HAIRS IN BED AND BATHROOM TOTALLY AWFUL STAY.

The hotel is very dated with an old musty smell throughout. The rooms were more modern and had evidently been refurbished recently however, upon arrival in my room there were hairs in the bath which had been left by the previous guest along with marks over the walls and just a general grubby feel. 

The corridors were extremely dark and creepy. With my room being at the back of the hotel, I had to walk through multiple dark, narrow corridors to reach my room, some being pitch black and others with flickering lights. 

The breakfast was okay, a good variety however I have had much better at other hotels. 

Staff were overall friendly and the hotel is in a good location close to shops, bars and restaurants in Wellingborough however; I don’t think I will be returning to the Hind.

PS - the hotel is supposedly haunted however we didn’t encounter any paranormal activity on our stay thankfully!!!!

Poor Hotel

I had a great stay, comfortable bed, modern bathroom, very clean. The building is very old & steeped in history so no elevator but the place has lots of character :)
The staff are lovely & they really made my stay the best, so helpful & friendly!

Absolutely perfect for what I needed!

I booked a Sunday night here for work reasons. Very hard to find tiny car park but managed to park quite near the hotel. One poor staff member having to do everything.
I’m my room at the top of the hotel only 2 of the 4 ceiling lights worked, the plug in the sink was stuck shut, there was a rather unpleasant odour and it was impossible to read.
The public areas were shabby and a lack of suitable restaurants meant I ordered a pizza delivery 
Hotel front door locked at 6 but I let the man in.Ate in back room which was ok.
Bed large but not very comfortable but shower was fine.
Breakfast was ok too but 10 minute wait to be seated as nobody was there
Not returning

Tired and unsatisfactory

Staff were  friendly, bar open all the time. Rooms were spotlessly clean, with plenty of amenities including shower gel shampoo and conditioner.  The building is old, so the corridors are small, and the floors are wonky.   So not suitable for people with walking difficulties, as there is not a lift.   
Buffet style breakfast at the weekend, order what you'd like cooked during the week.  I wouldn't advise using their card park as it is so tight.  There are plenty of free parking places around the hotel.
