The rooms are much smaller and darket than shown on the website.  We had one of the corner rooms and it was very very noisy from about 6 in the morning due to traffic.  Breakfast were poor and room was hugely overpriced.  I don't like giving negative reviews and did submit a review direct to the hotel but haven't heard anything.  We paid full price for the room £250 per night which is ridiculous - sub £100 would have been more like it.  I would call this an OK pub hotel but definitely not an upmarket boutique hotel.

Beautiful part of the world and very pleasant staff but very overpriced and noisy corner

My wife and I are now hoping for a break and after the lockdown looking forward to a decent break ! Oh my god it’s a shame it wasn’t! 
Every detail of service and food was perfect. The bar area was so comfy to have coffee. The garden is small, but stunning. A slighty old fashioned air. My only criticism is that it needs a little background music, as we had to wisper it was so quiet.

We had a wonderful evening. The staff were so kind and helpful, explaining all the dishes and very attentive. The food was out of this world and we had such a special evening we will definitely be going back!! I had the aged steak from a local butcher that tasted phenomenal and the seafood we also had was fresh and delicate, with a beautiful flavour. Cant recommend enough

Superb

We had a great lunch, my friend and I had  cote de boeuf from the ageing fridge in the restaurant which we got to choose ourselves. it was then cooked in the kitchen over fire. The taste is phenomenal and the garlic butter was just perfect with it. I don’t get some of the other comments on here! We come all the time and it’s always amazing. It’s not trying to be Michelin star it’s really good local produce cooked really well over fire. What’s not to like. It’s obviously a difficult time in this industry and pointless nasty reviews when you can see how hard everyone is working makes you wonder why they are leaving them in the first place and the sort of people they are in the first place. 
You guys keep on doing what you are doing at the Fleur. We love it and see why you are one of the busiest places around. Cheers and we will be back very soon!!

Lovely food great service.

We went  to the fleur for my fathers 70th birthday celebration on Sunday and the Sunday roast was amazing,the beef was greet and really tender and we were informed it was from the local butchers in the village called  from salt to smoke which the owner Matt set up in the second  lock down. It was really very good so we bought some steaks to take home from the dry ageing fridge which is in the pub and very cool! My Dad had the whole partridge with all the trimmings  and he absolutely loved it. The service was fantastic and Tony the manager is running a great team and they are all very friendly. We will be back for sure!!

Excellent

I'm surprised a hotel and restaurant in such a quiet countryside village can be so brazen to ask for £22 for a roast beef Sunday lunch. £17 for a half chicken with one carrot? When I saw the prices ahead of our visit I assumed it would be the best roast in the world. Pretty underwhelming. Not forgetting the very overfamiliar waiter, no one in uniform, everything was too much trouble - water for the table, childs menu, ordering, clearing plates. It's not ok to charge London prices for an informal meal. Will be following up with Hall and Woodhouse.

Overpriced and overfamiliar

Booked a luxery room expecting to have a really comfortable stay. £160 plus spending over £90 for 2 of us for dinner. Got into the room and it is a hideous dark childs blue colour same as i had my room when i was 8. 
They have been lazy and not painted behind any radiators which is very obvious and scruffy. The tea and coffee canteen only had 1 sacet of coffee which was decaff so had to find some from a member of staff. 
The "double" bed which i rang up to specfically ask was it a whole double bed was 2 single beds put together which was rediculously uncomfortable. 
The kettle was filthy with limscale inside and out. 
I had to prop the window open with my crutch before i needed it and replaced with the tin bin. 
Blood stains on the bathroom door. 
Toilet was filthy all together. 
Carpets not just dirty from shoes but stained beyond beleif. 
Several cobwebs hanging about. 
Tea and coffee stains on the tea making area. 
The tiniest tv you can buy. 
This was more worth £80 not £160. Our total stay amounting to £268.22. 
Overall the room was way below standard and not enjoyable to stay in and the food was ok.

Booked luxery and it ws anything but...

Lovely place to stay! Great service, amazing food, the staff are lovely. It is a lovely place to go with your family, or with your friends. There is a nice atmosphere, I really can’t wait to come back!

Cranborne

We had a lovely two night stay as part of a longer holiday, staying in the Knowlton room.

The food was excellent throughout - we both had steaks on the first night and these were the best we’d eaten in a very long time (probably since our last trip to Hawksmoor, at more than twice the price). The second night my partner couldn’t resist the Sunday roast beef which came as a huge portion and high quality again, and I had the fish special which was delicious. The food isn’t cheap but we found it to be worth it. Perhaps the condiments in plastic sachets didn’t quite fit with the price or image being portrayed. Breakfasts were also great.

The room wasn’t large but had a spacious, light filled bathroom. The bed was very comfortable.

Why not five stars? The room needs a bit of attention in a few areas - painted a really garish blue that just doesn’t fit with the age of the property, it was a bit tired and the shower was brilliant but leaked through the screen leaving the floor covered in water.

The staff were lovely and friendly, service occasionally a little slow but I’d say that was inexperience.

Overall a very nice stay and I’d come again if in the area.

Lovely stay in this country inn with fantastic food

We had an amazing stay at this well appointed and ‘comfortable’ boutique coaching inn.

We were celebrating a 30 year wedding anniversary so had done our research prior to stay…. The reviews we read were mainly on point…. However we found the service was extremely efficient and friendly 

The choices of steaks and meat for the incredibly super charcoal flame grill was incredible as the inn has its own Himalayan salt and dry aged units in house and nearby it’s really the best steak I have had for a very long time time my wife enjoyed a super lobster.

Our aged boxer coco was also made extremely welcome and had a great doggie treat bag on arrival.
