Just spent 2 nights at the Hollies and have no complaints. Hayley and Paul are great hosts, we arrived early but our room was ready so were able to check in, we where visiting the christmas market which was about a 20 minutes walk along the river from the B&B, had breakfast both morning which was lovely, fruit or cereal to start then lovely full english with tea or coffee, no complaints with room. Definitely recommend and even though we noticed it was up for sale hopefuly it will remain a B&B we will return.

Christmas market

Just come back from two nights here. Booked through booking.com. Hayley the owner was very welcoming and helpful. Our bedroom was clean and tidy, little let down by the en-suite bathroom which needed some TLC around the fixtures and fittings and the shower boarding and trim was in need of a refresh. Sad that the place is up for sale but completely understand her reasons. Breakfast was excellent couldn’t fault it, fresh, hot and plenty of choice. 

Lovely stay

We stayed at the Hollies for 2 nights last weekend and really enjoyed our stay. 

We were welcomed by Hayley and given the keys to both the house and the room.

The location is great on the A64 to the south of the city and it's really easy to find.

A 25 minute walk either by road or along the river will get you to the city centre or there are buses every 15 minutes.

The room was very well equipped and spotlessly clean with a good spacious shower.

Breakfast was well organised where your table corresponds to the name of your room. A full english breakfast will be served unless you choose something else from the breakfast menu in your room and write it in the breakfast book downstairs.

All in all a very pleasant stay so we would recommend and would stay again.

Lovely Stay

We stayed here for a lovely weekend in York. The guest house is easy to find on the main road and excellently located for walking in to the city along the main road or the river. Our room was great - exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. The bed was so comfortable and the bed linen and towels were unbelievably soft - none of the crispy starchy sheets and towels you become accustomed to on weekend breaks! We opted to have breakfast one of the mornings which was freshly made with lots of options (thoroughly recommend the drop pancakes!) Hope to stay again soon

Beautiful guest house stay

Stayed in a lovely room with a comfortable bed with a lovely shower in the morning! The breakfast was the best cooked breakfast I’ve had in a while with a lovely selection of continental available aswell! Ideally situated within a 10minute walk away from the city centre!! 

Great stay!!

The owner is kind, discreet and cooks very well! The location is ideal, a few minutes from the exit of the motorway and a 15-minute walk from the city centre (you can walk along a large tree-lined avenue or the walk to the river). In addition there is a bus stop practically in front of the structure, and in 5 minutes you get to the center. Our room was large, well furnished and clean and so also the bathroom.
