This hotel was terrible. The room smelled heavily of smoke. There was blood on the sheets and cigarette burn marks on the towels. The flooring had a bunch of gaps that you could trip on. The shower drain did not work and there was 2" of water sitting by the end of my shower. Ended up leaving as you felt more dirty after the shower from the smell of smoke. The room was not inhabitable. There were two people smoking a room down in the doorway. There were no shampoo, body wash or hand soap either. For the price this place was terrible and they wouldn't refund me a partial refund for the issues.

This filthy motel has more residents that live than vacation here! However, we were charged more to stay in this fleabag than for a suite at Lake Tahoe. It was so bag we chose to drive home after our Brice’s wedding than stay another night. Stay away!

Filthy ripoff!

I stayed in this motel for two nights in Feb 2022. The reservation was for a Premium Queen Room and was made about a month before the stay.

I found the room to be far from Premium; it did not qualify for an ordinary or usual room. The conclusion is based on the following observations:
A.	The lock of the room door was glitchy. It was hard to lock or unlock the door.
B.	The frame of the room door was coming off. There were a lot of nails exposed.
C.	There were two electric panels with holes on them and exposing the inside.
D.	The switch of the nightstand lamp was broken.
E.	The room was dirty.
F.	The bathroom sink and the toilet were small.
G.	The rug in the bathroom was not clean.
H.	The shower cubicle was dirt
I.	The room was right next to a busy road and very noisy.

Based on the above observations I think that the room was overpriced and unsafe.
1.	Overpriced: A subpar room was sold as “premium”. In no way, the price is fair based on the conditions of the room.
2.	Unsafe: With the exposed nails and the exposed electric outlets, the room was unsafe in multiple ways. 

I reported this to the front office multiple times. However, despite reporting this multiple times, no actions were taken. Even after the stay, the attempts to discuss this topic with the motel management over the telephone have been unsuccessful.

This is FYI.

Overpriced and Unsafe

For someone travelling alone, I carefully looked for something affordable and quaint. El Dorado Motel was able to check those boxes for me. I booked the cubical room. It's about 100 sq. ft., very small. Twin size bed, bathroom, mini fridge and microwave. Overall I was please with my room and location. There were a few things I wish that was included, like a hair dryer, hand soap and a small closet. I improvised and washed my hair early to let it air dry, used my body wash soap to wash my hand, and hung clothes on the chair, door knob and inside the bathroom. It was a lot of fun making this room my home for a night, I would totally do it again, but be more prepared.

Solo trip in the cubical

Nice quiet clean and cozy. Beautiful views and awesome owner made sure we were comfortable and content. Nothing bad about our stay. Would reccomend to everyone, a gem. Not far from Jamestown and only 10 min from the Black Oak casino. Perfect.

Black oak trip

Stayed here spontaneously in between backpacking trips. It was a great find! Comfortable, clean, the room was nice and cool, and the staff was super friendly! I left an important item and they called me within 5 minutes after I left so I could just turn around and go grab it. Nice place!! Twain Harte is beautiful.

Simple, cute, motel. Worth a visit!

Stayed here with my two little boys and the room was very disgusting. I brought it up to the manager and was told I would get a full refund. The owners called me and said sorry but we can give you 20% off your next stay. Really? They don't clean their rooms well. I attached a photo to show. I just stayed there couple nights ago and will not stay there again. How can you miss the rib bone, chopstick, I believe a big piece of fruit, hair tie, piles of hair.

Disgusting

Management was very nice and the rooms were very accommodating. I had a nice quiet stay. Wi-Fi connection was excellent. I was very close to town and to all local restaurants. Location was very convenient. The room was equipped with a very nice coffee pot, small refrigerator and a microwave. Everything you need for staying for more then one day.

Lovely stay

Annoyingly slightly further out of town than I’d anticipated, which meant a bit of a walk to bars & restaurants. But very clean nonetheless & all the things you need from a basic motel. And a pretty part of the state. 

Californian Road Trip: Day 8

We really wanted to like this motel. The check in was easy, it’s a cute old fashion motel. The room was very clean, but needs some maintenance. Nice neighborhood to walk the dogs, and we are so thankful they are pet friendly. We would stay here again.
