Large, clean, and very comfortable room. Clean bathroom with tub and shower combo. Our room had 2 queen beds, a table and 2 chairs for dining, microwave, mini fridge w/freezer, and a coffee maker. Definitely enjoyed our stay.

Clean and comfortable 

I only stayed there one night, which was a Monday, and there wasn't much going on in Floyd. The room was fine; clean, and everything worked. Pleasant surroundings, and it was quiet. My interaction with the staff was minimal.

Nothing wrong with the place

I reserved Suite A September 10-12 for my friend and me. Her single/twin bed was in the living room and she couldn't sleep because there was a constant drip both nights onto the air conditioning unit in the window on the other side of the wall at the head of the bed. I called September 11 and left a voicemail notifying the manager of the problem (he lives in a separate house and didn't answer the phone) and asking him to find a solution so that she could sleep. He did not. I rang the door bell and talked with him this morning and he denied there was a problem and refused to consider refunding part of the $242 I paid. This place is old and even if we hadn't experienced this problem, I wouldn't consider staying there again.

Rundown, Poorly Maintained and Managed

My wife booked a Friday and Saturday night, unfortunately was same weekend a group of bikers were there, started music up at 11 that Friday night, but desk manager finally got them to quiet down.  We informed them we would not be staying another night, as this crowd was there for the weekend.  Simply asked for a refund for the night we did not stay, and their policy of 'No Refunds' was restated to us.  But they did offer a complimentary dip in their hot tub!!  I would steer clear of the Oak 'Non Haven' Lodge.

No Haven and No refunds

Had made reservations for 6/18/21 to attend a concert nearby at Epperly Mill, found out 3 days before arriving on the date that the concert we were to attend was canceled, Called Oak Haven and spoke with Cathy. She explained there was no canceling and no refunds. And I would still be charged. On 6/17/21 Cathy had called and left a voice mail that I had mistakenly been charged twice for King Room # 10 and would be refunded for the 2nd charge. Since I was still being charged decided to take the ride and stay anyway. Was told by Cathy that check in was at 3pm. And key would be left in room and the door would be open because of Covid 19. I arrived at 2 pm on Friday 6/18 decided to check the room and found the cleaning lady in the room and she said it would be about a half hour before she would be finished, I asked her about a local restaurant and told her I was getting something to eat while she finished cleaning. She once again informed me the room would be open and the key inside. I left with my wife went to eat came back to the room and opened the door to find a couple laying on the bed. I said I’m supposed to have this room 10. They were just as surprised as me. Walked to the office and was told by the clerk they had no other rooms and Cathy had told them that I canceled, Which I never did. The clerk offered me another room that was a bit more expensive because it was a room for people with pets. I said no thank you. And after 20 minutes of her telling me there was no refunds. I insisted to talk with the upper management. She told me they were not available. After she made a call I was offered a refund, 6 hours from home with no room. Called my credit card company and still showing the 2 charges. I would avoid this place completely

Refund for cancellation

I have stayed in one of the king suites with the jacuzzi tub twice now with my husband for a little local retreat. We visited Buffalo mountain brewery and McDaniel’s tavern which also was wonderful and right across the street. The rooms are always clean and they have add ons if you want rose petals or chocolate or sparkling cider. 
Highly recommend.

Always a wonderful getaway

I really enjoyed this stay. They have a large deck to sit out on with comfortable furniture. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. They do not have ice but there is a family dollar within walking distance. 

In town but seclusion

Run away  ASAP !!!! And don't  look back !!!! We reserved  a room for Saturday  june 13 th they said our room was number 5  & it would be ready by 2:00  When we arrived   it was around 12:30 or so & we went to look at the room & it was acceptable  the furniture  wasn't  great but it seemed to be clean  all of a sudden a man came hurriedly  in saying  it's  the wrong room & we were getting  a upgrade  to room that  " has a wirl pool "  which is crawling  with germs in the first place !!! Never mind  this Covid 19 crisis !!!!!  Anyway  this room was the most hidious room I have  ever been in !!! I  don't  know who " decorated  " if you can even call it decorative ! ?!?  The toilet was gross with cloudy water & brown stains in the bowl I had to look for toilet  paper & put it on the roll myself  & the bathroom  was so small I felt claustrphobic so I  opened  the door but it kept closing by itself !! There was no place to set like a chair or couch  & the TV only had like 5 capo channels & we could hear someone in the room above  us every time  they took a step !!! & the view  out of our window  was anot electric  trash order & a car repair shop with broken down cars setting around !!!! Not even a place to set our bags but in the floor !!! A wooden  dowe in a corner to hang clothes on !!! & The room itself  was small and depressing  !!!! I was so embarrassed  to even be in this FUGLY  ASS  room  !!!!! And they were gonna charge us with tax $ 109.00  The only positive  thing I can say about this " lodge " is the screen  doors are charming !!!!! We packed  up our car & left immediately  in search of another  motel in Floyd & we saw a man selling  produce at a Circle  K  ExxonMobil  store & my husband  ask him if he knew  where any motels  were & he told my husband  that  The Hotel  Floyd was a bit pricey but it was a decent  local place .  So we went to check it out And I want you all to know that we got a 2 bedroom  2 bath suite with kitchenette on the top floor for less than the crappie room at Oakhaven lodge !!!! I BEG OF YOU PEOPLE  UNLESS  YOUR HOMELESS OR LIVE ON SKIDROW do not stay at this lodge !!!!!!

Disappointed  & embarrassing

We stayed here 2 nights, during the coronavirus pandemic.  The room, including the bathroom, was impeccably clean, the bed was comfortable, the heat worked well, and it was pretty quiet.  I would definitely call the decor rustic.  We liked it fine, but if you prefer sleek and modern, you should make another choice.  We appreciated the small table and chairs, along with the microwave and small refrigerator, since restaurants are still operating only on carry-out basis.  Check-in/check-out was carried out with no contact and that worked fine.  The staff was very attentive to questions before our arrival and responded quickly to email.  The room is very spacious.  My only complaint is that the bathroom sink basin/vanity is really tiny, especially if you are a high-maintenance person with a lot of beauty products or hair care needs, and because it is in the small bathroom, not outside of it, two people can't really get ready at the same time.  We usually stay in Christiansburg when we are visiting Floyd, which costs a whole lot less, but we really appreciated the convenience of being in Floyd.

Comfortable Stay

It’s not fancy but the building is attractively rustic and fits the area well. Rooms are large and clean, albeit dated. Mickey G’s, an Italian restaurant almost across the street is surprisingly good while downtown Floyd is quirky and interesting, a few minutes away. All     in all, a very good budget choice if you  are passing through this scenic area.
