It was a nice and  a basic hotel which I was looking for in Honolulu , because all the hotels I looked at on line was kitchenette, it’s a vacation I’m not doing no cooking, the only problem I had was lukewarm water it literally too 30min to get hot, but it is  walking distance from everything  slap in the middle and also they don’t charge you a resort fee a plus

It takes awhile for the water to heat up

Location is incredibly convenient - short walk to the beach, musubi shop, poke restaurant, McDonald's, bars, and bus stops.

Room decor is average. Rooms have mini fridges and microwaves and are clean. My room had a small outdoor balcony with two chairs and a table. 

No beach view, the hotel is surrounded by taller hotels and condos.

There are no resort fees, and no daily housekeeping (though I think you can ask for it on an exception basis). You can get replacement towels, coffee, garbage bags, toiletries at the front desk. Front lobby also has a variety of beach chairs, beach towels, beach mats, and boogey boards to borrow. 

Front desk is only open 8AM to 8PM so plan to get the aforementioned supplies at the start of the day or when you return from sightseeing. 

Staff was very friendly, helping with restaurant recommendations, bus stop locations, and early morning checkout logistics. 

The one negative for me was street noise. I could hear garbage trucks and a moving company at 4AM. 

Overall, it's a great sightseeing base if you don't need an ocean view. You can spend the savings on food / beverages / tours / shopping.

Convenient and economical but beware of street noise

Just around the corner from Waikiki beach, close to everything, clean and comfortable. And so much cheaper than all the resorts around you.  And no hidden resort fee, thank goodness. I stayed in fancier Waikiki resorts while on the same trip, but enjoyed the ease, location and overall value of this the most.

Easy, value for money, clean - and that location!

It's is situated perfectly in Waikiki no more than 2 blocks from beach, bus stop, tour pick up & trolley.  This place is perfect for people who want to save money & just need place to sleep and keep your stuff while you explore the island.  It's comfortable, simple & staff is amazing. Yes the lobby closes at 8, but if you have an issue you can reach the manager on call & they will take care of you.

Great way to save in Hawaii

Essential room, not big, but with everything you need and at a price well below the average Waikiki. Fantastic location 100 meters from the most crowded beach and in a quiet area, no security issues. Functional hotel to contain the budget without any particular sacrifices in a fantastic but certainly not economical island.

Essential, good value for money

Although the rooms are very dated, the Waikiki Central was a great place to stay!  The staff are very friendly, the bed was comfy and there was a great shower!  The room was roomy as well.  It was a five minute walk to Waikiki Beach.  The area has lots of resaurants and shops and was busy but not crowded so very enjoyable.  I recommend this hotel when visiting the Waikiki area of Honolulu.

Waikiki Central was a Good Place to Stay

Very satisfied. The room was clean, recently renovated, a good size and quiet. There was a TV, fridge and coffee making facilities (albeit Hawaiian coffee is terrible). 

The hotel doesn't have a restaurant or other such facilities. It is mainly just a place to sleep and rest. However it served these limited purposes well and its central location means that there is an abundance of other facilities nearby.

Excellent Budget Hotel

We stayed in two different hotels here in Waikiki and this one for its simple and small size, this one (compared to the other) we liked it a lot more! Clean and fragrant and super nice staff... to me that's a lot. Then it's in a very central position. Nearby there's everything. There's also the stove to heat the dishes. Recommended

That's good.

It's very well located but 4 stars is way too much. 3 stars is enough. Clean reception area but no permanent staff, elevator outside the building. Intercom has the entrance if you have any problems.

Waikiki Central is a good place, but it's too high.

Given this is an older building and in some senses is a "budget" hotel, it was a really comfortable place to stay.  I appreciate the transparency on pricing; it was great value for the location.   The location is stupendous - less than 2 blocks to the public beach park and right in the middle of all things Waikiki.  The rooms were comfortable with all the amenities although it's the smallest shower I've ever seen!  The front desk staff were super nice and had a lot of extras available in the office such as electric kettle, boogie boards, beach towels, etc.   The one minor gripe I have is that in both king rooms that our party of four booked, there was no bedside table and lamp on the left side of the bed, despite there being plenty of room.  They could easily and cheaply add these.

Couple of tips - if you have a smaller car, it will fit in the very small car park more easily.  We unfortunately had a big three-row SUV that required quite a lot of maneuvering.    We might have just skipped the car altogether but needed it for a couple of excursions.  If the room doesn't have what you need, just ask as the staff seemed really accommodating. A breath of fresh air compared to the service seen elsewhere these days.
