The young couple who were behind the reception desk seemed more interested in the computer than in helping us. The girl handed us a sheet of paper and  said to circle the items we wanted for breakfast.  I didn't see anything that was remotely 'breakfast', it seemed more snacky stuff..cold cereal, 'fruit cups', the typical bland fare one sees at chain motels. The only 'warm' thing on the menu was waffles.

We were handed the key to the room and were then dismissed. Not once did the couple mention that the downstairs had tables, a television, games, a microwave, etc.   We only discovered that  two days later, when the owner showed up the morning we were about to leave and mentioned that there was a microwave downstairs.
The room was small, if clean. When we first took possession of the room, I noticed that the bathroom toilet paper roll was almost gone. I had to ask the young man for a roll of toilet paper and a second washcloth. He seemed utterly confused, as if I'd spoken Urdu. But he did eventually give me a roll of toilet paper and a wash cloth. 

The sitting room is crowded  with uncomfortable chairs and couches. The floor needs a good sweeping and the throw rugs badly need vacuuming. There was a pretzel on the floor in front of one of the couches, it stayed there our entire stay.  The lighting for reading is dismal at best, as if they still used 25 watt light bulbs in the lamps.

Some folks mentioned cookies for the guests. Our first night there, there was a plate with two cookies on it. They stayed there the entire time we were there. Who knows how old they were? The next night, when we came back from dinner in Long Beach (there's very little in the way of restaurants in Ilwaco), there was a plate of eenyteeny cupcakes, no bigger than your thumb. I asked if they were for the guests? and got a non-committal shrug.

The sideboard in the sitting room had a electric hot pot and a Keurig coffee maker. The hot pot had about a tablespoon of water in it when we tried to get some hot water for tea. The guest was responsible for refilling, I suppose, because the young couple never so much as touched it.  

Towels etc were not changed, nor was the tiny wastebasket in the bathroom emptied. 
There wasn't a single bit of information as to what amenities the guest could expect. The young couple seemed completely uninterested in doing anything for the guest. 

Overall, I give this Bed...there wasn't a breakfast worthy of the name..a rating as tepid as the service. 



Three stars is being generous

Really enjoyed this inn which was converted from a church. The room was very comfortable; the fireplace was going upon entering the room making it seem all the more cozy. The entire place was decorated for the Christmas season making it extra special. There is evening wine and cookies in the common area which is filled with comfy chairs and sofas.  It's a quiet place and very relaxing. You can select what you want for breakfast the night before which is made when you get to the dining room.
All in all a great place to stay.

Charming experience

We were pleased with this Inn, the hosts were very friendly and attentive.  Our room was a little small but was well appointed.  Bed was very comfortable.  No hallway noise, very quiet. Only suggestion is to make a little more shelf space in the bathroom.  We arrived and our room was ready, check in was efficient.  We unpacked and then sat in front under the umbrella watching the world go by. It is true you can see the water but we were a few blocks away so we could see the water but not make out any boats.  We went out to dinner and when we came back we poured a glass of wine and chatted with another guest couple.  The next morning we went down to breakfast.  I thought it was a nice touch that a family of deer was right outside the door.

Nice quiet and quaint

Most enjoyable 2 night stay. Although on the small side the room and bathroom were more than comfortable.  
The common areas were relaxing. The furnishings were unique and much to our taste. 
The owners could not have been nicer. Loved the afternoon wine and cookies

Great experience

This former Presbyterian church turned B&B is charming and well appointed. The decor is amazing and the building itself is well maintained. The location is great. The owners/hosts are incredibly nice and accommodating. The rooms are stunning and well appointed. Highly recommend.

Fantastic

Kevin & Leanna Moos are absolutely the most wonderful hosts and Inn Keepers. Our stay at the Inn at Harbor Village was a spur-of-the-moment, overnight, getaway. I called to see about rates on booking.com vs direct rates and they were the exact same except we were able to talk to Leanna about the rooms and choose which would be best for us (so I definitely recommend people contact them directly instead of thinking you need to go through a booking service). From the moment we walked in they were welcoming, warm, informative, and exceptionally delightful. The breakfast they make you in the morning is based on your own personal preferences and they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The Inn itself is BEAUTIFULLY kept and incredibly comfortable. It's like being at home, but with the advantage of being away from home. The rooms are all unique and so charming, plus, because it's tucked away and the space is intended for adults only (no kids under 13 can stay there), it's quiet and peaceful. We loved it so much, after just a brief 24 hours there, that we already decided we'll be coming back and staying longer next time. For anyone who wants a beautiful place to stay that is quiet and has every comfort at an affordable price, I wholeheartedly recommend the Inn at Harbor Village!

Delightful Experience

The owners take special care of their property and their customers. They have really worked hard to turn a stay into an experience. Everything was clean, creative and well cared for. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a very coastal charm to it. During our stay it was very relaxing and quite. The owners are very fun to talk to and very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast each morning was great. We will definitely make this a destination when we are in this area.

A Special Experience

What a beautiful, well-maintained, cozy place! I stayed in Room 6, spent time  snuggled into the dormer window seat with a book, a cup of coffee and a fresh-baked cookie, enjoyed a great night's sleep with fresh air blowing in through the open window, and awoke to freshly prepared coffee and waffles. The innkeepers are kind, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. I can't say enough good things and I will definitely be back!

Deserves more than 5 stars!

Room was nice and was clean.  Quiet B&B.  HOWEVER, do not expect maid service to come and make bed for clean up room.  You are on your own until you leave.  You can ask for clean towels, no problem, but everything is on you..  They have some wine and snacks in the afternoon and from 8:30 a.m to 10:00 a.m. they will provide you some breakfast.  HOWEVER if you are going fishing they will do nothing to accommodate you.  No effort to just give you a sack breakfast to take on a boat, yet they give you a hardboiled egg, packaged cheese, packaged yogurt, packaged fruit, but they could not be bothered to put this in a sack for people leaving for a fishing boat at 5:00 a.m.   Nice people but ?????  If not fishing it would have been better but many people come to fish.

Decided to stay at a well reviewed place however.....

My husband and I really enjoyed our 3-night stay at Inn at Harbour View. It's a B&B so the friendly owners were very available and would check up on us any time they saw us to make sure we had everything we needed. Tea/coffee, wine, and cookies were available in the front parlor area throughout the day and it was a relaxing space to enjoy a quiet activity.

Speaking of quiet, the whole building was pretty quiet at all times - a relief for us as we were seeking a relaxing getaway but would maybe not be as great for people who prefer loud gatherings. We loved the variety of little sitting nooks around the beautiful renovated chapel. There's a large space downstairs (the dining room) that may be more conducive to group gatherings but was empty for most of our stay.

Breakfast was great! Several choices for food (definitely recommend the waffle) and served promptly upon arriving in the dining room each morning. The owners sit and chat with guests during this time which as a fun way to learn more about them and more about the area. Helped us decide what to do during our visit!

The room itself was clean, cozy, and felt like staying at a trusted friend's home. We paid for the room with the Harbour View and I would not recommend this - you can barely see the water in the and it faces the parking lot/front of the building which makes it very bright at night. Next time we'll choose a room with a garden view and maybe spring for the king. The bed was nothing to write home about, my husband slept fine but I struggled at times with pressure from the mattress. I'm picky about beds though so I imagine it's fine for most people. 

Even though the room itself had a couple issues for me personally, the above-and-beyond service will bring me back here. A couple highlights:

- During check-in one of the owners drew out a map of the best restaurant options in the area and took the time to explain the food offered at each to us. 
- One day of our our visit it rained heavily all day (normal for the area). Thoughtfully, there were umbrellas available for use so we could stay dry and not be stuck inside all day. 
- In the second day of our stay, my husband and I were sitting in the parlor when we were approached by the owner's son. He had seen us playing video games the day before and offered to let us try out his VR setup! I'm sure this isn't a standard experience during a stay but we loved every minute of it. 
- During breakfast on the day we were leaving my husband asked if they had some superglue to fix the hinge on his glasses until he could get to an eye doctor. As it turns out, one of the owners used to be an optician!! She took his glasses, promising to add some shrink tubing to secure the hinge, and instead returned having replaced the ENTIRE ARM with a spare one she somehow had?? We were amazed by the hospitality. 

There's no question, I will be returning to Inn at Harbour Village. It's just a matter of how soon!
