This is a very old property however the owners have modernized it and kept it up-to-date
They are most accommodating that is Lisa and Ken
Prepare fresh breakfast for their guests complementary
And accommodate the gas in any way to make them comfortable and feel at home

Great place to spend a few nights at magic mountain

We hosted our church's fall retreat at the Blue Gentian Lodge and it was such a wonderful stay. It was a joy to share our meals together in the dining room, gather and rest in the living room, and have so many opportunities to explore/hike Magic Mountain. The room was warm, cozy, and inviting. The meals were delicious and satisfying. The staff were incredible hosts! Overall, we had a wonderful stay and I cannot wait to be back next fall!

Such a cozy get-away!

walking distance to the Magic Mountain base lodge, closer than some of the parking lots. nice lounge with fireplace, homemade breakfast included. comfy cozy rooms. hosts are very friendly.  can't beat the rates.

unbelievable location

We spent two nights at Blue Gentian Lodge in February 2020.  The Inn is located walking distance to the base of Magic Mountain and it is a perfect location for skiing.

 Our Room (#5) was on the 1st floor and was perfect for our needs. The room was immaculate and the bed was very, very comfortable. We like the memory foam pillows they provided. The bathroom was fully stocked and the towels were super soft. The pocket doors separating the entry way from the bedroom were a neat touch to separate all our gear from the bedroom.  Racks are located outside the door to hang skis.  Breakfast was provided each day and was very good. Waffles on one day, Eggs on another.  Hot cereal and other breakfast items were provided. We left full for our day on the slopes. We loved the history about his place and it was fascinating to hear some stories.  We went to the mountain at night to have dinner at the lodge. The inn has a lovely outdoor hot tub located in a gazebo. Hot tub towels provided. All in all we had a great stay... Oh and it dumped snow while we were there and the skiing at Magic was amazing!!!

We stayed 2 nights at the Blue Gentian Lodge this February. We had a wonderful stay while on a ski trip to Magic Mountain. The hot tub was amazing after a day of skiing. Rooms were cozy and comfortable and we enjoyed a great hot breakfast every morning. Thanks for a wonderful weekend in VT! 

Cozy and comfortable stay at the base of Magic Mountain!

Checked in to a handicap accessible room, not what I reserved. I asked to move rooms and was told they’re all the same. I don’t want a grab bar around my toilet or in the roll in shower. She did move us. The next room was spotless and suited our needs. The hot tub was clean and refreshing with the cooler outside temperatures. The outside needs cleaning up and the exterior is looking worn. The pictures I saw online didn’t seem new. The common area had a fireplace, tv, and tables. The fireplace wasn’t on at all. There was instant coffee and tea available, but don’t expect anyone to tell you. There’s a rule book in your room. Coffee is 730 before the 8-9 breakfast hour. We showed up at 725 and the lights were off and the owner seemed bothered and rolled her eyes as she walked off. You need to reserve the hot tub because they don’t run it unless you ask and it needs time to heat up. The nice part was we enjoyed it alone because of reserving it. The breakfast was a quiche it was good, but that was it. No baked goods no fresh fruit, it was canned, no meat served. The coffee was awful. We decided to skip second day’s breakfast and headed out. The whole stay the owners never asked how the stay was. The feeling I felt was a cool unwelcome, which can be an old Vermont theme in some establishments from the old timers born and raised here. I really don’t understand all the great raving reviews. 

Didn’t live up to expectations 

A wonderful quaint and quirky place to stay in the beautiful mountains of Vermont.  Easy to find, park outside your room and enjoy the very friendly welcome by the owners, Lisa and Ken.  Don't expect this to be a standard lodge, it's like walking into someone's home where you can just flop down and relax either in your room or in the guest lounge.  A lovely, plentiful breakfast greeted us in the morning along with superb mountain views.  Just book your stay without hesitation and enjoy the atmosphere.

You won't be disappointed at all

This place is like if your grandma had a cabin and invited you to visit! The woman who works here is absolutely amazing. She makes every effort to create a comfortable situation for her guests and is incredibly nice. The customer service is top notch and the location is beautiful. The garden is gorgeous and the rooms are quaint and cozy. I slept with the window open and it smelled fresh and was quiet all night. The breakfast tastes delicious and tastes homemade as well! It is also located close to a few restaurants, one of which serves great burgers.

I do have a recommendation though: print out or screenshot your GPS instructions because my GPS would not get service and I am not familiar with the area.

It's like visiting your grandma in a cabin!

We booked this motel at the last minute for some spring skiing at Mt. Snow and Magic Mtn. We chose it because of its great location, and the affordable price. What a pleasant surprise!!! We had room with a king bed, which was like a B&B room. Out the back door of the room was a patio with an amazing view of the ski area. Very clean, nice touches with hand soap, and orange-scented bath gel. We enjoyed the outside hot tub after a long day of skiing. The hosts gave us towels to use and walked us out back to open the hot tub, even offered us plastic cups if wanted to drink any wine while soaking. Breakfast was hot, home made heart-shaped waffles, hot and cold cereals, and more. We could have walked over to the ski area, but pulled the car up the road with our gear. We wish we stayed more than one night and definitely plan to return. There is a near-by grocery store, some wonderful restaurants, and within a relatively short drive,, a bunch of ski areas, shopping, and other adorable towns. We will be returning next season for sure.

Lovely Stay

This lodge is more like a B&B than a motel. The rooms are small and cozy, and exceptionally clean. If you are expecting a motel with motel amenities, such as in-room phones and mini-fridges, you will be disappointed. This is more like staying at a friend's home. The lodge has a lovely gathering room, with several couches, a fireplace and a TV. The rooms each have a backdoor access to the pool and hot tub area. The lovely hosts serve a delicious full breakfast, and are very warm and welcoming. I highly recommend this for any get-away you may be planning to the Manchester/Londonderry area.
