We stayed here for a month over Dec-Jan in a 1 bedroom apartment with our almost 2 year old daughter.

Pros:

Location

Provided a cot for our child

Cons:
Noisy - our room looked onto a car park and There was construction across the road that went all day (they did offer to switch but we had moved in with ALL our stuff and couldn’t guarantee the new place would be better)
Not a lot of room with all the furniture we had to rearrange to get the cot in a suitable location for a month
No kettle?? We just used a pot to boil water but still a kettle would have been nice
Bathroom was attached to the master - this may not be a big issue for most people but we put our toddler to sleep in the bedroom so we could use the living room at night (we had to sleep in the living room cause our toddler wakes up to everything) it would have been nice to have a separate bathroom before 10 we would go use the bathroom in the clubhouse but after that we had to risk waking the child! 

Overall the place met our needs a one bedroom was tricky with a toddler but we made the best of it and enjoyed the location (across the road from the mall and the village) we spent a lot of time over there eating and shopping and the village is awesome for kids (their parents restroom was AMAZING) lots of fun things like fountains, goldfish pond and room to run and explore. If you were a couple just looking for a base in the area or going for business then it would be suitable as long as you are ok with the dated apartment! If you have a really easy kid it would be fine too, ours just isn’t the kid to share a room with so logistics were tricky. 
I have added some pics of the apartment and facilities and the free trolley at the village across the road. They are just family short though not really easy to see  everything!

I booked a room back in march but couldn't make it because of travel issues. They charged my arrival a week before I was going to be there, and I had to cancel the day of arrival. I understand hotels have cancellation policies, and they said they would only charge 1 night stay. Still as of today I haven't received any refund, and everytime I try to call I get some other office that isn't the hotel.

This is the most frustrating experience ever for a friggin' refund, that i'm worried about having to go through this again if I ever booked. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere even you want some peace of mind about the financial aspects of your travel.

Will not refund even though they said they will

It's a 20-minute drive from Hollywood Avenue. It's not a hotel, its apartments are in a nice condo. The apartments are comfortable with a generous dimension. Complete kitchen, spacious living room, and a bedroom. I was in building J and needed at least painting, changing carpets, and a bit of care in general. The apartment was in good condition. It had wifi. If you're without a car you can walk to the entrance about 10 or 15 minutes. Don't leave Uber to pick you up. Yes, when you return. There aren't many buses that take you everywhere. If you're in a car, you have a coach. In the middle of the condo you have a pantry. Los Angeles is to go once alone and no more than two days. Well, California isn't in Los Angeles.

A quiet place.

My family vacation was in Los Angeles.  We stayed at the Oakwood Apartments instead of a regular Hotel.   It turned out to be great.  The Hotel had activities during the week, a movie theater and also provided grills near the pool which I thought was a bonus.  The staff was very friendly and amenable. The hotel was a short 8-10  minute drive to Universal Studio, City Walk and other major attractions. 

 I would stay here again!

Stayed there for 4 nights. The settings are good. Not far from hollywood. Apartment was clean and with everything we needed. Just one problem is that its really big. Like a maze. ANd we checked in at night so we could barely see tje letters in the buildings. Should gave directions to each building. Other than that it is a nice place to stay while in LA. The pool is really nice.

Nice place

The Hotel is actually an apartment complex (with entry control and security). However, some units are rented to holidaymakers. There is also a free parking space. There is also a small supermarket in the complex and each apartment block has a laundry. We originally booked a studio, but got a suite - a large living room with open kitchen, two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The apartment was clean and everything was available, several towels, bedding, dishwashers, washing machine, detergent, etc. Unfortunately, the furniture was a little tamed and it was a little old leoden. The carpet is also available to the studios.

It's great accommodation.

The hotel is conveniently located close to the beach and a number of restaurants where you can enjoy a good meal. The downside is the long and uncomfortable registration procedure at the entrance.

Take it! A friendly and helpful gatekeeper received us. We got a map to the reception and were received friendly and efficiently. 
The studio was perfect! Clean and well equipped. A real pleasure to stay at Oakland. Worth every penny! 

A lighthouse!

Excellent, quiet, cozy, spacious, outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, indoor market, walking distance from Venice beach, friendly staff, all-convenient apartments, Wi-Fi throughout the facility, gym.
