I love this town and this lodge.  It is a tiny, quiet town under the vermillion cliffs.  Walking distance to Navaho bridge which is amazing.  Saw California condors there. So much beautiful history.  Lee's Ferry is about a five minute drive.  So convenient to have  a restaurant on sight also.  They were in the middle of a remodel but it didn't really affect us.  We stayed in a nice remodeled room.  One disappointment was no microwave or mini fridge.  Most rural areas have those things in the room.  Page is about 45 minutes away.  We did the upper antelope canyon tour, saw horseshoe bend, too a boat ride on Lake Powell our of Wawheap marina.  We had a lot of fun!

We got at room in the new building. It was very nicely decorated. Simple and nice. The floor was very nice (no ugly dirty carpets). The shower and the bathroom was very nice. The furniture was more modern than most motels. 

A few things were not completely done, though - probably because they had not finished the room yet. There was no refrigerator, no coffeemaker and the hooks for towels in the bathroom were not really fastened yet (hanging loose out of the wall).

Nice view. So they could easily get another star when they are done with the rooms.

The restaurant was more a cafeteria and could need some improvement on the service and food.

Nice new buildings

Basic small town restaurant frequented by Navajos. Pleasant, efficient wait staff!  Menu has more variety than expected.  Sandwiches looked first rate. My first navajo fry bread and I loved it!!  Husband’s fish and chicken basket was “all good”.

This is a great location for those passing through.  I have stayed in 2000 and again in 2022 for a pre-Grand Canyon raft trip.  Also good area for hiking and trout fishing.
The hotel is rustic 70's however clean with good AC and hot showers !
They have a well stocked store and good diner serving breakfast to dinner

Closest motel to Lee's Ferry to start a CO River trip but if you can stay elsewhere--do it. I had bed bugs in my bed and my scalp itched for days. Rooms are in sore need of an upgrade and bathroom was sketchy. Also A/C was off in rooms until you arrive. Not great when over 100 degrees.

The check in process is painful as they don't use computers so lots of paper flipping to find your reservation.

The only good thing was they have a great gift shop!

Stay elsewhere if possible

You cannot beat the location. Be sure to stop by the Navajo bridge and look for California condors perched under the bridge for hunting below. Seeing the condors is truly a once in a lifetime experience.  Cleanliness and comfort were middle of the road. Come for the scenery and to support Navajo businesses.

If you are travelling north up route 89, the last place for affordable gas is Gap. Once you pass Gap, expect to pay a dollar more that the pump.

Great Location for Unfussy Travellers

Great Place to stay, close to Lees Ferry and the Grand Canyon.  The room was very comfortable and clean.  The staff was very efficient, professional and personable!! it was close to gas, laundry service and the restaurant has Great food and a stsff with a sense of humor!!

GREAT Stay

We always look for the local experience when traveling especially in the Southwest. Wooden structure, not new but fits in the area. Very quaint, still has "keys" for the rooms. Wifi in the lobby only. Restaurant and gift shop attached.

A great experience

We stayed here for our North Rim Grand Canyon visit for two nights. Tv reception was horrible , no Wi-Fi , very controlling on the ice you were only allowed two tiny bags.
Bathtub did not drain and no drain plug. Carpet was dirty and beds very uncomfortable. The day we were checking out we walked outside to see that both tires were flat on our suv. Someone deliberately let the air out of our tires in hopes that we would call for help. Totally not cool at all. My husband is always prepared so he had a air compressor so that we could air both tires back up . In my opinion this is no way to treat guests .

Outdated

Stayed here the night before leaving on a 6 day rafting trip and the room prices are very reasonable and the rooms are clean.  They are basic older accommodations but honestly, it was all we needed to get a good night's sleep and redo our packing before the trip. The people there were nice and helpful, the check in process uses dial up modems so there is no wifi.  Huge gift shop with lots of items for sale at very reasonable prices including rafting gear so that was really nice. Also has Navajo rugs, jewelry, and food items for sale.  Free coffee in the AM.  Free bags of ice for those staying at hotel.  I'd stay again if visiting this area as it was comfortable and quiet.  Book early as they fill up in summer especially with rafting groups.  Boulder airport is across the street.
