Very nice place to stay! Our room was very updated, very clean and the bed very comfortable. The tv was very large and new. And bonus: their coffee at breakfast is very good too! You will be very pleased if you stay here!

VERY nice place to stay!

We pulled into Marshall, TX late at night after a long, exhausting, rainy drive, hoping to grab a room at a hotel chain where we are 'members for points.' Our jaws hit the floor when we were told they were full  - on a random Thursday night in May - and we learned there was a horse show as well as a big graduation in town and many hotels were booked up. OH NO!  We went straight to this Quality Inn, thinking the less expensive/less upscale brand might be the last one to get full.  We were greeted by a friendly front-desk clerk and were told they were ALMOST full but there was a room for us! YAY!

I am here to tell you the room was pristine! It was VERY clean and nice - soft towels, comfortable bed/sheets/pillows, coffee machine, big tv. And literally the BEST HOTEL SHOWER I have ever had - and I have done quite a bit of traveling! STRONG water pressure, hot water - really excellent!

And then when we checked out the next morning, there was a simple breakfast available and a fridge full of water bottles for the taking.

The experience exceeded expectations. Very nice!

Nicer than expected, by a long shot

We canceled second night due to feeling unsafe with construction workers drinking, smoking and carrying on loudly on balcony outside room. Was told by manager that they have been living at hotel for 4 months and will be there again that night. Told no rooms available on other side of hotel and he would cancel room

We stayed at this hotel on our way to visit friends in Texas.  We found it to be clean and the beds very comfy.  The breakfast was decent.  It is easy on and easy off from Highway 59.  The staff was friendly and helpful.  We realized when we got to our next destination, that I had left an article in our room.  The man at the front desk was extremely helpful in shipping it to me. Would definitely stay here again.

Good stay

Always greeted by reception  people when you enter the lobby. Rooms are always clean and well stocked bathroom. Breakfast area well stocked and the people are always friendly and helpful. Handicapped room has a walk in shower.

Nice

Pros - clean public areas, brightly lit at night, personable staff, bland breakfast but good and filling.  I arrived late night/early morning.  Had reservation, just needed a place to sleep for a down and back business trip.  Called and told staff I would be a very late arrival, they passed the word to the night shift.  Night shift made it a point to tell me that my pickup and open trailer would be safe, that they had cameras with sensors in the parking lot.   

Cons - Urine or similar smell in room, bathroom door sitcks in jamb.  I don't know if I could have traded the room.  It was very late and I was too tired to go through the trouble.  When I told staff the next day they were attentive and appropriately and sincerely concerned.  

Bottom Line - I usually go with Comfor Inn, so I'm not too familiar with Quality.  I got what I paid for, $50-$75 room, a pillow and reasonably clean room, and a quick and simple breakfast.  Next time I'll bump up to a "better" Choice hotel.

Get what you pay for.

Rusty fire sprinklers, a dirty bathroom, an old and loud air conditioning unit, hard to adjust shower, foil-wrapped burner plates on a stove in a poorly furnished kitchenette empty of utensils and dishes. We booked a first floor room, got one up some dirty stairs. No door sign available to let housekeeping know to come later.

Poor Quality at Quality Inn in Marshall

I have stayed in Marshall, so many times and never found a hotel I really liked. 
     This quality inn is perfect. The owner and staff are so considerate. I was allowed an early check-in with no fuss. 
  The pool hadn't opened for the season yet, as weather was still cool. They unlocked the gate and let me sit there and read my book anyway.
   My room was gorgeous, I used points for a suite. The room was huge, immaculate, and nicely appointed. There was a whirlpool bath, that was spotless. You can tell they clean them well after use. Bed was big and comfortable with great linen's and pillows. Great internet and TV. Lots of choices for breakfast too.
I am in Marshall often, I will be back.

Great hotel, great staff

I have stayed here before and had good service and a decent room.  In fact, this used to be my hotel of choice (based on cost) when I traveled.  That has now changed!  My curtains were open when I arrived and the sun was shining in my room so I didn't notice the heater in the room didn't work until 1:00 a.m. when I woke up freezing.  If I called the front desk I knew my options would be packing up everything and moving to another room or dealing with maintenance in the middle of the night.  Since I had a long way to drive the next day I didn't want to have to be awake for any length of time to do either of those things.  I just put on more clothes and got back under the blankets.  When I woke up the next morning my temperature app said it was 48 degrees in my room.
I told the very young person at the front desk about the heater when I checked out around 9 a.m.  She said there was no manager on the property and she couldn't do anything about it.  She did say she would make a note and have the manager call me when he got in.  I told her I would definitely be expecting a call.  Unfortunately, I never received a call of any kind so there was no apology, reimbursement or compensation of any kind.  I have used Choice Hotels for years, but this is one that has lost my business!  It's not worth the money you might save to stay here.  The customer service is non-existent.

From good to bad

My wife were satisfied with our stay. The room was neat and tidy. The walls were not soundproof because we could hear the people next door. The breakfast was average. The biscuits were evidently leftover from a previous day because they were hard.
