Oljato–Monument Valley

We stayed at the View Hotel for one night. We arrived in the dark and enjoyed dinner at the restaurant onsite. Good menu which catered for small and large eaters. We had no idea what was awaiting us in the morning. The view from our bedroom window was magnificent with a full landscape of the valley bathed in sunrise. Breakfast was included. We had a ground floor room. The view is no different from ground floor to second or third floor. We did the 6km Wildcat walk and drove the Monument Valley loop which starts near the hotel. We headed off early afternoon. Would highly recommend a visit for one night to see this interesting and stark landscape.

Incredible views, comfortable beds, great staff. Dinner was very good. The breakfast selections will give you some sustenance for the day, I will bring a few healthy snacks when we return. 
The view from our balcony was outstanding. 
The sun rising is so magnificent! We enjoyed our stay. This land is sacred, and we felt it. 


Spectacular views

It's the views!!!  Mother Nature's incredible creations are the reason to visit Monument Valley. We stayed in one of the valley front cabins. It was small, cramped and rustic but the deck was front and center to the amazing views of the mesas, buttes and the valley below. Stay for the vistas, the sunrise and sunset. Take a tour or two with Navajo guides to really learn the history, significance and ceremonial importance of this place. The food in the restaurant is marginal but you don't go here for the cuisine.


Awesome!

This is our third and LAST time to stay at the View hotel. GREAT VIEW of the mittens, that’s the only good thing. You can’t check into your room till 4pm. The price of rooms has consistently increased to well beyond what they are worth. Additionally they gouge you whenever they can. A resort fee is now added. Of course they give you a $20 credit for the gift shop but everything there is 3 to 10 times the price it should be. The restaurant is always a pleasure as there is no place else to eat. We waited half an hour for a table even though there were unused sections of the restaurant with empty tables. A bowl of the local “stew” was $25. In reality it was a small bowl of soup. Mostly liquid. In a four or five star restaurant this would be $10 or $12. Service as usual was non-existent.
Stay some place else. Drive in, pay the park fee and enjoy the majesty of the rocks. Take the scenic tour with a sturdy car or truck. You’ll enjoy that part. The View Hotel no so much.

Wonderful view but everything is overpriced and nothing special.

I stayed here once before for 1 night in a hotel room, this time 3 nights in one of the Premium Cabins. The cabins are nice but be warned they are tiny and the only place I could find to open my suitcase was in the closet-sized room with the 2 bunk beds. It was also rather dusty in the cabin but this is the desert after all. There is a K-cup machine, mini fridge and microwave. The fridge was not turned on but I turned it on and it worked well though very noisy. Housekeeping didn't come every day and they didn't really seem to do anything other than empty the garbage. Not getting housekeeping also meant the K cups were not restocked, but I had brought some of my own so that helped. The porch is a lovely space that probably functions as a second room in good weather but it was too cold to really spend much time on the porch while I was there. You are here for the views and this place delivers on that for sure. To see sunrise I recommend starting to look outside about 20 minutes prior to the official sunrise time, from 20 to 10 minutes prior is when the sky looked the prettiest. What you don't see in the photos is the dozens of people milling about outside the cabins at sunrise, sometimes with their yelling children, so don't worry you will be awake for the sunrise. The staff in the office for the Cabins is outstanding, they accommodated a couple of special requests.

Premium Cabin

A magical place! What an experience to see the sunrise over the Monument Valley from the room! Rooms quite simple. The hotel impresses by its unique location. Good breakfast. Dinner can also be taken at the restaurant (next village with restaurants a little further away).

Unique location

The location of the hotel is fantastic and the view from the balcony is breathtaking. Otherwise, the hotel is not in good condition: the whole hotel and the room smells of me. The rooms are dark and give a somewhat unusual impression. The rooms are clean, but the culinary offer is unacceptably bad. It's a shame that this wonderful place doesn't offer a better service. You could make it a paradise.

The situation is dreamy - otherwise disappointing

As the name suggests, you stay here because of the view. If it's worth it, everyone has to decide for themselves, since you don't come here again, however, we'll find it. The rooms are of a pleasant size and are clean. In the rooms everything is available! The restaurant leaves more than to be desired in the service and the free breakfast is very spartan!

The View

If you're lucky enough to go to Monument Valley, you'll have to spend the night there because the view is so crazy. Fabulous. Sleeping and sunrise breathtaking. Nice walking or car excursion.

A must-have but should do better

We stayed one night in this hotel. It was indeed a beautiful view of our room. However we have a soft bed and a badly sounded room (noise from the next room). Breakfast is fine. We were delighted to make a hike of more than two hours in 4x4 it was fabulous and breathtaking views all over the site. Inside this hotel, very nice souvenir shops but a bit expensive....
