extremely rude staff on insane power trip. my friends and i were visiting some people in Syracuse(we live three hours away) and on route home a huge snow storm hit. we only made it as far as rome before we realized we should probably find a place to stay and wait out the storm. first we go to a motel where we’re politely told we need to be 21(we are all 18)to check in. no worries we somewhat expected it but wanted a warm place to collect ourselves before heading back out. i call another hotel in the area before calling “Relax Inn” in where i ask them if i needed to be 21 in order to book a room. they tell me that we don’t need a 21 year old to book it and that it would be 119$ for one room. we are all very relived to have a place to sleep for a few hours. we make it to the relax inn only for the door to be completely locked. i call the number while standing outside and re explain our previous conversation. the staff member then says “my credit machine is out only cash”. this was new news and i didn’t know if we had enough cash between us. i ask if we could possibly come in the lobby out of the BLIZZARD to count the money they need and speak to them and they hung up. i call them back and am met with a different staff member saying “DO YOU HAVE CASH?” i asked “well how much is it “ but i’m cut off by him saying “YES OR NO DO YOU HAVE CASH”. i answered him by asking why he’s being so hostile, we just wanted to sleep for a bit and get out of the storm. he AGAIN yells and says it is not his problem and that he was going to call the police! i’ve read so many other reviews of staff members doing this and i hope the staff knows that they are RUDE. and i will NEVER EVER PROMOTE YOUR BUSINESS TO ANYONE AND YOU AFE SO VERY MEAN TO PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BE YOUR PAYIGN CUSTOMER

If there were less than one mark, I would leave that. If you want more marks look at their sheets. The hair, the blood stains from bed bugs.  Look for the bedbugs. They’re there. We didn’t stay long enough to find out how many other things were wrong. It’s disgusting and then they had the nerve to not refund us anything even though we didn’t stay (literally there long enough to see the filth. Even the 7 year old in our party was crying because it was so awful (and there were a lot of us who booked rooms . Do not recommend them at all.  They are individually owned and didn’t think it mattered what people have to say, but I assure you it is not a place you want to stay.

I am extremely impressed with the complete makeover that has taken place with the rooms here. The very reasonable rates are topped off with clean up to date interior decorating. They have smoking and non smoking.  Absolutely love it. Amazing owners.

We were looking for a place to stay for one night and chose the Relax Inn, unfortunately. first they wanted to give us a more expensive room than what we had reserved, because they didn't find the reservation, then a room, where there was already someone else, then a room that was cold. The friendliness of the personnel was missing, as were the amenities of the rather rundown motel. The price of 70$ plus tax was way too high, we should not have accepted the room.

The location works for me when i'm in the area. the rooms are clean and comfortable for the price.the staff are always nice and helpful, and they are making improvements on the rooms.bathrooms are clean and sink and amenities all worked properly.

i like the relax inn

My friends and I needed a place to stay after biking the Erie Canal.  We called ahead, said there were four of us.  They told us it would cost $60 for the night.  When we got there, they changed the price to $78. When we questioned them about the price, they said we told them there would only be two people; however, we did actually tell them there would be four people.   When we got to the room, it smelled terrible.  I don't even know how to describe the smell.  We went back to the front desk and asked for a different room.  The second room was better, but still terrible.  There were dirty socks that someone had left behind on the floor, stained bed sheets, and nails sticking out from the wall.  When one of my friends got a shower, the whole shower rod fell on his head.  In the morning, we went downstairs for the continental breakfast.  The person at the front desk said they decided not to put it out because there were not many people staying there.  Meanwhile, they advertised a free continental breakfast included in the price.  The next morning, we called the front desk and asked for the manager to come see how bad the room was because we wanted a full or partial refund.  The manager never came to the room after a few calls to the desk.  My friend went to the desk, got into an argument with the manager, and the manager called the police.  If we were not in the middle of a bike trip and on a time schedule, we would have stuck around and told the police exactly what the problem was, and had them take a look at the room.  This place needs to be shut down.

Owners are very nice and friendly but the conditions of the motel is horrible. They are trying to get it in better condition but it will years before that happens. They need a lot of money to get this place looking great.

This place was the most disgusting and scary motel ever. Talk about dirty and unkept.... 'suite' doors that you can't be sure are locked, neighbors that you are sure will OD during the night, rude desk clerks, a parking lot that has more pot holes than parking spots, straight filth on every inch of every wall and carpet.... need I really go on? EW!
