This motel is old but we have stayed there before, several times. The rooms we had were always large, the air was always cold, and the water was always hot. Other than being dated, there were no complaints. It’s been a couple of years since then and it has changed terribly! The walls were filthy and had not been cleaned in ages. The wallpaper was coming off in countless places. The carpet was sticky with a film over it, and the bathroom door(s, as both rooms we had were) damaged. And in the first room we had, the air never really cooled. We were prepared to overlook those things even though we were disappointed in the condition of the facility and of our room specifically. (Not to mention the small roach that came from behind the torn wallpaper in the bathroom above the shower) Until we came back from a day and night on the water and walking into a room with bugs!!! There were several small bugs on the walls and 2 IN OUR BED! And while we were checking for other issues and taking pictures, a cockroach came from out of the sink. I called and told them I needed to be moved and they agreed to give us another room. That rooms was in no better condition, however we only saw 1 cockroach and killed it. When I checked out, the nice lady at the desk acted as if there were no way her place would have roaches! She said the last guest in that room has to have brought them in. But regardless, I had to spray my bag and clothes before bringing them in my home for fear of roaches being in my bags. And was not offered a refund of any kind or even a discount for the disgusting environment!

4TH OF JULY

My husband and I checked in here last weekend for a weekend at the lake. We were only in the room about 15 minutes and went back to demand a refund and check out. The room smelled of stale cigarette smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room. We pulled the bedspread back, and roaches went scrambling! The mattress and sheets were gross, lamps on the walls yellowed and falling apart, and bathtub dirty. We saw more roaches on the walls and countertops before we even got out the door. When explaining the issue to the front desk, they acted shocked and said “Roaches?!??” We complained about this last summer as well and got the exact same response. We wrongly assumed they had rectified the issue and tried to give them another chance. I now see from the other reviews that they’ve had a roach issue for many years and have been giving guests this exact same pseudo-surprised response each time it is brought up. The family that owns this place lives inside the hotel, so there is no possible way they are unaware of the bugs. I will never stay here again and plan to call the health dept to request an inspection of this property.

Roach Infested

Within 5 minutes of being in the room seen roaches crawling across the dresser where tv sits on, refrigerator didn’t work, blood stains all over the bathroom walls, wall paper over the shower falling off into the shower, toilet did not work . When I say the toilet didn’t work I mean it had no water to it. No water in the tank no water in the bowl. Had a big water stain spot where you can tell the toilet had been leaking. We just needed a place to crash for one night for work so we just pee’d in the shower . Dirty pillow cases. I put a T-shirt over my pillow . It’s a dump.

Have stayed here a number of times and visits were always so-so but this last visit was horrendous. When we showed up I was asked ”What do you want" - well a room, obviously... ! When I went to pay was told "You know you need money on your card, right?" - umm.. yes. The AC in the room was not only off - it was unplugged. The TV never worked at all. There were no towels - only one measly wash cloth. And in the morning (an hour before checkout) they called the room for a wake-up call (didn't ask for one) - and informed us what time checkout was... Like wtf.. are you serious? For $64 this is a horrendous hotel. Here's a piece of advice - leave the area entirely. The hotels in this area and like they are doing you some sort of favor - Zero customer service what so ever.. Ick.

Absolutely Awful

We came to pickwick for a event for weekend and need a quit overnight place to stay  that was inexpensive. StoneBrook Inn was close and more reasonable than others when looking online .  When checked in was actually higher than price first told.The original price was for 1 person stay charged extra for the second person .  The staff were extremely friendly and were helpful. The Room was clean but not stocked. We had to call for bath linens and toilet paper. The staff brought the items quickly and apologized for the inconvenience.  Overall it was a okay when Taking in cost of it to others in area and only needing one night stay.

Needed a room for a night

We have stayed here twice to be close to where we hunt in late 2016 and early 2017. We were met by the same lady at the front desk both times. She was very nice and accomidating but must say that that is far as nice goes. First time we stayed was a get up there, go bed, get up before daylight trip. Room was clean but could tell that there wasn't much upkeep. Second trip was two nights in a different room. Wallpaper is coming off all over the place,furniture is held together with screws and metal bands, tub is very slow to drain, lights over vanity are different bulbs, stains on the painted trim, so this gives the reader an idea of the rooms. I read in the reviews where this is new management since 2014. Wellllll......
