I took my friend there for her Birthday. I has a lot of questions before our visit because I have trouble walking. Kate, the office manager, couldn't have been more helpful & accommodating when I called. She placed us in a user friendly room. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The manicured grounds are exquisite & inviting. There is even a stream that runs through it where you can see an occasional koi fish. All of the cabins are different & named after birds, some of which you can find flying around the property. I was struck as to how quiet it was all night long. It made for a great night's sleep. We didn't use the pool or jacuzzi but it looked wonderful. They have horses & a petting zoo. Check on the times for that. I can't wait to return.


This property is a paradise

My grandson and I had a wonderful 3 days at the ranch.  We had a small cabin that was perfect for us.  The grounds were beautiful, well planted and maintained.  There were 2 areas to hold life events.  The pool was large and there were pool toys available.  There was a play area with play structure, soccer field, dominoes and large connect 4 game.  There are animals, horses, donkeys, pony, pigs, sheep, goat, ducks, and roosters.  

The staff is friendly and want to help in any way they can.  The restaurant and snack bar are currently closed but each cabin has a mini refrigerator, toaster, and microwave.  There are several BBQ’s on the property.

This is a hidden gem and an oasis in the San Pasqual Valley.   I will be returning.

A wonderful getaway

Came here with my 1yr old about 6 yrs ago, and finally returned, stayed one night in March 2022 with 3 kids this time (in Peacock). It was very quiet the night we stayed there, so it was an absolutely perfect setting. Loved exploring the grounds, especially the old main building, the large open spaces to play, and visiting the horses/animals.  (Nice helpful additions for kids since last visit, like the giant Connect 4 on the lawn, and the  common area building with crafts/games to bring out to the covered porch.) Was a bit too chilly to jump in the pool but plan to do so in a future visit, as it's also a neat place to spend some time. Everything here just feels like such a slice of history. It's not your fancy resort of steel/glass/Starbucks, but they do an excellent job of maintaining the buildings and spending a LOT of time on the upkeep of the stunning grounds. The shower area was nicely updated, which was a nice surprise since the last visit. Looked like they were setting up for a wedding when we left, so someone looking for a quiet night might be left wanting, in the event of... an event. Anahi at the front desk was about as nice and helpful a person as you'll ever meet.

Return trip was even more pleasant than the first time

Stunning BUT... Would not stay here again.  Sadly to say beyond the stunning background, the immaculate grounds, the cute cabins - You can not get away from all of the screaming kids that are running the grounds, playing in the pool until all hours of the night, music from the pool area until 10pm etc.  i would LOVE to stay here when it is quiet so it would be a peaceful getaway.  However this is a stunning setting for parents to live in while their kiddos run everywhere.  I can not imagine if someone had a wedding here in their beautiful wedding area, and the pool is right behind that space.  It would 100% ruin the day.  This is a staycation place for families - Period!

Stunning BUT...

We held a corporate retreat here the weekend of October 22-24.  Diego and the entire staff were very helpful.  The property was clean and they had everything setup for our group to enjoy themselves.  We had all catering done through the Grand Restaurant Group, with Jory as our primary event planner.  The food was incredible, and our primary catering person Leah was amazing.  The property has a bit of a dude ranch feel in a very tranquil setting.

Corporate Retreat

Perfect staycation place. Gorgeous scenery, very relaxing atmosphere; our cabin was very nice and clean. Plenty of space between each cabin, lots of lawn games for kids and TV room available to use (with Covid restrictions). Anahi and Diego at the front desk were both very courteous and helpful.

February 2021 staycation

My husband and I love adventures more than anything and The Ranch at Bandy Canyon didn't disappoint! We booked two cabins, one for our four boys and one for us. The grounds were absolutely beautiful! There are small refrigerators in each room as well as microwaves. There were no crowds as this is a smaller venue so the peace and quiet was perfect for us. We witnessed an engagement with our neighbors, she said YES! The Ranch kept their Christmas lights up for the month of January which made the Ranch all the more magical! The staff, well, I just can't say enough. Anahi who works the front desk not only was one of the most friendly people I've met, but she CLEARLY loves her job and loves the Ranch! She was so accommodating, answered all our questions, and made sure our stay was everything we hoped it would be. Also, Michelle who takes care of the horses was so nice and introduced us to each of them along with a little history of the Ranch and each beautiful horse. If you're looking for a quiet romantic getaway, or a family staycation, this is the perfect place. We'll definitely be coming back to hit the hiking trails we missed. This place is truly a gem in San Diego!

Perfect staycation for the adventurer at heart!

The Ranch was a delightful break from our workaday world. The pool was crystal clear and so refreshing in the August heat. Our cabin, Kestril, was a cozy, one bedroom setup with a couch, sink, refrigerator, and microwave in the living room. No oven/stove in the room, but anyone wanting to cook can use the bbqs at the pool. We had an indoor and private outdoor shower which gave us options. Close to many wineries, including Cordiano [10 min.], which serves a range of Italian foods along with their wines. The Ranch is 30 min. from San Diego and a world away!

August 2020 Getaway

The grounds are vast and remind me of a theme park with out all the rides. I love all the lights everywhere at night. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The horse back riding is fun, I got to ride Molly the mule, she was funny ! The game room is a cool spot to hang out and watch movies. The pool and outdoor kitchen are beautiful. I have been there twice and looking forward to a third time soon !

Beautiful tranquil spot

We were looking forward to a getaway. Unfortunately the brown water in the sinks and the shower plus the strong smell of sewer ruined it. It was so disappointing because it was a beautiful setting, but nothing was worth that smell.
