Room was unclean, hair everywhere, especially in towels. Floor was filthy, did not seem as if it was ever mopped. Bedding and towels had stains in them. There was also garbage under the bed from previous customer. Disappointed to say the least! The toilet also kept running and my husband had to fix himself. We also found a termite in our room…

Look Elsewhere

The room was just right for 1-2 people. The check in staff - Scott was very friendly and helpful. 
The only thing I had an issue with was that I took a shower at night and walked around without shoes on and found that in the morning my feet were black. They need to wash the floors. I didn’t say anything as I didn’t want to get anyone into trouble. Just where shoes or slippers is my advice. 
All in all I was only there overnight but would consider this hotel if I ever get back. 

Satisfied 

This was a decent pet friendly room
 for  the price. In a good location with an easy walk to the bars, shops, and pier. Bedding was clean. In true Tybee fashion the baseboards look filty but I tried to clean them and they are mostly just scratched up. Kitchenette has 4 plates, bowls, mugs and glasses, silverware and one pan and one pot. Bring yourself a new kitchen sponge. This place needs some towel bars.  Call directly for a better rate.  Angel at the front desk was an angel.  

Better than OK

We stayed here when we went to Tybee, and we paid a total of 404.00 we stayed one full night and then had to check out early the next day because my daughter had gotten sick and threw up all in the shower. When we first got there, I had spilt my drink on the floor due to me bringing everything in the room and knocked it off and i called the hotel to make them aware of it and a lady brought me just a mop and basically wanted me to clean it myself which was rude and to me it was there job. Next, I called the hotel to let them know my child was sick and had thrown up all in the shower and it was all over the shower curtain etc. and it was chucks and hunks and I needed stuff to clean it up with and they weren't helpful at all someone finally came almost 45 minutes later it was already dark and late as it is we were ready for bed thank goodness I had already cleaned up the mess myself with what towels I did have! Also, the rooms had a smell and we found 2 roach bugs dead on the floor, the floors were not cleaned and swept like they should have been also the blankets they have on the beds are thin as paper & the first night we almost froze to death! I saw a housekeeper and mentioned it to her because I had seen the other rooms had a different blanket then what we had, so she said she would let the front desk know well she did and the lady said she would bring us 2 more blankets and when they came, they wanted the other 2 we had on our bed back and gave us the other ones and they were just as thin and the first ones. I definitely don't recommend staying here with your family. We will not be staying here again. 

Horrible, unclean

paying $140 for 1 night and having to kill 3 VERY LARGE cockroaches, walk on sandy floors and remove long black hairs from the tub (we're both blonde) isn't my idea of a nice place to stay. in addition, there's uncovered wiring in the bathroom, openings around  the plumbing and dark hairs in the bed. calling this place an inn is really stretchin' it. yeah, it's close to the beach and great walking around there, but why aren't there any nice, clean and reasonable places to stay on tybee? been going there for 30 years and still wondering. so disappointing

I felt very comfortable staying here. Quick walk to all restaurants and downtown Tybee. It was nice& quiet getting back to the room. Getting to the beach and the pier was a nice walk. I had no problem checking in or out personnel were very efficient. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone.

Dunes Inn was very accommodating to arrange starting our visit earlier than originally booked. Due to a slightly longer stay, they upgraded our room as well.  Turns out they could have done one better than my 3rd party booking by offering us a preferred kitchenette, which was not offered on the 3rd party booking site.  Staff were incredibly friendly, professional and clearly took pride in their beautiful Island location.

Friendly People in a lovely Island Town

Our room in the annex was small.  It was clean and well-lit, which is important to me because I read a lot.  The bed was comfortable, and the pillows were good.  However, there was no closet or anywhere to hang clothes, and there was no place to put luggage.  The AC/heating unit was so high up on the wall that we had to stand on a chair to turn it on.  It kept the room comfortable on a cold, windy night, but the bathroom was decidedly chilly.  Bath towels were thin and not very large.  The office doesn't open until 8AM, and since we had to leave early, I was not able to get a receipt.

Okay for One Night

The room was in the main building and felt clean and safe. The tap water from the kitchen sink tasted bad, but the bathroom sink was all right. There is hot water, but it takes a LONG time to get there; maybe because my room was toward the back, or the low water pressure. Point is, there IS hot water. No breakfast, but a coffee maker in the room and coffee in the office when it opens at 8am. There is a private balcony overlooking the pool, but I couldn't get that door to open. The location is wonderful: a block walk to the beach and close to many restaurants and activities. Parking is included, which matters here because otherwise it costs $3.50/hr to park anywhere else. It's a good place. I would stay here again.

Clean and safe place to stay

Read lots of reviews before picking a place to stay. This hotel was great, check in staff were very polite and helpful.  Felt safe in the area and room was clean. Only down fall which wasn’t a big thing at all was the room was very plain . We stayed in a double queen with kitchen area.
Very easy walk to the beach and easy to get in and out to view the area and Savannah.  Would definitely come back and stay
