We only needed a one night stop over on our way to NC.  This was about half way so I booked it since the reviews are pretty good.  The room was clean.  Some towels were stained, they need soaked and bleached.  We had enough clean towels to get by.  Rest of the bathroom was very clean.  Room was very clean.  No coffee maker.  For $85 there should be a coffee maker or at least a coffee option in the soda machine.  The sheets were clean.  The bed was comfortable.  Its not the Ritz but for one night and the price it worked out great.  The owner is very nice and helpful.  The view is fabulous, right on the river and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the city.  We would stay there again.

Great room with an awesome view

I was delighted with this clean, sweet room. I wasn't sure due to the fact it would be sight unseen. When we got there, the owners were nice and helpful. The view of the river was good. I was afraid that the river might of been high, due to all the rain. But nope, it was fine. The room itself had old fashioned decor, border around the top of the walls, etc. I told my husband it reminded me of being in my Mom's house, and just as super clean. No dust webs hanging anywhere and clean facilities.....would stay there again....

Great Room and Clean

Good stay! The check in was very easy even though we arrived very late at night, and the checkout process went just as smoothly as well. The place matched our expectations and was a convenient and low-budget place to stay.

Good Stay

Friendly & helpful manager of the motel.  It is right off I-77 & is clean.  There are no extras like coffee or breakfast but the price is right.  If you want a clean room while traveling through Charleston, this is for your.

clean inexpensive room

Comfy queen  beds, slept very well, the view of the river & beautiful mountains were very nice, there was easy highway access and we got breakfast at tudors biscuit next to the ramp to go back on the highway. Parking spaces weren’t crowded. Restaurant next door is a pizza dine in or delivery.

This Inn is unique !

On cleanliness this motel scores a 5 out of 5. It's a basic place to stay with no pool, lounge, or breakfast. There is no 2 1/2 star option or I would have given it. Rooms have clean towels, bedding and extra clean bathroom. No tissues in room. Price is okay for what you get. Watch the marble strip between the bedroom area and the bathroom as it is raised and you can stub your tie if not careful.

Low cost and acceptably clean motel 

I don’t understand all the reviews that say “clean.” They must have very low standards because this place was gross. I killed 6-8 flies in the room during our short stay. Mold around bathtub handles. Microwave and refrigerator were not clean inside; remnants of previous food debris. Paper thin walls; could hear people in adjacent rooms and smell their cigarette smoke. Sheets were very scratchy. Unstable wifi and cable; both cut out so often I finally gave up. Was not given quoted price for room rate. Says AAA approved but someone needs to inspect this place. I would never stay here again.

Terrible! 0 Stars

I found this hidden gem on TripAdvisor about 5 years ago when I was planning on issuing through the area. So we stayed here again bc it worked out well. It’s no frills, but the reviews mentioned that. And it’s expected with the name. Bring your own shampoo. Easy to find off I-77 south. Not sure what the other reviewer was talking about being hard to find. I get lost walking across the street and I found it with ease. This time we arrived at midnight, and they had a sign on the door to call a number when you arrive. It was weird, but it was fine. A man checked me in quickly. Last time I stayed we only had one bed, and I remember the room being tiny (but fine for our stay over). This time we got 2 beds and the room seems a lot bigger! Very spacious! I felt that totally safe staying here alone w my 2 daughters. 

Perfect for an overnight stay on a road trip!

Clean, quiet, and a good bargain for the price. Would stay their again when in Charleston. Right on the river where you can sit on the bank. Easy parking, close to a Tudors Biscuit World, a WV favorite.

Simple and adequate

My boyfriend and I stopped here for one night on our way to Chesapeake, VA. I booked online for $56 through TripAdvisor and we got a king room facing the river (didn’t have to ask for the view and there wasn’t an upcharge). The lady at the desk was friendly and our room was spacious and clean. There was a larger mini-fridge, microwave, and tv. The bathroom was spotless and I think I took the best shower I’ve had in years...strong water pressure and plenty of hot water. The bed was more firm than I’m used to, but I slept just fine. I did hear one or two trains and some road noise during the night, but I’m used to noise so it didn’t bother me. We would stay here again next time we travel this way.
