Be sure to read all reviews for this property before staying here! The owner/Manager was difficult to work with. He applied an upgrade charge for something we never asked for and there were many strange "policies" that they enforced there.  The strangest one to us was that they limited the pool use to one family at a time for one hour each day. The door to the pool was kept locked and had to ask the manager to be let in.  The jets on the whirlpool were not and had not been working for some time. We were told that the two of us(my adult daughter and myself), could not share a room with one bed. It is against their "policy" for the two of us to both sleep in the same bed. When I asked if that policy would apply if I was there with my husband, he said no, it would be fine for my husband and I to share one bed! He made our stay there very uncomfortable. When he was questioned by the Bureau of Consumer Protection Dept. he alleged that everything I was saying was a lie and never happened. 

Find a different place to stay!

In August I was bicycling across Wisconsin and stayed here for a night. The room and breakfast buffet were good. The "not so good" was being charged $15 to store my bike in a secure garage. The inn's policy (which they told me earlier) was to not allow bicycles in rooms. As noted in another review below, this policy is unusual. I hope the owner will reconsider or offer another option.

Good and not so good

The rooms are clean and neat.  The bed was comfortable.  Free “breakfast” was included - all carbs and some juice & coffee.  The bad things about this hotel:  front desk charged us $30.00 per dog for 2 TRAINED & CERTIFIED Service dogs, and had the guts to add $6.30 TAX - “cleaning fee”.  I tried to talk to the front desk guy about how this is AGAINST THE LAW for people with disabilities.  He told me that he was not going to argue with me and walked into the back room.  

Do it “My Way or the HighWay”

The River Inn and Suites was very clean, well maintained, friendly front desk and in the lovely and quaint town of Osceola WI.  Be sure to see the waterfalls about a mile from the hotel.  We ate at a Mexican restaurant about a couple miles out of town.  The best chimichangas we have ever had and we have been to many Mexican resort cities.  Five ⭐️ stars for the restaurant, hotel and town.

Poor management, hostile.  Refuses to abide by ADA laws and charges for service animals. Became hostile when we refused to pay that fee.
While the room was nice and clean, there is a roach trap in the room, and the room is damp. Bed and pillows were comfy though. 

We would have stayed our duration  but the hostility we encountered made it very unpleasant.  

Not ADA compliant

Nothing on any web site or hotel advertisement states Bicycles are not allowed in rooms. When you get there they charge you for parking the bike in their garage. This is despite their site saying "free parking". As a Cyclist I'm considered a vehicle when riding on the road. They advertise on Adventure Cycling Bicycle Maps, and it does not warn you of extra charges or restrictions. I stayed at 14 different hotels on my trip and this was the only one to give me a hard time. Not easy to change to a different hotel in this area either.

I stayed their on May 28 with my family, they try to get your money in any way they can, they not try to make the guest welcomed they only there to (catch the fish) and get as much money as possible from guests. they should be ashamed of there actions.

you leave the hotel and they start charging your credit card with a punch of charges that you never asked or never discussed or agreed to it.
Beds are awful very uncomfortable and old the haven't replaced mattresses in years.
breakfast was terrible you don't feed to humans. it a vey sad experience.

This hotel was very clean and the staff was very accommodating. They had a great continental breakfast. The hotel was perfectly situated by all kinds of great outdoor activities.  Trollhaugen was ten minutes away and the Interstate Park was also very close.

Great place very clean

We had a 2-night stay while visiting Osceola, and as usual the River Valley Inn is a comfortable and affordable hotel.  The rooms are comfortable with decent water pressure.  The breakfast buffet is about average.  This was our 3rd or 4th visit to this hotel, and we would choose it again.

Osceola Visit

I grew up in Osceola and thought highly of this hotel however due to my family’s experience this weekend here, I cannot support this business. They booked a room instead of crashing on an air mattress at the house as she is 8 months pregnant. They found bed bugs in the room. Showed employees the bugs. They were offered 10% off and new bed sheets which clearly won’t take care of a bed bug issue. My family told them they weren’t staying the night and wanted a full refund which they were denied as the staff insisted only 10% off each night my family had reservations. This is an unacceptable response to bed bugs. 10% off is a joke. Our large extended family will no longer be using this hotel, including for a family wedding this fall. You’ve been warned.
