Bit like Disney Land (but very much in the making as not much open and construction work everywhere) but without the rides (only have a few and queues were ridiculous for the alpine slide). Only things open were the abundant eateries, coffee shops, bars - all obviously costing extra. I was a bit disappointed to see that the waxworks exhibition was an extra fee activity - as there was very little else there to do.
On the plus side the banquet buffet was incredible - although so many people with no clear signage of foods, flow direction leading to chaos on times.
Also the street dancers were very talented.

I would question the immense carbon footprint (plus vast natural habit damage) for a venue that lacks any real theme / purpose.  In summary - one to avoid

Incredible vision and engineering challenges - but why bother

There’s a long way to go before Ba Na hills is really ready for visitors. Lured by the promotion of the ‘Hand bridge’ we were bitterly disappointed to find much of the ‘resort’ still under construction.  There’s no dispute the cable car ride to the top of the  hills and it’s surrounding view are spectacular but that’s where it ends.  What is being created is a bizarre blend of real life and fiction. It doesn’t quite fall into place.  Entry fee is also up there.

I came to Bà Nà Hills with a group of friends a couple of days after the flooding of Da Nang, so it was not as busy as it would normally be. The two cable rides up are fabulous for the scenery. The first takes you up to the Golden Bridge the second to the French Village and castle.

The Golden Bridge was definitely the highlight for me with fab views and luckily not too crowded on our visit.

The French Village at the top of Bà Nà Hills has to be the most surreal place on earth. On a mountain top in central Vietnam a feaux French Village with a Notre Dame Cathedral, Moulin Rouge, cafes and many other francophile things all set around a central fountain with a golden globe and large busts of Van Gogh, Beethoven, Mozart, Tolstoy etc. Oh yes did I mention the Mercure Hotel in the shape of a French Chateau and a large Starbucks! Plenty of places to eat as well and the Mercure to stay for a day or two. Also a large amusement park which we did not go to. If you come here with a sense of fun, it is pretty entertaining. A good way to spend the day with friends.

One warning: take a jacket/jumper & a rain coat … remember you are on the top of a mountain, it was pretty cold when the sun disappeared and wind picked up.

Bà Nà Hills is a fun day trip

Okay, I'm not really sure where to start. First off, we come from Europe and we therefore have most of the originals nearby. With that said, I seriously wonder who got the idea to put this strange fake interpretation on top of a mountain...?

The first part, Golden Bridge, Buddha pagoda and "theme" parks seemed mostly for the Chinese to take selfies to Weibo and TikTok. Believe me, when I say that the French garden or the Greek inspired "Mythology" park is far far away from a European setting. 

In the French village and Fantasy Park many many restaurants were closed (we were there in end-July?!) and for the arcades in Fantasy Park, many machines were broken.
We got stuck in the French Village because of bad weather, so the cables cars stopped for a couple of hours. We eventually got down, but why they closed almost everything down, when the cable cars were out of service, is seriously beyond me....

Okay, enough rambling. It's reasonable priced and you actually don't get ripped off. Yes, it's predominantly all fake, but you can't take the beautiful location away from it. Go there with your kids, but have the things mentioned above in mind...

Somewhat weird place

The cable car views are amazing - at the top it's very busy, but full of things to look at and take photos by. Doesn't need a whole day. Buffet in Beer Plaza very reasonable price and good choice. It's much colder than the surrounding area so take a jumper. 

Interesting place!

Located on a highland, the resort attracts tourist by its theme park with the French villa which replicate French and European cathedral and village construction styles in 50s. The resort is covered by mist for almost 4 seasons, make this place a comfortable place for hiding from hot weather in Da Nang city.

I have visited this place for twice, first time was raining so can’t see much scenery. Second time weather was good, with  lovely and colourful flowers especially the Tulips  I felt  I was in Netherland.

Unimportant amusement park, french village are now looking fake, had alot of closed restaurants. In the middle of the day the do maintenance on the cable cars which I find pretty strange, we had to wait 30 min. before we could get down to the main station. Some of the rollercoasters were closed, but you still had to pay the full price for the tickets - which is also overpriced! 

Bad experience 

We stay for 3 nights. Beautiful to see and stay. The cable cars were amazing to see. Plenty entertainment. The street layout is really a French vibe. The hotel service was excellent.  A variety of food to choose from hotels and outside food stands. Definitely would go back.
