I stayed at Dai Lanh Beach Resort in January of 2020, and loved it! 
The only issue I had was the lack of transportation to and from the resort, but if you know this in advance you can prepare by renting a motorbike or budgeting for a taxi. I took a bus from Nha Trang to Van Gia Khanh Hoa, then a local taxi bus gave me a ride for VD150000, not bad. 
There are not many tourists in this rural area, and very few people speak English. Staff at the resort knew enough English for check in and ordering food, the menus are available in English. But even communicating with locals in the village is possible if you bother to learn just a few phrases in Vietnamese. I walked into the village and had an amazing cheap lunch on the main street near the mountains. 
The beach near the resort is secluded and clean, the water is usually calm, but can get a bit rough. Which is fine if you aren't ignorant about how to swim safely in the ocean. Yes, as other commenters have mentioned, there is a lot of trash on the beach away from the resort. There are also noxious trash fires in the evening, but this is not unusual for the area (and the smoke doesn't reach the resort area). Coming to Dai Lanh with Western expectations is a mistake. Enjoy it for what it is: a beautiful local rural area in Viet Nam. Pick up the trash yourself if it bothers you so much.  
The food at the resort was cheap and delicious, and there is a small outdoor market, restaurants, and convenience stores in the village. Alcohol is costly at the resort, but a nice splurge if you must. In the village beer is cheap. 
The room I stayed in was a bungalow with a single bed, a hot water kettle, a comfy bed, AC, good internet, and mosquito net. The bathrooms and showers were clean with plenty of hot water. 
The best part of staying here was the proximity to the ocean and mountains. The views and distance from metropolitan areas are worth visiting for alone.

Great Beach and Accommodations, Check Your Expectations

The room was clean, a good size, everything worked, and the hot water seemed to be endless! The staff where always pleasant but clearly didn't want to be there. They only spoke a little bit of English but most of there guests are Vietnamese. Breakfast only had a few options (all Vietnamese) but the rest of the menu had some really good choices. The prices where between 50-150k VND and we always got good value. There are lots of different seating options.
There are lots of photo props around and a big playground for young children.
From a distance this beach looks perfect; the sand is white, the water is blue and the fishing boats make a nice backdrop.
It's a long way to the nearest airport or train station (Tuy Hoa) and that means a 500,000VND (22USD) taxi ride.
Besides being at the hotel everything else is inaccessible unless you have a motorbike. The hotel said that renting a motorbike would be over 200,000VND! I don't mind paying a bit extra but that is 2 times what we paid in Hoi An, Phu Quoc, and Hanoi.
We stayed in March 2020 so the hotel was very empty because of COVID-19. This may have been the reason why the staff really didn't want to do anything. They asked us to have dinner at 5pm so they could go home. They could have used this time to pick up the rubbish that they had previously swept into the gardens.
When you walk on the sand please bring a rubbish bag and wear shoes. The people from Dai Lanh, and especially the fisherman on the boats, should be put in jail for what they have done. It is frustrating to see a beautiful place become ugly just because people are to lazy to take their rubbish with them. Tourists cannot be blamed for the mess because there are hardly any. Tourists wont come and spend their money in Dai Lanh unless something is done to clean the beach. Don't bother walking to the village; there is nothing to do and only a few eating places.

So much potential

For those who are enthusiastic about traveling, Nha Trang and Khanh Hoa are no longer strange places to visit which occupy tourists’ hearts by their diverse natural landscapes along with exciting activities. However, there is a pristine coastline with unexploited rustic beauty called Dai Lanh beach, a forgotten paradise.

Forgotten paradise
Dai Lanh, a famous romantic scenery, located in the middle of Ca and Co Ma passes which can be reached by National Highway 1A, national arterial route, and the railway across Vietnam with Dai Lanh train station. In here, you can not only enjoy its beauty but also face to the East by motorboats to the villages to see daily life of local fishermen.
 
You will be overwhelmed by a cool blue and white sand on this long beautiful coastline. Moreover, one of the most value to make this place gorgeous is Dai Lanh Cape, also known as Dien Cape where you can see the first dawn in Vietnam.
For those who in love with beauty and wilderness.
 
Because of its rare wild beauty, tourism operators here are also cautious about investing and they are attempting to minimize natural and scenic changes.
Instead, Dai Lanh is being developed by immersing in nature so that visitors can enjoy their traveling with full five senses. Besides, this clear water can help you to even see the bottom in some shallow water, the coast descends very gradually, not too deep to be dangerous.
 
Due to less exploitation of tourism, the marine ecosystem here is still diverse. Have you ever dreamed of seeing the coral reefs and fish swimming, try this once and you never regret. Dai Lanh’s cuisine is also one of the best things here because it is not only cheap but also fresh. Moreover, you will have a chance to enjoy seafood in style of Central Vietnam.
 
One day in the near future, Dai Lanh promises to be a new Koh Rong of Southeast Asia.

DAI LANH BEACH ZONE REVIEW – A GORGEOUS UNDISCOVERED WILD BEACH.

Secluded on a beach that was one time ranked among the most beautiful beaches in Viet Nam. It is now somewhat a let down and service is still lacking compared to international standards. It is also somewhat far from the city of Nha trang, and thus could be inconvenient for some. But if you just need a quiet place with access to the beach, this may fit the bill. You may end up like us, alone on the beach, with coffee in hand and sands between our toes.

Away from the tourist crowd

Rooms are just OK, no work desk, but the night table as a chair with the fridge will work as a work-around ;-)

Working A/C, mosquito net, hot water kettle, refrigerator, and HOT water in the shower are all there.

The beach is NICE and is cleaned daily (but don't expect a pristine one).   This is NOT a western resort, which may not be your cup of tea but is a good choice if you're trying to get away from the tourist crowds in Nha Trang or Hoi An.

The resort's restaurant is decent and has decent prices (except for wine; better to bring your own).

If you're one of those people who insists that all the staff speak English...... YES at the reception.... So-So in the restaurant...... Maybe it's time to learn some Vietnamese ?

This is my second time here and I will not hesitate to book here again.

Still a good-vibe place to stay at a beautiful beach

I’m sorry for the nice and smiley people who work in the hotel, but the beach was full of wrecks, you cannot swim because the sea in this point is dangerous, they’ve were rebuilding almost everything because of a past year storm, no people at all, us the two of us, in the middle of nothing (and I mean really NOTHING). 
We asked to be refunded and we left. 
There is no way to get off except a cab that they can call for you if he is free. The closest city is about an hour distance.

Nice people working here, but...

There was a little hick-up in the booking process, so instead of the Deluxe room, I was given a Superior room when I arrived, but also saved $5 per night.   At the beginning, I was a bit huffy-puffy about that, but it was for the better in the long run..... the savings got me a bottle of wine at the bar ;-)

Staff:
Not that it matters to me but some tourists seem to care a lot:
The Manager speaks excellent English and most staff speak between a few words and good English.  The restaurant menu is in Vietnamese AND English, so that even guests who have been unable to learn a few words of Vietnamese should get what they want.  Previous reviews have complained about the staff.  I got along with the staff extremely well and everyone was very friendly.   But then I don't treat Vietnamese people as servants.

Beach:
Cleaned to Vietnamese standards, but not overly dirty.  The beach is in a protected bay and offers GREAT swimming

Food:
Breakfast is included.  Baguette is one of the choices but I recommend Bun Cha Ca.

Room WiFi:  
Excellent speed without any interruptions

Hot Water:
Yes, the shower has hot water

Quality of Sleep:
The North-South train line runs about 100 meters behind the hotel and trains run infrequently but at all hours.  Some engineers blow the train's horn when running though populated areas to prevent accidents.  I woke up once or twice the first night but was used to it by night 2.

What I was missing is a work table (computer with chair), but the fridge as the desk and the night table as chair works reasonably well ;-)

Overall:
I wasn't convinced that this was the right fit for me when I arrived, but by the next morning, I extended my stay for another night.  And I will stay here again if I should happen to be in the area again.

Comfy lodging with a nice beach and great staff

There is a wonderful beach and sea here in front of Đại Lãnh hotel, but the reason I rate it low is because the staff . Most of the young staff is quite rude. Communication is an issue for foreigners since they are not foreigner friendly at all  nor they speak English.   They don't bother to help anyway. Exception, ladies working at reception they do have a more mature approach to tourists.This is unfortunate since, as I mentioned in the beginning, the setting is wonderful.

We had an horrible experience at this hotel, I would absolutely avoid it.
First everything is destroyed here, but nobody told us before our arrival and when you get there, there is no other options then to stay since it's isolated. The rooms are really expensive considering that there is nothing but a dirty beach, partially fonctionnal buildings or under construction infrastructure. It really is not worth it. 

I wish they would have told us before our arrival, or at least give a discount, but no. A big lack of honnesty.

Unfriendly staff, really hard to communicate with, and bad tiny breakfast... 

Don't go there

I stayed here one night. Fortunately there was one lady here who could speak English fairly well. One or two others only a few words. Apart from looking after hotel room bookings they also oversee hiring of seating areas, life vests and selling drinks.
My room was small and basic but it did have a TV, fridge and mozzie net. Would be fine for a night or two as the beach area is kept clean and great for a swim.
The restaurant section is open at night so you don't go hungry. Long walk to the nearest alternative.
You receive a voucher for your breakfast.
Breakfast staff basically don't speak English. I was happy to get a baguette and a couple of fried eggs.
Everyone is happy and helpful. They booked my taxi to Doc Let beach.
