Historic hotel, no value attached. Premium room, old-fashioned sheets, burns, towels with holes in them, If a health problem arose, the property was not facilitated, much less contact offered in Cachi to get attention, it was dismissed.

Hotel not valued.  Disinterest and mistreatment by the Owner.

I can usually find something positive to say about a hotel, I dislike writing bad reviews but the Sala de Payogasta is an exception.  This is a really run down property - looking at the date of previous reviews it seems nothing has been done to the hotel since 2019 and the arrival of covid.  I'm sure it's been tough for them but the property really needs a refurbishment.  Room was nasty, peeling paint, very basic, bathroom needs a revamp (bizarrely has a jacuzzi bath but the hot water takes so long to come through it would never fill). From the moment of arrival and the surly non-greeting (we were interrupting her watching a film) to the check out we hated our stay.  There was a gas fire in the room (working fireplace was a black hole) which took ages to light but we turned it off for fear of carbon monoxide.  We had asked about dinner but when we went into the restaurant room it was strewn with the previous meal's debris - dirty plates and glasses and old food.  We said it was dirty and would go into Cachi - thumbs up from the receptionist! We didn't bother with breakfast, we just wanted to leave.  The photos on the website are obviously old and are not what it's like today.  Ah yes, a good point: whoever cleans the rooms does an okay job, sheets too.  Really, until they get their act together, stay somewhere else.

Avoid

Beautiful accommodation. comfortable and well-arranged rooms. Location away from the center but accessible with priority to tranquility and unbeatable views. Spectacular restaurant. Very good attention.

It's a lovely place to stay.

The stories we had last week were that it was very cold and we spent a lot of time in the room. It is not prepared for the winter. In the bathroom there is a bathtub with a very nice hydromassage but for sustainability reasons they don't let us use it. We didn't have a good time. It was two nights. The first time we took the house that was inside the room but at night it was lacking oxygen.......we woke up feeling very sick. The small balanced fireplace had no reach. The doors and windows had no burritos and a huge pinch was entering the door...... The place where breakfast is served is beautiful, a spectacular view although the quality of breakfast is mediocre. The dinner is good.

Boutique hotel solo for a part time....

A place that leaves you speechless; full of peace and incredible beauty; the warmth of attention and the immense sight.

Very poor price-quality ratio. I saved the attention of the staff and the breakfast, which was fine with a beautiful view. For the rest, I wouldn't return. I expected something else, the pink abandoned under the concept of rustic. The suite room and its bathroom are spacious. I was touched by dirty and dirty sheets. No TV or wifi in the room. The hotel is on the route and the restaurant is across the street: the food is expensive and its quality is not worth it. Conclusion: for the same money, you get better things in Cachi. Don't hire the room for the photos of the hydromassage because it's not part of the services.

Route hotel sold as a boutique.

We spent two nights in the Sala de Payogasta with my fiancé.Although we arrived at the reception very carefully, we were told about the history of the room and were invited to tour it.The room is very comfortable and warm.The central courtyard and the view of the whole place is unique.It is to connect with the essence of the place, with the origins and local production.It is not a pretentious place but everything it offers is of quality.The breakfast is excellent and the food in the restaurant is very good too.It is all right.We love it, we recommend it and will definitely come back.

A magical hotel.

If you're looking for a remote hotel it's about 10km away, if you get there fast but there's nothing nearby if you want to go for a walk and be quiet at the extreme this is your option. No TVs in the rooms and the wifi was going more or less. The rooms weren't bad, the bathroom wasn't in the best condition, if we flooded a little while we were bathing. Imperdibles seen from the dining room while desayunas which was very nice and served very kindly by the employee. As far as the price and quality I thought it was a bit expensive for what you offer.

A little more rustic than I expected.

It is an old and classic period house, with a lot of history and the classic design of the central courtyard with all the rooms around it. Well recycled and set up on Route 40, with the particularity that it divides the dining rooms. It is always necessary to ask for the rooms that give the mountain, opening the window you get an excellent view of the Nevado de Cachi and you can enjoy an excellent sunset or sunrise. They have a small winery and a garden that can be visited on foot. They offer a dinner with typical dishes and an acceptable breakfast without the luxuries of the big hotels, but let us not forget that it is a hotel that tries to maintain the historical infrastructure.

An excellent stadium, as if to go back in time.

A colonial house modified for accommodation. While it has a beautiful view (as long as they are on the side of the mountain, the other rooms and along the route), the facilities are far from being a boutique. The room has no A/A, refrigerator, fan, and hydromassage. If you go with kids there is no TV or Wi-Fi. Something very important is breakfast, very rare and of little variety (with photos). Perhaps not so important is the equipment of the gym (almost nothing), the patio and playground for children (only a few old and poorly maintained hamlets... with photos) and a parriller.
