All I can say is below average. Waited over an hour for the food. Poor girl serving did her best but they were really busy and no help in sight.  This is the third and last time we try this place. I like to give people a chance, but come on. You've got a great area from a beer garden perspective, except where you're eating, people are smoking and the smoke goes into your food.    The food came finally, just really average. Not worth the over hour wait. Just wanted a quick lunch. Suggest you pick your game up Gin Gin Hotel. You have a great location and plenty of room. Shame about the quality.

Brilliant meals and service highly recommend for a good old fashioned pub meal. Serves were very generous and enjoyable. Will definitely come back when next in Gin Gin. Very reasonable prices as well. Fried chicken and Angus burger were very good - very friendly staff

We were travelling through and stayed the night in Gin Gin coming to the pub for dinner. Both our meals were excellent.

Over the past 5 yrs it has been great, but not now!! I paid $30 for inferior quality and sized meals. I was not aware that both chefs had left recently. I was not aware that the quality and size of the meals had taken a huge nose dive. I was not aware either that the attitude had changed towards patrons. I have always highly recommended the Gin Gin Hotel as the place to go for a good meal, but I will never again. I took a girlfriend who was visiting there for lunch on Saturday. I ordered the Pepper Calamari, chips and salad for $15 and Jen ordered the Rump Steak Sandwich for $15. When I was handed my meal, the first thing I said in front of the manager was "Have you down sized the meals?". I was thinking "It just does not look right??."To which I was told that both Chefs had left and they had new ones. Jens Rump Steak Sandwich FOR $15!! was a Thin Bit of Steak that did not stretch the whole distance of the thick bread, accompanied by the same mixed salad I had on my plate. On my plate there was about 6 bits of flat white stuff that looked like Tripe, a small hand full of chips and  the same size of mixed salad. I was appalled by the look of it and the price I had paid!! I took a couple of bites of the so called Calamari and there was no taste and the texture was like if it was reconstituted. Like it was a cheap processed version of Calamari. I took it back and told them that I was not happy with it. The girl took it from me- ask what else I wanted and I said "Just a plate of chips will do." I latter complained and explained to the Manager and the Bar Manager that I had just paid $15 for a meal that I was not happy with and "That it actually cost me $15 for a plate of chips." The manager said that they had changed the quality of food since the chefs had left. I got no sorry, offer of a refund or refund of the difference. I will never go back and will never recommend this place to any of my future guests. Go to the Highway Hotel instead and hopefully they are as good as they use to be!!

Looking for a place for dinner...their outdoor dining area attracted us. A popular place with a good few people coming and going. We ate outside near the kids area. When all your kids are grown up sometimes not such a good idea. Good drinks first and a great Thursday night special...300g rump, chips, corn, coleslaw for $15 a bargin. Sounds great but did they deliver? Not quite, my med. steak was welldone for most of it. The $2 extra for my diane sauce had a very unusual, vinagary taste, the corn was missing and the coleslaw was chunky with pieces that I would normally throw out. The chips were ok. Oh there ended up being another green salad with it which was alright.

Great place to stay on a budget. Clean and tidy rooms, with warm welcome by busy bar staff on a Friday night. Shared amenities were clean and tidy. It was a last minute decision to make Gin Gin while travelling late from Brisbane. 

Great budget accomodation 

The gin gin hotel has awesome budget accommodation...bed very comfortable...sheets ironed crisply...white as snow...TV ...mirror and towel rail...plus ceiling fan and air con..in the room....the kitchen is fully functional...fridge..oven..basic breakfast items...the shared bathroom is still to be updated...but was good.. especially after a long day of travel...the staff friendly and welcoming...as a solo traveller the $50 charge for the room..is well within anyone's budget...would highly recommend this accommodation...and in the future will stay at the gin gin hotel...

Awesome budget accommodation

Whilst we were enjoying an amazing meal on Tuesday, due to torrential rain, the highway was closed.  We were lucky to obtain the last room in town.  The beds were so comfortable, beautiful sheets and towels and spotlessly cleans.  Rooms have been freshly painted and the floors have been varnished.  We were travelling with my 86 year old Mum, the lovely staff very kindly put a mattress on the floor so 3 of us could fit into the room.  Shared bathroom, very clean.  Can't say enough good things about this property and the food.  Lovely atmosphere, beer garden would be great on a pleasant day.  Thank you to the wonderful team at the Gin Gin Hotel for your help on Tuesday.

Great Food and Room

Truly if you are hungry and want a fresh Burger then Gin Gin Hotel is the place to go to dine.  The BURGERS are absolutely HUGE and DELICIOUS !!!!!
Apart from that the service is great with very friendly staff.
It is lovely to sit out in the outdoor Beer Garden under a tree with a lovely breeze.  
Try it you wont be disappointed.

Food is great! Good quality, large sizes and def real home cooked style meals. Steak and veggies was up there with some of the best steaks I've eaten around the world!
