Nice place, clean, organized, simple and cozy. Nice price and the restaurant is also worth a lot of money. This time I went alone, next time I'll go with my husband. I think he'll like it. The view is nice and the location is nice. That's it!

Good for you!

This is a very simple hotel: the access to the rooms is by a steep staircase, the room has no fridge and the breakfast is poor. The staff is very attentive, but I consider it an expensive accommodation compared to the hotel I stayed at in Bethlehem and the inn in Alter do Chão which were much better and were more affordable.

Stay impaired by party noise in the square

The hostel is located between the ferry pier and the trapiche of Soure, on the river bank street. The hostel has a restaurant that has good food but you get lost in the service (when the house gets more busy) the room I stayed in was very comfortable with a large bathroom and quiet air conditioning, but the window looked out to the bottom of the hostel where there were chickens, duck, dog and even a buffalo. This does not bother me but for some it can be a problem.

Simple and comfortable

Pousada caters well to what is proposed. Good bed, good air conditioning and good breakfast. It provides a drink in the hallway. Very helpful staff and serves a good meal in the restaurant that is on the ground floor. It is very close to the port of arrival at Soure. The hostel reflects the simplicity of the place. Both deserved a greater investment in quality and beautification, to increase tourism.

Simple and honest.

Everything was very good at Pousada Ilha Bela. Mr. Niel and his wife (owners) were extremely kind during our stay. Good food, beautiful beaches, this hotel is simple, safe and located in front of the arrival dock in Soure. You just drop-off the boat, walk by 1 minute and then you will be at pousada Ilha Bela. I would definitely come back again.

Amazing stay at Ilha do Marajó

Pousada's facilities are simple, but very clean and suitable for a stay of a few days. The staff and owners, Bianca and Niel, are very friendly and helpful and helped us to buy tickets to the Island and tours. We appreciate the service of the friendly Juliane.

What a surprise!

Comfortable, clean, almost everything, with a view of the river, the owner, always trying to make it easy for you and solve everything you need, the good thing is that it has a good restaurant that I would say is quite complete and if eaten very well!, average prices, not the cheapest or the most expensive.

Good place!

I spent 2 nights at the pousada. It was recommended by my travel agent in Soure for its convenient location opposite the dock where the lancha rápida from Belém operates. The rooms in the pousada, there are about 8, are upstairs from a restaurant bearing the same name. My room was pretty basic with air conditioner, double bed with foam style mattress, a small dresser with 3 drawers and one electrical outlet (I suggest traveling as I did with and outlet extension, multi-usb plug-in and, if you are coming from abroad, adapter). The bathroom is in a way nicer than the bedroom, as if it belongs in a different place. The shower was strong and the water hot. There was one plastic chair in the room, no safe, no minibar. Breakfast is downstairs, turn left. It is pretty basic and in addition to the small buffet you can order a fried egg and/or a tapioca. Flies were very abundant during my stay, my guide said this was at least partly a seasonal phenomenon, and I saw many flues in some of the other places I went. My travel agent scheduled most of my outings to places like Fazenda São Jeronimo, Fazenda Bom Jesus, Praia do Pesqueiro and Praia Barra Velha. One outing was not planned and the owner, Niél, was super helpful with arrangements (I believe he only speaks Portuguese). Pousada Ilha Bela is in a convenient location for having a walk around town. People who stay on the outskirts generally get around by mototaxi. The restaurant downstairs has a varied menu. Food prices are not inexpensive here or at other restaurants in Soure. The cost to stay at the pousada is low (less than US $40 per night at the current exchange rate) so the presence of few amenities was to be expected (I neglected to mention: there is a TV in the room, I did not turn it on). The restaurant downstairs is open until 1am and I was initially concerned about noise. There can be loud music, but each night by 10pm it was quiet. A note for January visitors: There is a one week crab spawning season in which thousands of crabs can be seen mating on less trafficked beaches, try to time your visit to see this phenomenon.

Basic accommodation, convenient location, owner super helpful

We ate here twice and the food was good and the beers were ice cold which was how you would expect them to be considering the heat outside. The service was a bit slow, but the waiters were kind and as we were not in a hurry this was fine. Prices reasonable.

Good food, slow service

Good things first:

- good location with view of the river 
- food was tasty 

However I thought the food was quite pricey, especially the second time I went when the portion was rather small with very little meat.
R32 for buffalo filet with marajo cheese, rice and fried bananas.

What disappointed me the most was the horrible service. Very slow even though there were only few other people, unfriendly and really not helpful at all.

Would probably try somewhere else next time.
